18/03/2025: I like the food and the atmosphere but from tonight I won't go there anymore. The service, always very slow, today was terrible. We were practically forgotten at the table. When they took our orders and served a table that arrived after us (naturally with the usual slowness), we left. Above all, I don't accept it because it is a place that boasts a certain depth, with prices that are certainly not pizzeria-like, and the service should be of another level.

24/02/2025: Three of us ate for lunch. There was a work menu for 15 euros. The waitress looked like she had stepped out of a funeral. He didn't smile even if you smiled back at him. We specifically asked if we could do the reduced menu just to keep us light before a show. Who said it was possible. Leaving aside that my colleague's first course was inedible. Passed off as homemade, San Daniele tasted like spoiled cotechino. (And I usually never complain about the dishes eh) The roast was edible, perhaps the only good thing we found. The chop was half raw and old. Nothing special. As if that wasn't enough, when we get to the cash register, they pretend to forget that we took the reduced menu, and make us pay for three full menus. Which I repeat if we had told ourselves we would have ordered them. It seems like a bit of a joke to me. Especially considering how bold they were. Absolutely not recommended, you will find better places just a few steps away. Trust me.

18/03/2025: Assolutamente non in linea con il prezzo pagato una bistecchina di manzo e pollo e verdura, siamo arrivati tardi a mangiare essendo gli ultimi sembrava desse fastidio la nostra presenza, pagato 38 euro a testa, usciti sulla terrazza dopo cinque minuti spegnevano le luci esterne costringendoci a uscire nel parcheggio con le luci dei telefonini, bello schifo vergogna, mai più in questo ristorante

02/02/2025: Die Bar Gran Malabar, oder wie die Triestiner sagen, das Mala, oder die Malabar ist immer einen Besuch wert. Das kleine Lokal hat einst Geschichte geschrieben und die teils beeindruckenden Leistungen der Winzer der Region in die Welt getragen. Für alte Stammgäste wie mich ist es natürlich traurig, dass Walter und Mario mittlerweile im Ruhestand sind, aber zumindest Mario ist noch sehr dahinter, und es geht kaum ein Tag, an dem er nicht nach dem Rechten schaut. Die Nachfolger kommen großteils aus der alten Mannschaft, und sie machen einen ausgezeichneten Job. Die angebotenen Produkte variieren, nach wie vor gibt es kleine Snacks und immer noch Getränke al banco, man kann sie sich aber auch servieren lassen (dann kostet, wie in Italien durchaus üblich - alle Produkte um 1€ mehr. Nach wie vor ist die Malabar ein Fixpunkt der Stadt, die Atmosphäre ist immer noch einzigartig und die Produkte vorzüglich.

01/04/2025: Even though the place was a bit noisy, the pizza with cereal dough was very good (it sells out quickly if you arrive after 9 pm). The kindness of the staff makes the difference. The desserts, especially the cakes, are spectacular! As soon as I have the chance, I will go back. Reservations required.

26/03/2025: At midday only workers' lunch and pizza. Average food quality, not very tasty pizza, average first courses. Waitresses rude and annoyed for any request. At the checkout I paid with a 50 euro note, the lady got angry and snorted in our faces because she didn't have change to give. We had lunch next to a technician who was installing a stove at half past twelve, with cables in the middle of the room and the poor technician who had to do the tests while people ate. I don't think we will return.

17/04/2025: Best pizza within 100 km. Very friendly staff. Prices are reasonable.

10/04/2025: The pizza was excellent, as was the fish starter, the service was fast, the waiters were friendly and empathetic, it's a shame that the place is a bit retro

31/03/2025: We happened upon this restaurant by chance and were pleasantly surprised. The staff were very friendly, the ambience delightful with a veranda overlooking the sea, the menu was excellent, both meat and fish, the dishes were excellent and well presented. Highly recommended.
