12/01/2026: The pizza on the upper floor of Bar Pina used to be great - now it’s OUT OF THIS WORLD!! We had pizza there last evening and ate the all new sourdough version. The taste and texture were excellent! And now I don’t have to feel guilty indulging in this amazing pizza (I’m intolerant to yeast)! Bravo to Chef Roberto!!

24/02/2026: The facility was very beautiful. The room, we paid a little more for a superior one, was very nice. Beautiful bathroom, very clean, and a very comfortable bed. The spa was decent; let's say the pool was nice, along with the saunas and relaxation areas—minimum for a super 4-star hotel. My wife and I settled into a couple of loungers. I was just starting to relax and detox from a particularly stressful week when a receptionist arrived. She asked me if my wife's lounger next to me was occupied. I replied yes, and that my wife was three meters ahead of us, taking a dip in the pool. She kindly replied that it wasn't possible to use the loungers with towels or bathrobes. During the tour of the spa, we were only told to hang up our bathrobes. (We did this immediately.) The rule, however, I learned later, is that if you get up, you have to take everything away and hang it up. So if my wife gets up for a dip, she has to hang everything up, and if the spot is taken, she'll go somewhere else (and I'll get a new companion to chat with). I've been to many spas, but I've never seen anything like this. However, I want to give the hotel credit: the rule is there to make it easier for people to find a spot, given that the space is small, or at least not large enough for everyone to fit in during peak times. It's a shame that the rule is poorly written and explained (the feeling, as with us, is that it's not explained at all), with the predictable result that no one respects it. When I got up to take a bath, I took everything away. A guy, as soon as he saw me take my stuff away, came over, took my spot with his towel, and came to bathe with me. I then couldn't find a seat because all the seats were occupied with bathrobes or towels. No one respected the rule or seemed to know about it. Frankly, for a super 4-star hotel, this is a completely senseless management. Moreover, the attendant who spoke to me was clearing all the loungers, including those belonging to people in the sauna or elsewhere. When the occupant returned, someone else, unaware of the procedure, had taken up residence there in the meantime. The attendant only showed up once, long enough to ruin my spa experience. If you have rules, you're either in a position to enforce them effectively, or you forget it. A terrible experience that did everything but relieve stress... quite the opposite. The restaurant was expensive, but I must say the food was good. The prices were moderately high, the celery and chickpea hummus for €20 was unacceptable (I don't think calling it celery tataki changes the issue). The service was poor, with several minor errors and slowness. It was unforgivable that, when I asked for a specific wine, they brought me another one, the same grape variety but a different winery, without saying anything at all. The waiter simply started pouring the wine into my glass. When I reported it, I was told the one I'd chosen was sold out. If we'd been staying at a tavern, it would have been fine. Breakfast, again in keeping with the hotel's ostentatious lineage, was the bare minimum. The staff was very courteous and efficient. Special mention goes to the girl with glasses, the smartest and the only one, or almost, up to the task. The parking garage procedure was absurd. It's fine that you have to stop in one of the busiest parts of town to pick up the remote control from reception for the parking lot, which is 400 meters from the hotel. But having to return it at checkout, drive back to the hotel, find a parking spot in the busy area, get out, etc., is simply not an option. Furthermore, only after some persistence did it emerge that we could leave the remote control in a special mailbox in the garage itself. Hmm... In short, a very nice place. It's a shame about the haphazard management, which often doesn't live up to the star rating and asking price. It would take very little to make a stay pleasant.

21/01/2026: A well-stocked bar and tobacconist, a restaurant for good business lunches, and a small but well-stocked supermarket. This place has a long history and is popular with locals and workers. Excellent local cured meats and cheeses. Reservations are essential for lunch. They don't serve dinner.

21/02/2026: Unfortunately, living in Bologna, we don't come to this restaurant very often, but we always leave satisfied! The owner is truly kind and helpful, always happy to chat with guests. The food is always top-notch! Fresh fish, balanced flavors, and dishes that satisfy the palate while leaving you feeling light. The breadsticks brought to your table are also excellent. The wait staff is very friendly and efficient. Highly recommended!

29/12/2025: On Christmas Day, I had lunch at this delightful restaurant with my wife, and the feedback was very positive. The seafood dishes were well-prepared, and the tortellini in broth were excellent. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I recommend it!

08/03/2026: Small village tavern. Quiet and informal atmosphere, helpful, smiling, and friendly staff. We ate crescentine, tigelle, cold cuts, and desserts. Everything was excellent and high-quality. Definitely recommended +++++

22/02/2026: We found it by chance during a motorcycle ride; they found us two seats even though it was fully booked. The staff were extremely kind, helpful, friendly, and quick with service. The atmosphere is welcoming, warm, well-decorated, and not too noisy. The dishes are beautifully presented, and the quality of the meat is excellent. We ordered two slices of salt-baked beef fillet, and it was a wonderful discovery. The meat was exquisite, flavorful, and beautifully presented in a pan. The desserts were also excellent. Worth remembering as one of my favorite restaurants.

19/02/2026: A historic trattoria in Monghidoro. I recently went there for the first time with a friend for dinner. Very centrally located, small and welcoming, with a rustic, spartan atmosphere. The owner seems gruff at first glance, but he's kind and welcoming, and the wait staff is friendly and helpful. The fillet steak with mustard and brandy was excellent. Generous portions, everything was delicious. I expected the prices to be a little lower, but now they're in line with Bologna trattorias. Definitely worth a try, highly recommended!

07/03/2026: After years, I'm returning to this restaurant, and digging up the review I wrote the first time in 2016, I notice that the quality hasn't changed. I left feeling just as satisfied then as I did last night. A highly recommended place for à la carte lovers; the menu has limited choices, but plenty of quality, and everything is freshly prepared. Not recommended for overcooked meat eaters or vegetarians. 😅

15/02/2026: The food was delicious, the flavors were perfect and exactly to my liking. The service staff were fast, lovely, smiling, and friendly. The food came out very quickly. They had off-menu items that day. The rabbit meat was the most delicious, very tender. The desserts were also delicious. The wine tasted good. The restaurant was clean and beautifully decorated.

20/02/2026: We arrived, were warmly welcomed, and the food was divine (fried tosone and friggione, spinach flan on a spinach cream, and for the main course, Bolognese cutlet and liver stuffed with pork and bay leaves with caramelized onion. For dessert, zuppa inglese and tenerina) Barbera made by them. Everything was exceptional, and you can spend the night with your camper in their large parking lot. Highly recommended.

15/03/2026: A tavern where you can eat traditional food at a fair price. Welcoming staff, spacious tables for two. Located in an alleyway near the main roads, it's hard to find by chance if you're just passing by. The dishes are delicious, and the fillings are plentiful. The vintage signs on the walls are charming. To complete the experience, you absolutely must try their desserts displayed in the window; the cookies near the register are also delicious. A heartfelt tip: always ask for the bread; it's excellent, like a thick, doughy focaccia. Try it, you won't regret it. It's tempting to ask for seconds, but I wouldn't recommend it because the dishes are complete and there's no shortage of ingredients. Congratulations!

09/03/2026: This Bolognese restaurant in the center of Bologna is just steps from Corso Indipendenza and the city's main tourist attractions. The atmosphere is very comfortable, and the menu offers a limited number of dishes, all traditional and delicious. If you enjoy good food, I highly recommend it. Reservations are recommended.

Federica was a helpful and kind hostess. There will certainly be many more opportunities to enjoy everything this wonderful place has to offer.
