12/07/2025: Probably since 1005 BC, the local grocery store has been visited by people from the Czech lands. 😁😁 This significant event is enhanced by the fact that we arrived on a Czech horse - a Škoda KAMIQ. We thank you for the kind service at the checkout and we promise to cook the purchased pasta at home and eat it with pleasure.

22/10/2025: Its a very lovely place if you are looking for easy food. He’s got locally grown food and wine, simple dishes but very tasty. Its an easygoing atmosphere and he asks for easygoing guest who are looking for a feeling like being at home. The owner seems a little introvert and nerdy but has a very lovely and shy character, aiming to accommodate his guests at its best abilities. Ask for the house red which is made by him. It is absolutely delicious.

09/10/2025: Baccanti in Matera is a beautiful restaurant set inside the historic caves, which creates a truly unique and atmospheric setting. The food was excellent, carefully prepared, full of flavor, and presented with great attention to detail. The wine list is also very well curated, with many interesting choices that pair perfectly with the dishes. Unfortunately, the overall dining experience was affected by the seating arrangements. The restaurant does not seem to pay much attention to how tables are placed in the room. We were seated right next to the toilets and beside a very loud group, which made it hard to fully enjoy the wonderful food and atmosphere. For such a high-level restaurant, more consideration for guest comfort and ambiance would make a big difference.

05/10/2025: AVOID! The worst meal we had in the whole of our Puglia and Matera holiday. The floor around our table had not been swept. Unfriendly welcome, arrogant staff and generally tasteless food, especially for vegetarians. The supposedly warm starters were cold, and I wasn’t given the chance to taste the wine before it was poured. There are so very many better eating options in the town than this place.

04/09/2025: Pizzeria located in the center of Matera. Very friendly waiters and very good fries. I gave the pizza 4 stars for two reasons: 1- We ordered three pizzas: a Margherita, a salami pizza, and a sausage pizza. The Margherita and sausage pizza were good, but I found the salami pizza a bit salty. 2- Although the pizzas were good, after about 20 minutes I felt like I hadn't eaten anything. Otherwise, it was a great experience.

27/09/2025: Unfortunately, I can't give less than one star. We ordered two pizzas and a sandwich. They arrived after almost three hours! They were inedible, to say the least! My companion's pizza, a tuna and onion pizza with fries, was a dry, unseasoned disc under an excessive amount of very cold fries that smelled of fried fish (obviously, changing the oil or using separate fryers would be too much work). My pizza, a diavola with mushrooms and fries, was truly inedible! The consistency was that of a dry toasted slice. The mozzarella, what little there was on the pizza, had the typical odor of a modified atmosphere, a mix between methane and bleach. It's the smell of mozzarella in a modified atmosphere at just over €5 a kilo. The mushrooms got lost along the way because there wasn't even a hint of them, the salami was of extremely poor quality, and the fries, in my case very few, were flavored with fish like my companion's. Sooner or later, you'll run into someone with a fish allergy. Ultimately, we waited three hours for a terrible meal. The sandwich was edible, although the bread was very dry and fell apart when bitten into. I don't usually write negative reviews because I think oversights can happen, but operating this way, with prices equal to those of other pizzerias that produce much better products, is completely unfair. Total €30.00. Never again!

15/10/2025: Very nice little restaurant, the lemon spritz was very refreshing. The pizza was fabulous, and the bruschetta was our favorite! We tried a small slice of tart, which was also delicious. Very good service. If you're passing through Matera, this restaurant is worth a stop.

01/10/2025: Delicious food, featuring dishes that rediscover traditional cuisine, explained by the owner, a very knowledgeable and courteous gentleman. I recommend it to everyone, whether celiac or not. If you're passing through Matera, you can't miss it.

15/08/2025: Last night I had the pleasure of dining at Clint and was truly satisfied. The service was impeccable: the staff were courteous, attentive, and always available without ever being intrusive. You could feel the care and passion the staff puts into making every customer feel at ease. The highlight of the evening? An amazing T-bone: perfectly cooked, top-quality meat, tender and flavorful to perfection. A gastronomic experience I highly recommend to lovers of good meat. Modern restaurant, relaxed atmosphere, and high-quality dishes. I'll definitely be back!

05/09/2025: I had the best experience in Matera at this bakery! Patrizia and her sisters are the best and they welcomed me with open arms and let me sign up for an amazing bread-making lesson I'll never forget! I also learned about the history of the famous Matera bread, and we had a tasting of different focaccia, wine, and pastries. I will be back to try everything in this bakery!

09/09/2025: We had pizza and panuozzo at their sandwich shop during a holiday in Calvello. We had a wonderful meal, excellent products... The staff was also polite and helpful... I highly recommend it!

02/10/2025: I stopped by while exploring Matera. It has a local feel and a great location. I ordered bruschetta and carbonara. I've read other reviews that the carbonara was poorly rated, but it was absolutely delicious. The noodles were al dente and the flavor was easy for Japanese people to enjoy. I'd definitely return if I visit Matera again.

26/09/2025: Unfortunately, we're just uneducated foreigners—every Italian should decide for themselves whether this is a typical spaghetti carbonara lucana and whether the huge pieces of ham (consisting almost entirely of fat) are just right... - The spaghetti was still really crispy, by the way, but maybe that means "al dente" here in Matera... The portion, by the way, was originally only slightly larger... No foreigners received a bread basket at their tables, although, of course, the cover charge was billed later....

21/08/2025: I tried this place primarily for breakfast and never left it during my vacation in Bernalda: everything was good, including the house specialty (cold espresso). I also tried an aperitivo on one occasion: good products again...and it's also one of the very few places in town to offer it.

19/09/2025: Nice place right in the center, excellent food, nothing to complain about. I'd give it 5 stars only if... I'd give it 5 stars if I'd found a girl at the counter who knew how to make coffee or her job of welcoming customers, and not a model. We arrived and asked two questions to eat and sit down... like talking to a well-dressed mannequin... We found ourselves with a beautiful girl, perhaps too beautiful for her place; in fact, as mentioned, she should have a different job. Things weren't any better with her colleague who was waiting tables; she looked like her sister; maybe a little more smile wouldn't have gone amiss. The situation was saved by their colleague, who did the job for both of them (luckily). If it were up to them, the place would already be closed.
