20/11/2025: We were looking for a place that represented the island in the best way and that's what we got. The ambiance is unique and priceless. All the food for the entire restaurant was prepared by one chef and he prepared incredibly delicious dishes. The waiter who served us deserves the highest rating. We sat on an isolated terrace with 1 table with a romantic view and it was pure enjoyment. We had pasta made from local fish and local fish for the main course. All this with local wine. The way of preparing both the pasta and the fish is unique. Pure enjoyment.
23/10/2025: Great food, the fella serving was incredibly efficient and still very friendly and helpsome. He also seems to speak all languages in southern Europe.

05/10/2025: Agriristoro: A somewhat overused term in its genre... ... But at "il giardino" you'll find the true essence! The delightful hosts welcome you into their home and make you feel like a "family guest" from the moment you arrive. The place is beautiful, inside, out, and all around. The small outdoor garden and the little furry friends Piero and Gino complete the picture. The chef is truly brilliant: she offers daily diners a "fixed menu for THAT day ONLY," which the first person to call decides based on what's fresh on offer... You always land on your feet! Freshness and authenticity are the watchwords: from the garden vegetables in the appetizer to the Portuguese milk in the grandmother's dessert! Everything was so good that the photos didn't even reach the main courses (roasted suckling pig and fried mushrooms... By the way!!) and stopped at what were the best and most heartwarming homemade ravioli I've ever eaten. Everything was excellent, even down to the bitter taste. The price was very fair for the experience, and I'll see you next time!

30/08/2025: Wanting to try the entire menu, I'll definitely be back! The cakes, polenta, and grilled meats especially. A historic place, with a touch of innovation, deliciousness, and friendliness, all immersed in nature! The kitchen and dining room staff do an excellent job, coordinated by the manager Francesco, who makes you feel right at home! Even if the weather isn't good, the walk from both Sestriere and Borgata is worth it: the reward at the end is tempting!

31/10/2025: Update October 2025: We returned after a year and I stand by my previous review. Everything was excellent. ******* A place to recommend! We stopped by chance and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the dishes we tried. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the menu catered to all tastes, and the house wine was excellent. We ordered Chianina beef carpaccio, pappardella with wild boar ragù, and the Cinta Senese steak. Excellent value for money.

11/12/2025: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Finally, a pizza in Milan that's not the overpriced Neapolitan one or the usual low-quality ones! We ordered takeout and were extremely satisfied: fresh ingredients, really good dough, and super fast service. A discovery we'd been missing in the area; since we discovered it, we haven't ordered anything else!

16/11/2025: How do you sum up a place like Old Grizzly? Simply amazing! Chosen primarily for its proximity to Aymavilles Castle (about 600 meters) and the excellent reviews, I stopped in thinking I'd eat good food, but without any particular expectations. The menu, however, was much more unique and delicious than I'd imagined; it was truly difficult to choose what to try, but in the end I opted for fried porcini mushrooms with aioli sauce (fried beautifully, and the sauce was a wonderful accompaniment) and mirtuccine with fondue and berries (wonderful, a perfect combination of the softness of the cheese and the acidity of the berries). A special mention goes to the dessert. I don't think I've ever taken so long to decide what to order; everything looked excellent, but in the end I chose the deconstructed tiramisu. It's one of my favorite desserts, but I never order it because I'm always disappointed, much less dare I hear "deconstructed" (usually a prelude to pastry tragedy). However, I was won over by the excellent quality of the previous dishes. It was exceptional, beautifully and elegantly presented, excellent coffee, spectacular ladyfingers, and a rich yet delicate cream, absolutely perfect. Another positive note: they serve an amuse-bouche before starting (unfortunately, I didn't get to try it, but it looked lovely) and a small pre-dessert (mandarin and vodka sorbet, delicious and perfect for cleansing the palate, especially after fairly fatty foods), a truly pleasant surprise. The staff are kind and attentive, the atmosphere is very unique, refined, and fun, and the price is absolutely right for the quality of the meal. It's just a shame I live too far away to return often!
12/11/2025: My partner and I paid a visit to Castello di Aymavilles on the 17th of June 2023. We left the venue after 6.30 pm and walked a few hundred metres to the Old Grizzly to have a drink to quench the heat of the summer, and to decide on dinner thereafter. We were met by a waitress at the entrance. My partner asked if we could order a drink. The waitress told us the establishment is a restaurant and not a bar, and so refused to serve us. I asked again if we could just order a coffee first, and again the waitress reiterated that the establishment is a restaurant and not a bar, and turned us away. The restaurant was not full at that time (it was at 7pm thereabout) for I only saw a table of 6 in the outdoor sitting. I just wonder why the waitress could not just accommodate us, let us have our coffee and open up the opportunity for us to stay for dinner. Seriously, does a coffee take up a lot of time when the restaurant was not yet full? True, we had at that time not decided on what to eat, but we could easily had dined at the Old Grizzly. If the night was fully booked, the waitress could kindly let us know, and we would be on our way. To turn away customers abruptly, in my humble opinion, is a cardinal sin in the food and beverage industry. Perhaps it is the culture, or it could be some unbending rule that does not make sense. In reply to the owner of this establishment. If I can read Italian, I am sure I will observe your rules. Again, your "rule" is silly, but that is you of course. To further add to your blatant lie, why was there a table of 6 already seated before 7 pm when your "rules" stated service starts at 7.15 pm? What a laugh. This is in response to your claim that the six seated were your staff members having their meal before the dinner service. My memory serves me very clearly that two of the women at the table were wearing bright colored dresses, attire that is more in line with going out for a dinner at a reputable establishment than serving at one. The two of your waitresses I saw, one who turned us away at the entrance into the establishment, and the other who was serving the table of six, wore long black pants and both had similar tops. I am hard-pressed to believe that the six seated at the table were staff of the restaurant. Perhaps you can explain to me if it is customary for your staff to be drinking bottles of wine before dinner service? PSS: My memory is clear, though you may have trouble with yours. Sure, you can do whatever you wish at your own establishment, but I had caught you lying. You obviously have no shame in defending your lies, so I will simply take it that you too arrogant to humble yourself and take criticism. Your timetable is in Italian, and you clearly feel that everyone should be able to read Italian. Either make a bigger timetable which non-italian speakers can read, or train your staff what customer service is all about, and then you can start running your mouth off here. Pathetic. PSSS : There is no exaggeration on my part. I merely pointed out the irrefutable truth. Your lies are still lies, two years ago, today or ten years from now. As long as you propagate your untruths, I will call you out. Yes, liars like you will remain in my thoughts as long as you wish, if that pleases you. You not replying? I am not holding my breath. PSSSS : You lied. You said previously you had your last word, but here you are, whining again. There is no invention on my part for all that I have related is the truth, God is my witness. When did I mention that I arrived at closing time? Obviously, you have not learned to read. I accept facts, but do not expect me to accept your lies. You failed to realise that I did not make a purposeful visit to your restaurant based on this platform, though I am using this platform to expose your lies. Only losers and unrepentant liars need to resort to threats. By all means, report this post to Google, and it will not change the truth of the matter that you lied. I dare you not to respond to me.

28/09/2025: We dined, favoring dishes from the mushroom menu. The small complimentary aperitif on the house was very welcome, a rare treat. The Fassone tartare was delicious, both the light seasoning and the presentation were much appreciated. The squares of blue Lanzo pumpkin and walnuts were noteworthy. The aged Angus entrecote was tasty and well-cooked (it was claimed to have been aged for 60 days, but there were some reservations). To finish, a hot zabaglione with biscuits, delicious as always. The staff was very attentive, helpful, and courteous. The wine list was well-stocked with interesting labels. Prices were reasonable and suited to all budgets (set menus and buffet appetizers are also available).

My wife and I were captivated by your kindness and the old-fashioned flavors, served with class and elegance. I rarely eat like this, and in any case, we've been to quite a few restaurants, but if we return, we'll eat at Osteria al Forno di Agnese. Thank you.
