01/06/2025: Update: this place was so good we visited three times and even arranged a private dinner with a combined group of 12 guests we met at our hotel. Fiorenzo is among the friendliest people I've met. He arranged many dishes for us to share and a variety of appetizers and drinks. He opened specifically for breakfast to send our family off home with full belly's. He always welcomed us with well decorated tables and plenty of food options. An amazing little gem. The service is excellent (beyond excellent) and the food is just amazing. Clearly home kitchen cooking. Large seafood selection with beautiful ocean views.

21/06/2025: The review concerns only the food. We have a lot of experience with food in Italy, we were guided by the good reviews and were very disappointed, and we simply ordered a pizza (with pecorino and diavola). The dough itself was average, but the sauce was very bad - it tasted like from a can of concentrate, there was a lot of it as you can see in the photo, there was very little cheese, it was imperceptible in the taste, you can only feel the tomato concentrate. If these two pizzas cost 10 euros in total I would probably skip the review, but for two pizzas it cost 26 euros. In addition, two waters with lemon (10 euros) and the entire bill with service (6 euros) was 42 euros. Quite a lot for a piece of dough with tomato and a bit of cheese, but above all - tasteless. And this is really not a matter of taste. I do not recommend.

19/06/2025: As Sant'Egidio del Monte Albino isn't the biggest tourist hub, you don't come across much tourist stuff. That includes the restaurants - ranging from genuine and very simple, to genuine and very nice. SceSce is not fine dining, and is a bit on the rustique side, but the service is friendly enough to make you feel like the guest of honour; they even treated us to a cannoli along with our coffee. Also, it might have been the quickest service I have experienced; the three of us had a water bottle, bread, wine and food on the table within seven minutes from our order. The food is good and filling. I tried six dishes during my stay, and I would very much like to recommend the Caprese - which was both beautiful, innovative and delicious. The menu isn't packed with hundreds of dishes. There is a decent selection of what you would possibly want; they have a number of finer meat cuts sold by the 100 grams, a handful of seafood alternatives, an extensive pizza menu and a tiramisù to die for. This goes along with a generous wine card, as one could expect, but SceSce is however no stranger to beer. They offer a nice, locally brewed lager on tap, along with a few bottled beers - classic Italian brands, as well as IPA's and other brews. If I return to Sant'Egidio del Monte Albino, or indeed Napoli, I will be sure to visit SceSce again.

12/06/2025: ONE OF A KIND ! My wife and I were back in Italy for the 2nd time in 18 months. We loved it the first time and it's been even better 2nd time round. After 4 fabulous days in Rome we took the bullet train to Florence where spent another 4 glorious days. AND THEN ! Martin our good friend and limo tour driver picked us up at 9am at the Hotel Berchielli for the long drive to Salerno. At around 1pm we stopped at a Sarni Grill for a hearty lunch and cappuccinos. FINALLY ! Martin navigated the narrow streets to get as close to our Airbnb apartment in Salerno as he could. At 3.30pm we said goodbye to Martin and wheeled our luggage up to our apartment near Corso Vittorio Emanuele...the huge ( mostly ) pedestrian mall which runs the length of the main shopping district in Salerno. OH NO ! It was all ripped for as far as the eye could see...new pipes etc being installed. Our 2 bed / 2 bath apartment was on the 4th floor...we took the elevator up of course where we met up with Annie Mae who worked for the owner. After Annie Mae saw our passports, showed us around the very nice apartment it was time to freshen up and think about dinner. We knew Salerno a fair bit from our 4 day stay 18 months before....of course pizza would be our first choice. There was a Pizzium ( we enjoyed a great tastin' pizza here last trip ) on the pedestrian mall a short walk from our apartment but it was drizzling when we exited our building at 7.30pm. BIG SURPRISE ! After walking just a few feet we saw there was a pizzeria on the ground floor virtually below our apartment...the door was open and a friendly looking guy beckoned us to come in. WE DID ! And it felt very cosy indeed with its beautiful looking brick oven blazing away. We sat at a table and Nello showed us a dinner menu...pizzas and calzones. FIRST UP ! I asked Nello for a cold beer and a chilled glass...in fact I asked him to put a stem glass in the fridge for a few minutes. NOTE ! In general we noticed that the Italians and French simply run cold water in their glasses when serving beers. We followed Nello's suggestion and ordered 2 pizzas of different varieties....Arruscata & Terre Sveve. My Peroni Nastro Azzurro Pale Lager - 5% abv and chilled glass were ready to enjoy...it tasted good enough for the occasion. Our 2 wood-fired pizzas were ready within a few short minutes. I took a great pic of Peppe the Pizzaiolo with our 2 delicious looking pizzas before they hit our table. MOUTHSATIONAL ! Trust me we know pizzas...there is no shortage of excellent pizza joints in the USA and we have been making our own from scratch at home for more than 20 years. Amazing flavor and amazing texture...as good as you would find anywhere in the world ! Nello who seemed to be the one running the show explained that his girlfriend Ilaria Falcone and her Dad owned the pizzeria. Business looked a bit quiet on the night but we were here in March which is much cooler and not the busy season. Very good pizzas, super friendly service, decent beers and a beautiful warm vibe inside is a recipe for success. WE'LL BE BACK FOR SURE !

21/05/2025: I bought their fruit ice cream online packaged in the fruit itself, they are SUPERLATIVE! Incredible goodness. I tried chestnut, peach, walnut, fig, apricot, one better than the other. Fast shipping, very sturdy polystyrene packaging with dry ice. Good good good

04/03/2025: Siamo stati in questo ristorante per una cena tra colleghi e devo dire che ci siamo trovati veramente molto bene. La location accogliente, la cucina a vista rincuorante e abbinamenti molto particolari. Abbiamo optato per la degustazione... Di tutto un po'. I piatti molto belli alla vista ma soprattutto molto buoni. Dolci squisiti... Rapporto qualità prezzo giusto. Ci vediamo presto!

19/01/2025: A really nice place, superlative chef. Not being a lover of so-called innovative dishes, I found those prepared by the aforementioned chef well made and very tasty, which reflect the traditional, but with the right visual touch in the presentation. So in my opinion I recommend it.

28/06/2025: It was the best food I had during my 10-day trip to Italy! The food was amazing, and I was very satisfied with the view and the friendly service of the staff 😊😍💛 It was also close to my accommodation, so it was easy to access! The gnocchi, king prawn, and margherita pizza were all so~~ delicious! Pizza dough is usually hard, but the pizza here was chewy and soft, so I ate it all. The last dessert, lemon cake? I was crazy! 🍋🍋 Show me the pictures and order the menu, and they will understand everything. Even the price was reasonable compared to the expensive prices of Positano. I was happy to finish my last night in Positano at this wonderful restaurant. If I visit Positano again, I will definitely visit again! The best restaurant!!!
