The venue is beautiful: on the banks of the Calore River, it's all stone, beautifully renovated and furnished. It has several outdoor tables overlooking the river and a spacious indoor dining room. The menu isn't extensive and features mostly local cuisine. The quality is excellent, with top-quality ingredients, beautifully cooked and presented. The staff is discreet but friendly and helpful. Prices are slightly higher than average. Worth a try.

A one-of-a-kind restaurant, dining by candlelight accompanied by the gentle sound of the flowing river is a unique experience. The chef delighted us with well-executed preparations and high-quality ingredients. A gem of our Irpinia not to be missed.

Excellent restaurant, with refined dishes that are also rooted in tradition and local products. Beautiful location surrounded by nature. I plan to return in the summer to eat outside near the stream.

I had lunch today at this restaurant, which I found by chance during a day running errands between Puglia and Campania. My husband and I ate wonderfully; there wasn't a single dish I didn't enjoy. They served us a selection of dishes they had selected, and I found them to be elegant, tasty, made with excellent ingredients, with distinctive yet delicate flavors. Congratulations!

Il Vecchio Mulino is one of those rare places that manages to combine soul, quality, and hospitality. The setting, housed in an old mill, creates an evocative atmosphere. Completely renovated and repurposed, it feels like entering a place steeped in history and soul. The service is top-notch. Mario, the maître d', is discreetly present, attentive without ever being intrusive. He accompanied the experience with professionalism and great humanity. It's the kind of hospitality you expect from a Michelin-starred restaurant, with a touch of home. The kitchen is the true beating heart of the restaurant. Carefully crafted dishes, excellent ingredients, and plating like paintings. Each course tells a story, local or otherwise. The chef, in addition to being exceptionally talented, stands out for his rare kindness: you can sense his true passion for his work and for his customers (and personally, he struck me as someone with a big heart and humanity). Overall, the experience at Vecchio Mulino is on par with many Michelin-starred restaurants: in fact, in terms of human warmth and the coherence between location, cuisine, and service, it surpasses them. It's one of those places I call "a place of the heart." The menu is seasonal; my recommendation: the meat dishes and the double pasta shapes (the maccaronara is tops).

Vecchio Mulino 1834 was a place that gave my fiancé and I a unique experience, made possible by the harmonious combination of the selected dishes, the enchanting atmosphere, and the impeccable service. This restaurant is truly a treasure chest hidden in plain sight. Each dish embodies an idea and a journey, and the presentation of each is a small but powerful canvas where the love and passion of those who created it are clearly visible. I was particularly struck by the linguine with pumpkin and toasted hazelnut cream and the honey-glazed duck breast, red berries, and escarole. The dishes are captivating in their simple aesthetics of color and elegance, and upon tasting them, you can then experience a harmonious balance of flavors, which the presentation only hinted at. This place is a sweet experience, a meeting point of love for the land, tradition, and passion.

We visited this restaurant on the occasion of the feast of St. Stephen on December 26th, and were warmly welcomed by the head waiter and his colleague. We opted for a truly delicious mixed appetizer and a cooked egg with truffle and provola fondue, which was truly delicious. We continued with a second course of truly well-made first courses and an excellent lamb main course, the latter truly superb. The location was beautiful, truly a place to return to.

Nestled in a fairytale setting, in an old mill on the slopes of the Calo River. Plenty of outdoor seating, ideal for the summer. Dine with only the sound of the river to the fore. Locally sourced dishes, expertly mixed by the excellent chef-owner. Each dish exudes tradition and innovation. A warm and relaxed atmosphere thanks to the excellent staff.

18/05/2026: A place where we ate truly authentic products, a truly excellent first course (candele al ragù) and a second course (grilled meat), also delicious. The place was packed, but the service was really good. The only small flaw was the slightly high price: a first course, second course, and dessert were €40 each with a bottle of house wine, but again, you can let that slide because the quality was satisfactory.

20/04/2026: I think "lightness" and "easiness to digest" are the strengths of this pizza (not to mention its deliciousness!). This evening I ordered takeout pizzas via WhatsApp, but I've had the pleasure of eating here before. The location is excellent (close to the highway and a short drive from both Avellino and Atripalda) and has ample parking. The place isn't huge but it's very welcoming, so I think it's always best to book, especially if you're a large group. The menu offers a remarkable variety of pizzas and fried foods, complemented by recommendations (including possible ingredient variations) from the staff to help you find the perfect pizza. Speaking of which, the last but FUNDAMENTAL detail is the service. Every time I've been to this pizzeria, the friendliness and professionalism of the staff has been the icing on the cake of a perfect setting!
