10/08/2025: The owner is completely ignorant of customer rights. A woman who won't let a woman with two children use the bathroom. She then overrode decency by telling the woman that the bathroom is for customer use only. Forced to pay to use a bathroom that by law MUST be available!!! Learn Italian laws!!

10/08/2025: The lady is very polite and helpful, and the food is very good (if truly authentic). It's a shame that the prices of some dishes don't correspond to the actual quantity.

10/08/2025: A great experience, the rooms were really clean and the staff was friendly. The only downside was the lack of communication regarding check-out time. It's also in a super ideal location for exploring the city.

15/07/2025: Personnel très sympathique. La vue est sublime et le cadre est très agréable. L’huile d’olive est excellente et avec le pain c’est très doux. Aucune faute, tout est parfait ! Ils ont tous les codes de la restauration. Nous vous recommandons spécialement la viande, qui à notre avis est une grande spécialité de cet endroit. Elle est tendre et très goûteuse. On a adoré ! Les pâtes ont un côté plus recherché et innovant. La carte des vins est surprenante, n’hésitez pas à en prendre. Bref, un très bon moment passé en famille. Nous reviendrons sans problème.

15/07/2025: Vins, charcuterie, pâtes, desserts, tout était excellent. Personnel et cadre sympa. Un peu cher mais les plats en valent la peine.

24/07/2025: Siamo stati prima a pranzo e poi ritornati per cena a distanza di due giorni. Locale familiare e ottima accoglienza. Molto buoni i piatti locali così come la pizza. Dalla terrazza si gode di un panorama incantevole, che arriva fino al Golfo di Taranto, ciò fa de La Mangiatoia il miglior balcone del "Balcone dello Jonio" così come viene definita Rotondella. È eccezionale il rapporto qualità-prezzo. Da consigliare sicuramente!

31/05/2025: We stumbled upon this trattoria by chance while looking for a place for lunch that wasn't in the tourist area. And luckily we found it. Rustic place, typical trattoria atmosphere, impeccable service. Umberto is a fantastic person who really knows what it means to seduce the customer by the throat. Fantastic pasta, excellent meats, good wine by the glass. We ate so well at lunch that we went back for dinner since we were in Matera only one day. Next time we'll come back

31/07/2025: In my opinion, one of the best sushi places in Matera. Very welcoming and polite staff. The service is very efficient. Very beautiful location. The place is well-spaced with tables. Congratulations! We'll be back.

15/07/2025: €20 per person for 4, the nighiri and dunkan were a little smaller than usual but this helps you to try many more things, the sashimi was very fresh and the tartar was godsend, sour and spicy sauce perfect with the ravioli and the teriyaki one similar to soy sauce but thicker and sweeter goes well with everything, the almond chicken was exceptional and the waiters were friendly, excellent!

21/08/2025: Terrible experience, we waited 2 hours to eat, rude and incompetent staff not to mention the Calabrese waiter, who should learn to do his job well and respect customers. Not recommended.

20/08/2025: A place where you can eat a pizza worthy of the name, with a beautifully lit projection of the cathedral overhead (we ate outside in the evening). Friendly and fast service. In short, nothing to say except a warm goodbye.

05/08/2025: Non posso che fare una recensione negativa, tavolo da sei, abbiamo ordinato io e un altra persona un antipasto, io ho preso un crostino al ragù di cinghiale molto buono il che faceva presagire una bella serata, ordinato tre tagliate più una tagliata semplice una pizza e io una tartare, dopo un pò ma con i tempi giusti sono arrivate tre tagliate e la pizza, dopo più di mezz'ora quando gli altri avevano già finito di mangiare io e mia moglie eravamo ancora in attesa, il quel momento passava la cameriera alla quale ho chiesto perché così tanto ritardo, mi ha risposto che si sarebbe informata, Dopo dieci minuti e tornata con una scusa che non ho capito, alla fine miracolo sono arrivati in nostri piatti, peccato però che la tagliata di mia moglie era un rimasuglio di carne, e la mia tartare sicuramente fatta troppo in fretta erano pezzi di carne insapore, tagliati grossolanamente e duri, e vero che la signora (sicuramente la proprietaria) si è scusata più e più volte per l'accaduto, e che chi ha stornato i piatti dal conto finale, è offerto dagli amari della zona, però io avrei preferito pagare e mangiare del buon cibo.
