A charming little restaurant in the heart of Matera, in a location that alone is almost worth the visit: a truly top-notch location. I'd been lured in by the good reviews and wanted to try it, expecting something more. Unfortunately, beyond the evocative setting, the food left me perplexed. I ordered a puccia with vitello tonnato and capers, but the "veal" was hardly recognizable as such: its texture and flavor were much more reminiscent of cooked ham than a cut of meat prepared as described. A detail that weighs heavily when you order a dish based on a specific ingredient. The salad my partner ordered was well-presented, pleasant but lacking any particular flair. Overall, a proposal that appears more convincing on the menu (and in the setting) than on the plate. In summary: a very beautiful place, the cuisine rather ordinary and with a few unfulfilled promises. A good option for a stop in a splendid location, but less so if you're looking for a memorable gastronomic experience.

Many restaurants in Matera only open at 730pm. So we stumbled on this place at 615pm and decided to give it a try. What a find! Great food and Antonio and his wife were such a warm, welcoming hosts

I highly recommend this delightful restaurant for the quality of the food, the service, and the value. We wanted to try several dishes, all delicious and different from the usual. They made us feel pampered and welcome. They gave us tons of tips for making the most of this wonderful town. The staff and service were impeccable and cheerful. We visited this restaurant three times during our stay in Matera. Impeccable service, an extensive wine list, standard wait times, and above all, the food was exceptionally good! Thank you. A small clarification: on the evening mentioned in the previous review, we were present, and things didn't go as the gentleman described. I don't want to go into details, but one thing is certain: he shouldn't allow himself to be reviewed just out of spite!

Elegant and very clean restaurant! Relaxing background music. We dined there in early February. The service was professional and polite. High-quality food and an extensive wine list. I highly recommend it.
