04/05/2026: The food is average, but some main courses could be better, given the price. The main course is only tagliata (a slice of beef); the rest, like the first courses, is all fish (à la carte menu).

08/05/2026: I paid my bill with a Wise Visa card which I use extensively in Europe for euro purchases. For some reason the bill was charged in Canadian dollars with a very poor exchange rate. I pointed this out to the waiter and he said he can’t change it so I paid. This is the first time this has happened on my Europe trip using my Wise card. Even used it at the same restaurant this morning and it processed in euros. I then asked the server if they could reverse the charge so I could pay the correct amount in cash euros. He said this could not be done. When I got home, I noticed the printed receipt has a note saying “I have been offered the choice of currency”. I clearly wasn’t given a choice. Someone is taking advantage of me. Either the vendor or the the transaction company ‘flat pay’

15/03/2026: From the outside and the reviews, I thought it was a less touristy place, but I was wrong. Small and touristy, but poor quality. We ordered two starters, where the pasta was overcooked and tasteless, a meat-based main course, the only good thing being the good-quality cherry tomatoes, and a dessert that, at the end of the meal, was decent. The price was over €20 per person, which was excessive for the quality of the ingredients.

13/03/2026: The waiter (I think Luigi himself) was super friendly and made for a very pleasant dinner. Not only were we served very well, but the food was also really delicious! Definitely recommended!

18/05/2026: Fabulous, typical Sicilian meal. The best restaurant we visited during our three-week tour of Sicily. And to top it all off, the prices are very competitive.

15/05/2026: While visiting Sicily with my family, we stumbled upon this restaurant where locals come to eat. We had a wonderful time chatting and discovering new things with the other customers and servers. The authentic Sicilian cuisine was expertly prepared, including specialties like pasta with sardines, broad beans, involtini, ricotta cones, stuffed sardines, and more. In short, everything was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant to all tourists to experience authentic Sicilian cuisine at very reasonable prices. Bravo and gracie!

21/04/2026: Bravissimo! I first saw this restaurant in a video with Chef Giovanni making caponata. I followed his work in that video and have been making my caponata very similar to his. We're in Ortiga for the week and had a chance to dine here. The outstanding service started with Roberto carried through right the rest of the staff to the end of the evening.

07/06/2026: The short version: YOU MUST VISIT THIS RESTAURANT. No need to say much: This restaurant is above the rest. They serve Sicilian cuisine, creatively and subtly updated with a French touch, without ever becoming mannered. Beautiful, authentic Mediterranean interior, professional service. The food is magic. We've been there twice.

05/06/2026: What a warm welcome on the beautifully decorated terrace of this restaurant where everything is delicious! A delightful surprise awaited us with three refined amuse-bouches, a choice of starters including fresh chanterelles, perfectly cooked pasta, and fish accompanied by peas – a simple yet exquisite dish. A place where they truly go the extra mile. Thank you again for this lovely evening.

20/05/2026: Absolutely delicious! We stopped by chance and I'm still blown away. It's so good and the waiter is so kind. We've only just had an appetizer and I already want the world to discover this restaurant. Bravo! I highly recommend it.

23/03/2026: Excellent restaurant. The atmosphere is quaint, well-maintained, and welcoming. The dining room is small, and the acoustics are acceptable. The menu is remarkable, a true guided journey through Sicilian cuisine. Also noteworthy is the assistance provided by the restaurant manager, who speaks excellent English and explains the menu's highlights, even to foreign guests. It's not exactly cheap, but quality and service come at a price. Well done!

19/03/2026: I'm giving 5 stars only because I can't give 6... Excellent! I haven't eaten Sicilian cuisine of this caliber since the "Pirandello" days in Milan. Even some Sicilian colleagues visiting were amazed. Everything was excellent, the ingredients were very fresh, the restaurant was very well-maintained, and the service was very courteous and professional. Suppliers and colleagues were definitely appreciative. If I may, I'd add a pasta dish with anchovy sauce to the menu. I'm sure that would be exceptional too.

13/06/2026: At Via Trento 14, in the heart of Ortigia, on a cool June evening we discovered a true gem of Sicilian dining. We love and know Sicilian cuisine well. But "Ci Voleva" truly surprised us with its combination of professionalism, constant yet extremely discreet customer service, and the quality and freshness of the ingredients. Francesco welcomed us with a beautiful smile. We sat outside, and the wait was very short. I greatly appreciated Francesco's care in suggesting a pairing with the freshest octopus, having the chef prepare a cream that took into account some of my intolerances. My husband chose the linguine alla Ragusana. Ecstasy! During our stay in Syracuse, we will return (the restaurant opens continuously at 10:30 am) to enjoy the extensive menu once again and to meet Giusy's smile once again. Last but not least, excellent value for money. ..."It was needed" ..."It was worth it"!!!

04/05/2026: We came to Ke Palle for dinner. We ordered three different arancine – Ragù, Butter, and Cacio e pepe. The rice balls were amazing! The place is small but cozy. They offer a wide selection of balls. You can also try the sweet version – with Nutella or pistachio :)

08/06/2026: We happened to walk past the restaurant and got a wonderful table even without a reservation. The welcome was warm, and the waiter explained the menu to us in detail in German. The fish, oysters, spaghetti, and wine were all excellent. We'll be back!
