14/04/2026: An excellent restaurant in Matera's old town. We were seated upstairs in a charming, large vaulted room. Both the appetizers and our main courses were delicious—the only slight drawback was that one of the dishes was far too salty. Superb Italian wine list. Highly recommended.

08/04/2026: We dined at Soul Kitchen Matera as a couple and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The atmosphere is stylish yet relaxed – ideal for a cozy dinner for two. The service was very friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was pleasant without being intrusive. The food was of outstanding quality: fresh, creative, and perfectly balanced in flavor. You can tell that the chefs cook with passion. We were particularly impressed by the beautiful presentation and the harmonious aromas. The price-performance ratio is also excellent. We would gladly return and wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.

01/04/2026: My wife and son and I were in the beautiful city of Matera last week, and right below our B&B, we decided, at the recommendation of many locals, to try this excellent restaurant. We started with the traditional peperoni cruschi, then moved on to the excellent orecchiette with mushrooms and sausage and a traditional soup. But the real masterpiece was the dish that gives the restaurant its name: the Pignata. A pan covered in oven-baked bread containing tender and delicious sheep cooked for 18 hours with potatoes and carrots. We finished with a delicious, crunchy and bitter dessert. 05/01/2026: Extremely tasty place! Definitely the most delicious place in Matera! The quality /quantitiy ratio is absolutely perfect. The sandwiches are huge - keep this in mind if you are not very hungry and consider splitting it with someone as it would be a crime to throw even the leftovers of this food. You can tell that every ingredient is traditional and fresh. Combine the sandwich with a glass of Prosecco and you have “Heaven!”! The service is perfect, too! ❤️ The place is definitely worth visiting! 😊

The restaurant is refined and spotlessly clean, with a modern twist, preserving the historic character of the place. The food is excellent, a true delight for the palate. The ingredients are the foundation, enhanced with variations, without distorting the flavor, but making it more captivating and balanced. My compliments, especially for the surprising bill, which was fair and even lower than expected. Well done... I'll definitely return and recommend it...💫

07/04/2026: I dined two evenings at this wonderful little restaurant right in the city center, just steps from Piazza Vittorio Veneto. The charcuterie and cheese platter was excellent and plentiful, as were the other dishes we ate. Excellent value for money. Vito and Michele were friendly, professional, and kind. Highly recommended!

25/04/2026: We arrived by chance and luck, after a misadventure at another nearby restaurant. We were greeted by the owner's smile, who immediately showed us great hospitality. The restaurant, though a bit hidden, is truly welcoming, with attention to every detail: you can see the creativity and passion. We ordered sandwiches and bruschetta, and it's impossible to say which was better. Everything was excellent, prepared with care and with the highest quality ingredients. The price was very fair for the quality we received. A pleasant surprise that reconnected us with the hospitality of Matera.

Menu: 5/5 Excellent in every way: selection, variety, creativity, presentation. Each dish is the result of careful study, with a narrative involving ingredients, cutlery, and tableware, a multi-sensory experience. You don't just eat: you experience a journey. Such a strong coherence between idea and execution is rare. The wine list is worthy of note, with a carefully selected and extensive selection. Service: 4/5 Precise, welcoming, professional. The food and wine recommendations are spot on. The only limitation is numerical: additional staff in the dining room would ensure even greater fluidity. The menu selection via QR code is less appealing, as it clashes with the level of experience and forces the use of a phone in a context that deserves the opposite. Bill: 4/5 Significant, but justified. The quality of the ingredients, the creativity, and the care put into each individual dish are reflected in the price. You pay for serious work, and it's worth it. Haute cuisine with a local identity and a personal vision. An experience that justifies the trip.
