21/09/2025: Every time we go to Basilicata, it's a regular stop, and it never disappoints. The restaurant's highlight is the spade (spade). Each one is better than the last, though for my personal taste, the bombette (a kind of fried pork shoulder) is the best. The antipasto, gli sfizi di Nonnandò, consists of five typical Lucanian specialties, which vary from time to time, and are cooked just like grandma used to make. Everything is excellent, even the desserts, and the staff is always quick and attentive, even when the place is full. We can't wait to return, although unfortunately we'll have to wait until next year.

26/08/2025: We had dinner twice. Once the pizza (fabulous, one of the best I've ever had) and once the meat. Everything was delicious and the prices were more than fair. The owner, Umberto, was friendly and kind, a delightful person. The service was attentive and never intrusive. We really enjoyed our stay. Recommended.

04/10/2025: Our experience started out great: from the moment we asked if dinner was available, we were struck by the kindness and thoughtfulness with which they responded. Shortly after, we were comfortably seated and immediately felt completely at ease, enjoying a truly enjoyable dinner. All the dishes we tasted were delicious, prepared with top-quality ingredients that brought out the traditional flavors. A huge special mention goes to Mrs. Filomena, a delightful person and excellent hostess whose warmth makes the atmosphere unique. The quality-price ratio was very, very good. Try this trattoria! The experience will certainly be pleasant, and you'll feel welcomed in a warm embrace. We'll definitely be back.

02/07/2025: Siamo stati alla Latteria dietro consiglio e…gran consiglio!! Abbiamo mangiato benissimo. Taglieri, spaghetti san giovannino, guanciale di vitello, tagliata, formaggio alla piastra. Tutto buonissimo. Se andate a Matera alla Latteria non sbagliate.

Chef Rocco delighted us with dishes that combine tradition and creativity: each course was a true masterpiece in taste, quality, and presentation. Congratulations on your impeccable cuisine! Special thanks also go to maître d' Valter, who oversaw every moment of the evening with elegance, discretion, and professionalism, ensuring that all guests felt pampered and cared for. The room is refined, welcoming, and meticulously designed, perfect for transforming any event into an unforgettable memory. Making the evening even more magical was the fireworks display: long, thrilling, and evocative, they left everyone breathless and capped the celebration with a touch of pure magic. 12/07/2025: Probably since 1005 BC, the local grocery store has been visited by people from the Czech lands. 😁😁 This significant event is enhanced by the fact that we arrived on a Czech horse - a Škoda KAMIQ. We thank you for the kind service at the checkout and we promise to cook the purchased pasta at home and eat it with pleasure.

09/10/2025: Baccanti in Matera is a beautiful restaurant set inside the historic caves, which creates a truly unique and atmospheric setting. The food was excellent, carefully prepared, full of flavor, and presented with great attention to detail. The wine list is also very well curated, with many interesting choices that pair perfectly with the dishes. Unfortunately, the overall dining experience was affected by the seating arrangements. The restaurant does not seem to pay much attention to how tables are placed in the room. We were seated right next to the toilets and beside a very loud group, which made it hard to fully enjoy the wonderful food and atmosphere. For such a high-level restaurant, more consideration for guest comfort and ambiance would make a big difference.

05/10/2025: AVOID! The worst meal we had in the whole of our Puglia and Matera holiday. The floor around our table had not been swept. Unfriendly welcome, arrogant staff and generally tasteless food, especially for vegetarians. The supposedly warm starters were cold, and I wasn’t given the chance to taste the wine before it was poured. There are so very many better eating options in the town than this place.

18/09/2025: Excellent restaurant overlooking the Sassi of Matera, exceptional products cooked with care, the cruschi peppers are fantastic, friendly staff, reasonable prices and inside there is an extraordinary peasant museum to visit.
