L'Osteria di Giovanni In Firenze

L'Osteria di Gianni was one of the highlights of our time in Florence. We were a party of 23, and the staff handled our large group flawlessly. Every dish arrived perfectly prepared, and the service was exceptional from start to finish. We started with the tomato bruschetta and the Caprese salad with creamy burrata and ripe tomatoes—both were fresh, vibrant, and perfect for a warm summer evening. The prosciutto was sliced paper-thin, beautifully flavorful without being overly salty. The fried zucchini blossoms were light, crisp, and delicately fluffy. For my main course, I had the homemade pici pasta with sausage and kale ragù, and it was absolutely outstanding. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the rich, savory ragù was full of flavor. The children ordered pasta with pesto sauce which they said was delicious and exactly the way they like it. Others in our group couldn't stop talking about their steaks, which were cooked to perfection and received rave reviews all around. It's not easy to deliver an exceptional dining experience for a group of 23, but L'Osteria di Gianni did exactly that. Delicious food, attentive service, and flawless execution made for a memorable evening. I would happily return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Florence.

Excellent food in the traditional Italian restaurant - calamari to start which was beautifully cooked followed by fillet steak. Tiramisu to finish washed down with a bottle of Chianti which was reasonably priced. €140 including tip for 2 of us - would recommend

This is a restaurant that gives the best of fine dining in a more family friendly environment. The food is so, so, so good. The goose carpaccio was everything. The filet mignon generous and expertly cooked. Really - wonderful ! Little touches like starting with fried dough, ending with lemon sorbet, and having staff that can help in English made the whole thing perfect.

This place is truly amazing. We had dinner here as a group of three. Before the meal, two of my friends shared an appetizer, and since I was not planning to order one myself, the staff thoughtfully brought me a complimentary appetizer as well so I would not be left out. That small gesture alone says a lot about how attentive and welcoming they are. Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious. The staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful throughout the evening. The interior, with its beautiful paintings and elegant design, creates a wonderful atmosphere. They also offer complimentary treats before and after the meal, and every single one was delicious (especially Biscotties:) Without a doubt, this was the best dining experience we had in Florence. I highly recommend this place!

We chose L’Osteria di Giovanni for our last dinner in Florence, and it was the perfect way to end our trip. The food was excellent, but what truly made this place special was the service. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome and looked after us with incredible warmth and attention to detail. We ordered a Bistecca alla Fiorentina and asked if we could swap the standard side dish. Instead of simply replacing it, they served us both the roasted potatoes and the sautéed spinach, explaining that the potatoes were complimentary. After our main course, they surprised us with a refreshing lemon sorbet on the house before dessert. To finish the evening, we ordered a Limoncello, and they left the entire bottle at our table, inviting us to help ourselves. These weren’t grand gestures—they were thoughtful, heartfelt touches that made us feel truly appreciated as guests. You can tell that the team genuinely enjoys making people happy, and that kind of hospitality is something you don’t experience every day. If you’re looking for authentic Tuscan cuisine paired with exceptional hospitality, this is the place to go. We would return without hesitation.

Amazing restaurant with great service!!! We had octopus as appetizer which was amazing and then the steak and pasta.. everything was unique and great plus nice surprises from the restaurant! Highly recommend
