09/11/2025: This spaghetti restaurant in Manera was a pleasant discovery. The place isn't very big, but the owner, even though we hadn't called ahead, managed to get us a meal. The appetizers are very generous. The real highlight, of course, are the first courses: a choice of penne, fusilli, and spaghetti, followed by agnolotti, gnocchi, and tagliatelle. The gluten-free pasta is a must-have, but it's also a must-have. Before choosing your sauces, you need to decide on your portion: regular (200g), small (100g), or generous (300g) for those who want to roll out the door. The sauces are varied: meat-based, fish-based, vegetarian, unusual, and creamy, all at more than fair prices. We tried the tagliatelle alla norma, the Aida gnocchi with stracchino, chopped pistachios, and gorgonzola, and the nocino agnolotti with fontina, chopped hazelnuts, cream, and tomato. Regular portions are already generous, delicious, and, above all, easy to digest! To round out our fabulous meal, we ordered a homemade cake called "nocciotella," made with sponge cake filled with hazelnut cream and hazelnuts, served warm. I love hazelnuts, and I can say it was amazing! Kudos to the service, delivered with simplicity and professionalism, making you feel at ease. Kudos to the friendliness, quality, helpfulness, and cleanliness. We'll definitely be back with friends, but this time we'll book ahead.

27/10/2025: Beware, this restaurant is operating in violation of the law and is completely dishonest. We entered this restaurant yesterday based on a generic menu posted on the door that read "first courses €15." Once inside, they seated us, and a very shrewd lady listed the few dishes we could order, since we are vegetarians, without giving us a written menu or even a price. Based on the price posted outside, we ordered two tagliolini with truffles. Unfortunately, at checkout, we were charged €40 each instead of €15, claiming it was an off-menu dish. Now, I'm not disputing the price of the dish, but the policy of this restaurant is completely dishonest. I actually tried to raise the matter the next day (I didn't want to cause a controversy in front of the other customers), but they wouldn't listen, thus confirming the lady's bad faith. She wouldn't even let me speak on the phone to express my opinion, coming across as very arrogant and rude. The law is clear and requires that the menu be displayed both outside the restaurant and handed to the customer, and must also include any extra dishes, which wasn't done. I personally didn't ask the price of the dish, because I thought it was included in the "first course" section on the door. I therefore strongly advise against this restaurant because you risk very high, and especially unexpected, bills. In fact, I paid €92 for two paltry tagliolini with truffle (by the way, the truffle is usually sliced ​​in front of the customer) and a water. The most annoying thing is that you feel truly robbed, as well as treated badly, because they didn't want to find a solution in any way, despite the obvious mistake. They even managed to tell me (so they're also billiard players) that the price was listed on the wine list, but they never gave it to me, especially since I didn't drink the wine, being a teetotaler. After speaking with locals, they confirmed the restaurant's reputation, so I recommend you skip it.

These were then placed on two chairs roughly in the center of the room, and after dropping them, they were placed back on the aforementioned chairs, where they remained until the end of the dinner. We ordered and asked for glasses of wine; we were told that another employee would take care of us, but the dishes arrived without even being able to order the wine. My girlfriend was brought a glass with broken corks; she asked for a change, and was handed a dirty one. I ordered the Albese for the first course. I should point out that I'm used to dining at restaurants of this caliber, and I understand that it should be a tasting, but it was an à la carte dish, and receiving a slice of Albese the size of a five-euro bill was truly absurd. Afterwards, I ordered the risotto, which arrived cold. Dessert was fine. At checkout, not a word was said to ask how things had gone. We paid and went to retrieve our jackets, which had been left on the chairs. Objectively, one expects much, much more from restaurants that claim to be of this caliber. In Turin, there are decidedly better alternatives in this price range.

The restaurant is located in the heart of Turin, in an elegant and welcoming setting, perfect for a special occasion. The traditional Piedmontese cuisine is simply extraordinary: carefully prepared dishes, quality ingredients, and authentic flavors that reflect the local tradition. The service was impeccable, attentive and friendly, always with a smile. Each course arrived on time and beautifully presented. The warm and refined atmosphere made the evening even more unforgettable. I recommend La Badessa to anyone who wants to experience authentic Piedmontese cuisine in the heart of Turin. A place truly deserving of 5 stars ❤️
