Culinary experience in a former rock church: a must for visitors to the Sassi The restaurant, housed in a former rock church, impresses with its modern interior and beautiful rock niches that give a special touch to the environment. Particularly noteworthy is the service, especially the staff's in-depth knowledge of the wines. Dishes feature modern interpretations of Italian cuisine and offer guests a tasteful journey through the region. I chose the tagliolini with Sardinian pecorino, fresh pasta with pecorino aged for 72 months, accompanied by matecata cod: crunchy on the outside and pleasantly soft on the inside. I also enjoyed the roasted calamaretti salad with artichokes, a dish with flavored calamari and artichokes. Ultimately, the restaurant is an obligatory stop for visitors to the Sassi who, in addition to experiencing the beauty of the surroundings, are looking for culinary specialties

Beautiful venue, highly recommended culinary experience. The menu is not vast, but includes a few carefully selected starters, first and second courses. The dining room staff is attentive and professional. Relaxing environment for a real journey through the food and wine history of the area!

Under the advice of the Palazzotto Residence&Winery staff we decided to choose this restaurant and let's say that we were not disappointed at all... Delicious food, recommended and explained down to the smallest detail by the staff, all accompanied by a good wine produced by the owner of the restaurant/hotel . The location is magnificent, furthermore, at the bottom of the cave there is a very refined entertainment room where you can smoke a good cigar. Therefore, an obligatory and recommended stop in the historic center of Matera.

Such a historic place to eat and enjoy Matera, what a perfect place that represents Matera. Ask if they can let u have a peak at the cigar room downstairs 😁. Chief was personable had some good combinations, i would come back for the staff, so nice and had good conversations.

Locale stupendo e molto suggestivo, Personale accogliente, gentilissimo e attento ad ogni minimo particolare, il cibo poi una delizia ottimo tutto... Lo consiglio vivamente....

high level of service and wine selection over the top with high quality and well selected wines fresh fish, simple yet unique tasting my kids got the spaghetti al pomodoro which were delicious made out of two different kind of tomatoes i got the filled calamari with artichoke tender and delicious the complimentary butter is over the moon, mixed with crusco red pepper this is the place to be when you visit Matera
