19/05/2025: My boyfriend and I ate the Classic style Burgers, very very good and the portions were generous.

27/04/2025: Local in the historic center of Matera. Outside seating. An interesting menu with a wide choice of dishes and not just wraps. Good raw materials, well cooked dishes and wraps. Artisanal piadinas that are really light and digestible. The piadinas are also well seasoned!! Good service, the waitress super attentive and kind. The owner is an affable and customer-focused person. Average prices for the place where it is located. There's a few euros more. I recommend it to everyone for a quick stop without weighing you down to continue exploring Matera and its beauties!!

20/02/2025: Small restaurant in a residential area. Lots of parking but always occupied by residents who live in the area. Food: appetizers failed, I didn't like the fried foods they offer, burnt and dry. Decent first courses. Excellent desserts. In short, no too many demands

04/05/2025: This restaurant deserves a Michelin star just for the environment alone if that was possible. Well combine that with wonderful food and service and that could be a possibility. I won't go through our food selections (4 couples) but needless to say we all enjoyed our various courses.

01/05/2025: The food was really very good, but the service, especially the manager or head of the room, was very unfriendly from the beginning. We waited 1 hour between the first and the second and the manager, instead of apologizing, responded rudely to our request and made the absurd excuse that the restaurant was full and they only had one kitchen. Regrettable.

09/04/2025: Con i miei amici gastronomi, abbiamo scelto la Locanda dell’Abate a Montescaglioso per un pranzo fuori porta. Siamo stati accolti con grande cordialità, e lo chef e titolare, il signor Giuseppe, ci ha guidati nella scelta dei vini per accompagnare l’esperienza. L’antipasto di mare ci ha conquistati con il tentacolo di polpo arrosto e le seppie cotte nel mezzo limone, sprigionando profumi delicati e un perfetto equilibrio tra tenerezza e acidità. Il legame con il territorio si è fatto sentire con la cipolla in agro. I ravioli di pesce, avvolti in una salsa di pomodoro leggermente acidula, hanno offerto un contrasto raffinato, mentre i gamberoni in crosta sono stati semplicemente eccellenti. L’atmosfera raccolta, grazie ai pochi tavoli in sala, ha reso la conversazione piacevole e conviviale. Concludiamo questa esperienza domenicale con un plauso allo chef Giuseppe per l’ottima organizzazione e la qualità delle portate. Torneremo presto!

We opted for a chef's plate to share between 2 and it was excellent for discovering the local cuisine. Very good quality products and a wide variety! The service also very friendly and pleasant. 05/05/2025: Small but welcoming place overall. Kind, professional and friendly staff, they know how to pamper guests. The cuisine is truly a continuous surprise with its culinary journey starting from the starters, not entirely obvious, poached eggs with asparagus and speak, potatoes with peel, porcini mushrooms and fontina, bombettine, omelette flan with almonds etc etc pave the way for the subsequent surprises. Exceptional first course, scialatiello with cheese fondue, porcini mushrooms and truffle is a delicacy. To then get to the top of the range: the mixed roast... An explosion of flavours, cut cooked to perfection and very high quality meat, suckling pig in the oven, a delicacy. The wine and prosecco list, as well as the choice of beers, close the frame in a super way. Congratulations to all the staff.
