21/02/2026: I thought it was love, but it was just a carriage. For Valentine's Day, my wife and I wanted to savor a dish that would make the day unique. When we saw the photo of the iconic dish from Che Avallone, our doubts were dispelled, and without further ado, we decided to spend Valentine's Day at the Cetaria restaurant. But the choice immediately proved to be the wrong one. When the dish "Mixed pasta with smoked lobster, wild oregano, and nduja" arrived, we were sorely disappointed. The dish we wanted to eat and savor was completely different. You can see this in the attached photos. I also ate my wife's dish because I'm a pasta lover and hungry, but at the end of the meal, we decided to point out the difference to the chef, hoping to return to try it again. When, at the end of the meal, we described our disappointment to the excellent waitress, all hell broke loose. The owner began attacking us in a manner that was nothing short of rude, and the chef who intervened later tried to justify our criticisms, but to no avail, and he too began to stiffen. In the end, we asked to return and eat the dish featured on the pages, which we didn't receive today. Perhaps the constructive criticism touched the owner's ego, demonstrating her arrogance. Our advice is to step down from your pedestal and accept the opinion of those who trust you by coming to your restaurant. In response to Chef Avallone Dear Chef, you failed to grasp the thrust of my review, much less the civil criticism we made of the restaurant. I'm sorry, and I'll try to explain myself better once again. The photo published, even though I'm not a professional photographer, is intended to describe the discrepancy of a dish that, although well executed, lacked an element. Our criticism begins by asking if we can return to your restaurant to eat the same artisanal dish you published on your website. Being artisanal certainly means that not all creations are the same, but in essence, they must be similar, and unfortunately, your creation was completely different—I'd say remotely different. Regarding the customer's rightfulness, I agree. The customer isn't always right, but I believe customers should be respected, and the aggressive behavior of the owner, as she described herself, was disrespectful and arrogant. The experience I had at your restaurant remains, even if it was negative, but your response as a Michelin-starred chef leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Having a Michelin star doesn't give you the right to respond with a "bullshit" like my friends. We love going to starred restaurants, and for the first time, we found ourselves in this embarrassing situation where the response outweighed the inadequacy of the service provided. By nature, however, I love giving second chances, and I hope one day to be able to change my mind about what happened, about what seemed like love but was actually just a carriage ride. Best regards

07/01/2026: A wonderful experience. Everything was elegant and refined, with innovative dishes, attention to detail and customer service. The chef was very polite and even came to greet us at our table. I didn't like the confirmation message requiring a dress code, and I found the table service a bit intrusive, constantly refilling your water glasses without asking, considering the price is €5 a bottle, compared to the €110 or €130 set menu.

21/02/2026: I ordered delivery and overall the experience was positive. The sandwich was good and well-filled. It arrived a little cold, but considering the distance, that's understandable. Unfortunately, the fries suffered and weren't as crispy as they should be. A less positive note was the chicken popcorn: it was really very salty, definitely too much for me. Overall, a good experience. Delivery was half an hour late, but it's a Saturday night, so I understand.

07/12/2025: We just left the pizzeria, a nice little group of us. As soon as I saw the pizza, I was worried because I like it thin and crispy, but there they made it with thick edges. I changed my mind, it's simply delicious, I finished it all, it was really delicious. The prices? We were shocked! The price is very low, maybe not even the cover charge... I don't know. I highly recommend it.

08/10/2025: Great food, you gotta take a water taxi there, it’s free with their shuttle with red fish at certain times but if you wanna leave early like us gotta pay for way back 30E. Well worth it tho, rustic local cuisine, friendly service. Polpo salad was delish.

30/09/2025: The boat transfer is a mini trip in itself and a nice way to see Positano and the surrounding area from the water. A nice beach for swimming. In my opinion they shouldn't charge extra for their deck chairs, but the Italian's overcharge for every possible opportunity, which they should improve upon. We had a few different grilled seafood dishes and they were excellent. The side of grilled vegetables was small. Overall a nice day out. It's a minimum half day activity as the return only starts from 4 pm.

18/01/2026: Not bad. Good pizza. Simple but appreciable service. Improve the ventilation in the dining room because, unlike other pizzerias, you leave smelling of fried food, hair included. I've had it twice. Either way, you have potential. 😘

12/02/2026: Very nice, clean, and welcoming place. Lots of pizza options. I had the one with truffle and capocollo, which was amazing. The fried foods were also good. Prices are moderate, and the waiters are very friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely worth a try.

11/02/2026: Professionalism, kindness, extraordinary cleanliness, even the restrooms looked like little living rooms, well-kept, super fragrant, and super clean. I have gluten and lactose issues. Last night I ate a huge gluten-free pizza, delicious, so flavorful, and the lactose-free mozzarella was excellent, I'd say. Super. Thank you so much. A wonderful evening in the company of wonderful and special friends.

16/02/2026: A birthday lunch for my mother-in-law's 90th birthday. The appetizers were endless. Excellent food.

02/01/2026: On December 28th, we ordered two take-out pizzas to eat at home. The first bite revealed that the mozzarella was sour and spoiled. Two inedible pizzas, thrown in the garbage. I kindly notified the pizzeria and was told that the supplier had delivered the mozzarella that morning. The lady on the phone, however, seemed willing to show some consideration for us, as customers. A week later, we picked up four more pizzas, also to eat at home. Among the mozzarella, there were small clumps of ricotta, preventing two of our guests from eating their dinner, as they didn't eat ricotta. The pizzas obviously didn't include this ingredient. This shows a lack of attention in food handling and insufficient cleanliness of the counter and work tools.

04/10/2025: We were here yesterday, a cozy place, drank house wine and ate Ciro's appetizers: tomato bruschetta, mozzarella, prosciutto, and cheese. We really enjoyed it, it was a heartwarming experience.

02/10/2025: This place was exactly what we searched for! Tasty simple antipasti food and good wine. We met some local people there, chitchatted with the owner, and enjoyed the evening very much. Prices are a bit higher than what you would expect, but with only 4 tables and freshly prepared and cut meat and tomatoes, it was absolutely worth it! Special thing for me were the cherry tomatoes from the Vesuvio mountain. :)

23/11/2025: On our way back from Naples, we stopped in Polla. Il cinghiale is a warm, welcoming, and family-run restaurant where we ate divinely and quickly, despite it being a Sunday evening. It has a breathtaking view and excellent food. I highly recommend it.
