06/04/2026: We had Easter lunch yesterday at Peppino's inn. We were immediately greeted by the extremely warm and friendly staff. Owner Peppino told us how, with tenacity and wit, he fulfilled a childhood dream by opening his own restaurant just steps from the Avella train station, aiming to revive and promote the region's traditional flavors and culinary excellence. The set menu, as it was Easter yesterday, was very balanced, thoughtful, and fun, offering a wide variety of flavors, incorporating classic recipes while also offering modern dishes with meticulously balanced flavors (so kudos to the chef!). The wine selection, a young Aglianico, was entirely in keeping with Peppino's proposed journey, always aiming to highlight the region's charms. Thanks again for treating us to an excellent and unexpected cheese selection before dessert, which the owner offered as a gift, taking us on a "short tour" of Campania and Europe. The dessert liqueur, along with the bitters and after-dinner drink, also expertly rounded things off, winning us over once and for all. A final thank you goes to the staff in the dining room for their courteous professionalism and friendliness.

06/04/2026: We went to this place for lunch on a Sunday. The location was welcoming, the wine excellent. As an appetizer, we ordered three meatballs with truffles on a bed of pecorino cream. The meatballs were good, but they could have been excellent if they had been served hot (we mentioned this to the waiter and the owner). For our main course, we ordered 1.3 kg of good meat, but definitely not worth the price we paid. The rest of the side dishes were excellent (potatoes and sautéed mushrooms). The quality/price ratio needs to be reviewed. N.B.: To finish the wine, we ordered a cheese platter. As good as they were, you can't present them as a platter, in our opinion. Two slices of caciocavallo and two of pecorino.

I will never stop thanking them because, with their great sacrifices, they bring prestige to our region in the restaurant business. I Briganti has now become a restaurant that embodies the identity of our beloved Irpinia region, and we should be proud of this. Maurizio and Mario pay attention to everything: from the choice of raw materials to the selection of products, always of the highest quality, with great respect for the territory and for true 0 km. And every time I return to savor one of their extraordinary dishes, which seems simple but actually embodies technique, tradition, and soul: pancotto with broccoli, extra virgin olive oil, cheese, and crispy dried peppers. A dish that is a true culinary experience. One that alone is worth the trip up here. You are unique. You are home. I love you Andrea
