08/04/2025: I often come here with a friend (he actually introduced me to this place) and what can I say... HUGE and super tasty sandwiches! Mouth-watering 🤤😂 The environment is very nice and welcoming, and the desserts are also really delicious. The waiters are also very nice and kind! Highly recommended!

26/03/2025: I can't wait to return to Siena just to return to this precious Bottega (an adjective not chosen by chance because it is a jewel). The environment is characteristic and while waiting you can get lost observing, in addition to the counter with all its raw materials and preparations excellent even to the sight, everything that over the years has contributed to embellishing the place: thoughts, quotes, reviews, objects... As for the food, we opted for three sandwiches to share: caramelized cherry tomatoes with truffle, aged pecorino and Cinta Senese ham; pork "elixir" (a heavenly cream of lard), fresh pecorino and wild garlic pesto; and porchetta with honey mustard. I couldn't choose my favorite because they were all exquisite! To accompany them, two glasses of local red wine recommended by Angelo, also these were incredible. Entering "Gino Cacino" is not only a culinary experience, but a humanly enriching one: from the coming and going of visitors and their stories (impossible not to exchange a few words during the meal), to the mastery and care that Angelo reserves for the service. Every minute spent here is worth living. Thank you Angelo!

02/10/2024: Wonderful place to stay. Our 2nd year here, and we have booked for next year also. Amazing views, wonderful pool area. The service provided by Max, Neila and Luciano is fantastic. Very central, so easy to drive to other places, Volterra, Sienna, San Gimingnano, etc. Casole is a short walk away for bars and other places to eat. Il Colombaio, the restaurant pizzeria is about 5m away from the front of Tenuta Colombaio. Different businesses, but very very handy, good food. Make sure you book or you may not get a table. Can't wait to get back!

24/09/2024: We will definitely return to such a vibrant place in all its aspects. The room IL COLOMBAIO on two levels (living room, bedroom and bathroom in the attic), truly immense and functional. The abundant breakfast served by a valid and kind collaborator. The gardens and the swimming pool cared for in detail. 17/02/2025: Trattoria da me frequentata molto spesso. La cucina è ottima, con tutti i piatti della tradizione culinaria fiorentina. Personale molto gentile e cortese. Locale storico, con arredamento molto curato. Il bello è che si condivide il tavolo con altri e questo aiuta la convivialità 👍

17/01/2025: Locale pessimo, servizio decisamente al di sotto di quelli di una bettola, cibo mediocre, carne arrivata fredda esattamente come il caffè. Non esiste spazio di movimento, i giubbotti vengono ritirati a mano come fossi a casa di tuo zio che beve troppo, probabilmente proprio del vino della casa che sembra più aceto. A conclusione il conto totalmente arbitrario e fuori sia dai riferimenti che danno e sia dalle logiche del mercato, nonché altissimo per la mediocrità del cibo. Sconsiglio anche solo di passarci davanti e consiglio di leggere la seconda pagina di recensioni poiché hanno palesemente riempito la prima di recensioni filler.

15/09/2024: What was supposed to be amazing birthday dinner turned into a night of horror and disgust which left me with trauma for life when I ate dinner at this restaurant. I messaged ahead of the reservation to confirm they served gluten free and vegetarian food. I have been vegetarian my entire life, never had meat or shellfish. Once I ordered my vegetarian dish at the restaurant, food appeared and I started eating. Soon after I realized that this wasn’t the dish I ordered and I confronted the server hoping for him to prove me wrong. Unfortunately they had given me shellfish with my pasta and I couldn’t tell the difference until it was too late. Since I never had shellfish in my life, i didn’t know I could be possibly allergic to it. I started to hyperventilate and later that night my throat started to close up and rash appeared on my neck and cheeks. I threw up all night long and all of this was caused by carelessness of the server, the chef and my own lack of ability to differentiate between a meat dish and a vegetarian dish. I had high hopes but now I am so disappointed in this establishment. This incident goes to show how little attention they pay to people’s life threatening allergies and dietary restrictions when they claim to be one of the best in town. I am glad I found out that I’m allergic to crustaceans but I wish I didn’t have to find it this way. I hope everyone learnt a valuable lesson at my expense. PLEASE pay attention to allergies. Due to your negligence, Someone’s life could be in grave danger if they’re severely allergic to something.

20/03/2025: The place is beautiful and there are even small private caves so you can eat in peace and quiet. Friendly and helpful staff, you feel at ease like at home in perfect harmony with the intimacy of the place. Not to mention the most important aspect, the food: what can I say, you eat very well and at the right price. Absolutely recommended!

27/02/2025: Da non ritornarci Ho pranzato in questo ristorante con un amico! Sala da pranzo estremamente piccola e rumorosa! Poi abbiamo ordinato una bottiglia di vino ed acqua minerale! Abbiamo chiesto un vino della casa e ci hanno portato una bottiglia di vino dozzinale che nel supermercato costa tre o quattro euro nel conto la abbiamo pagata 20 € il problema non era il prezzo! Era veramente cattivo! Poi siamo passati ad ordinare i primi. Io ho ordinato una zuppa lombarda ed il mio amico una minestra di farro! La zuppa lombarda era assolutamente insipida , acquosa non aveva niente a che vedere con la zuppa lombarda che si fa in Toscana! Il mio amico idem con la minestra di farro! Si vedeva chiaramente che i piatti erano stati preparati giorni prima e tra l’altro riscaldati male! Abbiamo poi ordinato due filetti con verdura cotta! La qualità non era eccezionale ma il prezzo dei due filetti di 30 euro cadauno per un pezzo di carne di 200 grammi piu o meno 30 € cadauno per un totale di 60€ mi sembra a dire poco esagerato!!!!!! Abbiamo concluso il pranzo con un caffè! Un conto di 126,50 € data la qualità del cibo ed il tipo di ristorante mi sembra a dir poco esagerato!!!!!!! Da non ritornarci!!!!!

22/02/2025: Locale davvero molto accogliente, menù molto assortito dove si possono degustare sia grandi classici che prodotti locali davvero molto buoni, ottimo per chi desidera assaggiare la vera cucina toscana.

24/03/2025: Una accoglienza stratosferica da parte di tutto lo staff che gestisce il tutto garantendo una atmosfera familiare. Piatti tutti squisiti, ma menzione particolare per i Pici cacio e pepe. Davvero ottimi. Se andate a Pienza fermatevi a pranzo qui!!!!
