30/03/2025: Today we went to lunch in three at this restaurant. Beautiful, welcoming atmosphere. I immediately noticed the absence of the menu on the table with the relative prices, but I didn't say anything to the waiter who received the orders (it is required by law). While waiting and even afterwards, 2 waiters alternated, a girl and a gentleman (probably the owner) who with attentive manners (too much) asked: how are you doing, how are you doing, everything okay, how are they doing. Frankly exhausting and perhaps even irritating. The first course was tasteless, the sautéed escarole raw, the meat average. In short, we didn't eat well. A very long time waiting for the bill. I protested because I thought it was expensive and the owner gave a small discount. First of all, I regret having to write a bad review because it can harm people who work honestly, but I think it's right to do it for the customers.

05/02/2025: Summonte welcomes us with beautiful sunshine and great quiet. It's early to have lunch, we take the opportunity to take a walk and get to know this splendid village. The restaurant is right in the center on the first floor of a 17th century building, we dive into history, numerous and beautiful paintings by a local painter are beautifully displayed on the walls, enhancing the environment even more, we have the impression of entering a museum, a great museum, but welcoming and familiar at the same time we immediately feel at ease. Thanks to Engineer Mario Matarazzo, the owner, who immediately creates a very friendly atmosphere with all the guests, it seems like he has always known us. The incredulity of having to eat only fish in a restaurant located here in the mountains of green Irpinia vanishes immediately: already in the appetizers you can taste the delights of the sea, golden and fried anchovies, very delicate, in practice little clouds of sea.... and then freshly seared prawns, fried anchovy balls, razor clams au gratin, breaded prawn tails and........many other delights to be enjoyed perhaps with an excellent wine from the well-stocked cellar. Among the first courses we taste well-made spaghettoni with clams and with excellent raw materials, very fresh clams. Mezze sleeves with squid ragù to enjoy a stronger and more satisfying flavour. Then grilled and fried squid both with an unforgettable salad made with zero kilometer cabbage, a delight. The fried fresh cod was excellent, it couldn't be missed! To finish, sweet log with chestnuts and chocolate, very, very good, also a very welcome gift from Mr. Mario, the bubbles to celebrate my birthday, truly commendable. We'll see you again soon, this beautiful day in Summonte deserves an encore and even more.

Equipped with everything you need to best express the passion and honesty for what they do in an inflated field such as catering. The starters were very good, grilled sea bream and mixed fried fish. 10/02/2025: We went to the sanctuary of San Gerardo. For lunch we decided to opt for a restaurant that offered a "" menu. We wanted to eat typical local dishes while spending a little more than the menus offered by other restaurateurs for €20. We therefore opted for this restaurant (moving away from the tourist area even if only slightly) mainly attracted by the many positive reviews as well as the photos of the dishes. It seemed that in addition to the quality of the food, attention was also paid to the appearance. We ordered 2 set menus for €35. Despite myself, I have to admit that it was a total disappointment: - Good but under-seasoned bruschetta - Low quality cured meats (raw, not sweet) as well as buffalo mozzarella (industrial ones). -artichoke casserole discreet but miserable - first courses: skeins of chickpeas (tasteless broth) fettuccine with porcini mushrooms and sausage (only the appearance was good as they were totally tasteless) - second course of pork and veal both very tough. -French fries to leave there on the table as they are very salty Low quality industrial dessert Friendly but unprofessional staff.

Il pizzaiolo Labik n.1 in simpatia e bravura (pizza eccellente). Infine abbiamo mangiato una splendida TAGLIATA con rucola e pomodorini...SUBLIME, servita su ghisa bollentissima, cotta al punto giusto e troppo buona. Alla fine il titolare Raffaele (un personaggio da conoscere assolutamente) simpaticissimo, ci ha applicato anche lo sconto ed offerto il caffè. Quindi non so cosa aspettate...da provare assolutamente e sicuramente ritornerete, ritornerete e ritornerete... consigliatissimo.

Piatti che rispettano il territorio, con l'utilizzo di materie prime stagionali e di qualità. Vino di produzione propria molto buono. Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo.
