07/03/2025: If you want to discover a typical Bolognese tavern, this is the right place. Important cellar, traditional dishes and more. The crostini, gold-drop tagliatelle and truffle egg are absolutely worth trying.

07/03/2025: Very nice tavern, at the same time simple and well-kept, places like this are unfortunately increasingly rare. Excellent cuisine: I had a roast beef to perfection but the menu is really inviting, in full Emilian tradition for both the first and second courses. I return after a year (I'm from Turin) and I confirm that the dishes are excellent: the tagliatelle with white ragù were superb. Impeccable service. Now if I come to Bologna I try to sleep in the area so I can eat at Becco di Legno which is a guarantee of goodness and friendliness!

10/03/2025: Nothing to complain about the food and the service......a negative point is the bill which was too "salty".....if you offer me something that is not on the menu (e.g. Florentine steak) you must also give me indications of the costs.....otherwise I am in for a surprise when I have to pay the bill. Plus, with what I paid, I at least expect a receipt..... I add just to clarify and to respond to the kind restaurateurs, that in the menu that was given to us at the table the Florentine was not indicated just as it does not seem to me that it is indicated even in the online menu which I attach as a photo (in fact we asked if it was possible to order it off the menu)..... but obviously it is our fault for not asking the price..... Furthermore, none of us asked for the invoice and in fact it was not issued to us.....we only asked for two separate accounts.....maybe the customer is the wrong one?

06/04/2025: Sono stata all’Osteria della Lanterna grazie ad un’amica, che ha avuto pienamente ragione nel raccontarmi quanto si mangia bene. Tutto superlativo. Entrèe di mousse di mortadella, poi ho provato l’uovo poke e la tagliata di pluma iberica con contorno di erbette, per concludere in bellezza con il mascarpone con scaglie di cioccolato. Da leccarsi i baffi. Mangiato e bevuto bene, ad un prezzo giusto. Grazie al titolare Edoardo anche per la cortesia e attenzione sulla Celiachia e alternative senza glutine. Di sicuro tornerò quando passerò di nuovo a Bologna.

04/04/2025: An elegant yet relaxed atmosphere, ideal for families and couples. The eggplant was perfect, as was the prime rib and everything else we ordered. We were lucky to book a table last minute and are very happy we did. Thanks for a delicious meal.

13/03/2025: It was suggested as a hidden gem in town and indeed it was. My partner spoke Italian and had some wonderful chat with the staff. The food was delicious and it didn't feel like all the other places that just offer heavy food. We had a fish soup with broccoli and the pasta with fish Ragu which was definitely a nice surprise. They change the menu every day so you might not get the same thing but if you are willing to try something new, this is the place to be. Definitely one of our favourite places in town in terms of flavour and new flavour profiles.

However, if I ask for a pizza with gorgonzola and speck (with speck in the oven) and you bring it to me without speck and then add it later, raw, maybe you will find the pain in the ass who will make you do it again. Let's say I'm not a pain in the ass 😂. And I ate it anyway and, I would say, with gusto. Until next time.

30/03/2025: Excellent restaurant and pizzeria, very kind and friendly staff, so far I have tried the fish and it was excellent, I will return to try the pizza too I recommend it
