Wonderful place, wonderful staff, and fantastic food! They specially prepared a vegan aperitif for us (unfortunately, except for the appetizer, everything else was cleared away before we even took a photo!) and advised us on the wine selection. We had a wonderful time, I absolutely recommend it!!

On our way to San Gimignano, we made a spontaneous stop here, were drawn to the old building, and decided to have a light lunch on the terrace. The pici al aglione and the chitarrino al farro were beautifully presented and very tasty. The portion, which was relatively small, was perfect for lunch. For dessert, we had tagliata pineapple, which was very refreshing in the heat. The tiramisu was also delicious and rich. The service was very efficient and attentive.

I travel from the UK, and this is my 3rd year visiting Portanova. I will be coming back next year, it is my favourite restaurant in Colle di Val D’Elsa

We were there at the beginning of June! It was truly something special! The food was really good :) I would definitely recommend making a reservation!

20/06/2026: We had lunch at this very local feeling spot. We didn't understand where to sit and no one was directing us so we took a seat at an open table (I think it was more the bar area), but were taken down to the dining room minutes later. Wonderful pasta. We were the only tourists there. Menu is not in English which was not a problem. Overall a great stop and we will be back!
30/05/2026: I've been here several times over the past 20 years. After a few years off, I returned for lunch and was disappointed. Two side dishes, served on a single, truly paltry plate. The famous pork grill for two people: two sausages, half a slice of rigatina each, half a pork steak, and four small rosticciane. It's certainly delicious (we didn't order it), but the Fiorentina steak at €65 is definitely the highest price I've seen on a menu in the area in recent years. I should try the fried fish again, which I loved so much here. But overall, the last experience was a negative one.

07/05/2026: A family-run trattoria, just like it used to be. The food is good and the service is decent. The quality/price ratio is good. The graffiti on the walls is charming. Highly recommended.
03/05/2026: My wife and I discovered this fantastic restaurant in Buonconvento. The home-cooked menu is incredibly satisfying, the waiters are friendly, and the walls are beautiful. We highly recommend it!
