04/12/2025: Not only do they charge a standard 3 euro cover charge, but they also add a 15% tip. I paid 22 euros for food and drink, plus 6.50 euros for their "extras." That's almost 30%. I think that's a lot.

29/11/2025: I have been living in Rome for 3 years and this is my worst ever experience so far. I don’t even know where to start. From the people working there that speak to you like you are not their client but their enemy or the intimidating old man that none of the people working at the restaurant did anything about? The staff is extremely rude and unprofessional. I have asked advice from a waiter about what I should order and he recommended me a pasta dish. When it came there was absolutely no taste in the sauce, it felt like it was store bought and the past was clearly UNDERCOOKED not al dente at all because it was sticking to the teeth. I have returned the full dish being barely touched to another waiter saying it is not good and asked for a substitute. The second pasta was better but still nothing special considering how many amazing restaurants there are in Rome. When we have gone to the cashier to pay they had given us the bill with both pasta’s in it. The waiter was extremely rude to tell me that it is my fault that I didn’t like the pasta and that “they have thrown it away so they have spent money on it” and on my concern that the pasta was not well made he said that “so if you didn’t like it maybe you won’t come here again”. It is really not about the money that I have paid for that extra dish but about the client service that is non existent in that restaurant and moreover the unprofessional behaviour of the staff arguing with me that it is all my fault, which I have never seen in any other restaurant not only in Rome but anywhere in the world and I have traveled a lot. Anyone who thinks of going here for a pretty vibe, really don’t bother as there are so many other places where people actually value their clients and they quality of their food and would never do such thing as they want to make a good impression of themselves and get clients to come back. Adding to this experience there was an old guy that was trying to talk to ask non stop for the whole night, who then sat down at our table while we were eating which made me extremely uncomfortable and of course the staff didn’t even apologise or do something about it. Overall this man made the experience even worse as we came there to talk with a friend for dinner, not to feel intimidated by a creepy guy. The restaurant did know the man and they were absolutely fine with him making us feel uncomfortable

15/11/2025: There's much better in Rome. The staff is courteous and attentive to the customer's needs. But the food isn't up to par: the gricia tastes only of salt, the lamb isn't memorable, and the dessert is too cloying. I won't be returning.

14/11/2025: We tried the carbonara, saltimbocca, chicory, cherry tart and tiramisu. Everything tasted delicious and some items are harder to find elsewhere 😋

20/05/2025: Piacevole scoperta in un quartiere ancora vivibile e poco conosciuto. Locale molto spazioso con ampio spazio esterno. Atmosfera vivace e familiare da osteria di quartiere. Personale amichevole e spontaneo. Cibo curato e di buona qualità. Sicuramente ci tornerò in una prossima sera d’estate.

10/12/2025: Good evening Yesterday morning, December 8, 2025, we decided to have breakfast at your place. The waitress who took our order was very kind. We ordered three coffees, a cappuccino, and four croissants, but the barista behind the counter didn't bring us three coffees and one cappuccino until a while later. The coffees and cappuccino had gone cold. After a prompt from us, they brought us the croissants. The waitress apologized, but we noticed because we were sitting near the counter. The waitress argued with the barista a bit about how long we waited for the croissants. Anyway, you can pay €30. That's fine on Via del Corso, but it's not fair that they don't bring four glasses of water after breakfast, as is customary. I'm sorry.

04/11/2025: An authentic restaurant, offering typical and varied cuisine, using genuine, delicious, quality ingredients. The service is friendly, polite, professional, and welcoming. At Matriciana ai Consoli, you feel welcomed, pampered, and relaxed because you feel good.

13/12/2025: A frosty welcome, just like the osso buco, by the way. Dry bread that cost extra, and an awful endive. Impolite waiters and filthy toilets. A consistently awful experience!

13/12/2025: The mediocre slice of bread was charged at €2, making a total of €10. We were offered a choice of three digestifs, implying they were complimentary, as is the case in most restaurants. But they weren't charged. The waiter was awful. A restaurant to avoid if you want to have a pleasant evening.

06/12/2025: Let's just say the pasta with meat sauce was plain pasta with a ladleful of sauce in the center. I ate something similar in Scotland. I remember it with horror and nostalgia. I understand the rush, but mixing it? I don't know, but that's nothing compared to the treatment from the two waitresses. I've never had so many insults, scoldings, dirty looks, they hate people, I've never been treated worse. So much so that in the end we laughed about it because it was so exaggerated it seemed like a joke. I actually heard swear words directed at us under my breath. Now... I mean, I'm paying you... it's your job... you hate it... okay... but I have nothing to do with it. I feel sorry for the non-Romans who might think this is the rule and that we Romans are all like this. If you read this review, I apologize for them... sincerely, try going a little outside of Trastevere... maybe they'll treat you kindly.

06/12/2025: We had been recommended this place on a free tour and chose it for lunch. The place is popular and usually busy. Our first surprise came when we were shown in and seated at a table with several people (obviously strangers) and told there was availability. We noticed this was common practice at the restaurant, as they would seat a couple, a family, and two friends at the same table without any of them knowing each other. The second surprise came with the bathrooms, an absolute disgrace, like something out of the 15th century, where you could easily catch all sorts of diseases. As for the food, it was average, a typical place, but with too much eagerness to serve everything quickly and fill every last bit of space. The final straw was when, after finishing our meal, we asked if they had any herbal teas and were treated rudely, practically told to kick us out. We decided to leave immediately. Choosing this place to eat was clearly a terrible decision. P.S.: The owner should find another job because he seemed bitter.

21/11/2025: We found it by chance and I highly recommend it. The food was exquisite, the staff lovely and very friendly, and the place beautiful. I'll definitely be back. Thank you, Da Nino!

19/11/2025: The bruschetta was very good (hard to mess up, though), the ricotta and spinach pasta was okay, but the pizza was awful, very disappointed. And €5 for service is a bit much!

09/12/2025: Disappointing experience. Unfortunately, my experience at this pizzeria was anything but positive. I'll start by saying that I've been going here for at least 30 years... I ordered a Margherita pizza as usual, but the mozzarella was completely inedible: hard, dry, and flavorless. The pizza was visibly overcooked, with a burnt edge and an excessively dry base. Furthermore, the prices seemed completely disproportionate and inflated for the quality offered. Paying €7 for a single artichoke as an appetizer is decidedly excessive. The total for two pizzas, an artichoke, a zucchini flower, a supplì, and two medium draft beers (€12) came to €42. I expected much more, both in terms of quality and value for money. I don't think I'll be back...what a shame.

08/11/2025: WORST SERVICE. AVOID THIS PLACE — THEY DISCRIMINATE AGAINST AMERICANS AND TOURISTS. I have visited this restaurant twice. The food was acceptable, so I returned alone on a Saturday night. It was 8 PM and not busy, yet the host told me there was no table for one — not even with a wait. I said I would order takeout instead. While I stood there waiting to place my order, two men walked in without a reservation and asked for a table. They were immediately offered a table outside and were seated right away. Meanwhile, I was denied any seating altogether. When my takeout order was finally ready and I went to address the situation with the owner, he refused to listen, offered no apology, and instead spoke to me with hostility. Moments later, an older woman (presumably his wife) literally slammed the door in my face and told me to move. If they had simply listened, I would have assumed it was the host’s error. But insulting a customer and slamming a door on them is unacceptable. I left feeling shocked and deeply offended. No business should treat customers with discrimination or contempt. This place does exactly that. Avoid it.

26/10/2025: The place is cute, located in the alleys of Mentana. Good pizza 🍕.... Too bad the entire staff (owners) They were in a hurry to close, and it was 11 pm. Hearing them ask more often when they're leaving was disgusting.... Personally, if it had been my birthday, I wouldn't have even paid the bill.

06/10/2025: Mimmo's pizza is a Roman institution, made with a wood-fired oven. It's a very casual place, and the food is good and inexpensive.

06/06/2025: Ristorante curato in ogni minimo dettagli come i piatti che propongono.. tutto squisito dagli antipasti alla carne, dolci super .. pura poesia, complimenti! Tornerò presto

04/06/2025: Frequento questo ristorante regolarmente e ogni volta è una conferma: semplicemente eccellente. Dall’antipasto fino al secondo, tutto è sempre curato nei minimi dettagli. In particolare, la guancia è stata spettacolare: tenera, saporita e cotta alla perfezione. Il personale è sempre cordiale, disponibile e molto attento, creando un’atmosfera accogliente e piacevole. Una nota di merito anche per il vino, consigliato direttamente dal proprietario: una scelta azzeccatissima che ha esaltato i sapori dei piatti. Un posto che consiglio vivamente a chi cerca qualità, calore e una cucina davvero appagante.
