26/08/2025: What a great restaurant, run by the loveliest family. Outside you enjoy a typical Piedmont view, and inside you sit in a charming old ruin. The family is truly exceptional – wonderful cooking, warm hospitality and great advice on both wine and food. We stayed in the Castello next to the restaurant and were lucky enough to eat here three times. We look back on it with great joy. Grazie!

21/06/2025: È stata una cena squisita sulla terrazza con vista. Siamo partiti da un antipasto leggero di pesce (fettine di spada e tonno) e tortino di melanzane, per passare ai primi dal gusto delicato (gnocchetti e ravioli), a seguire i secondi di carne (brasato e agnello) ma anche il salmone in crosta di sesamo. Abbiamo concluso il tutto con dei desserts ottimi. Il tutto accompagnato da un buonissimo barbera e dalla cortesia e simpatia del proprietario. L'impiattamento molto elegante ci ha permesso di assaporare il cibo dedicandogli il giusto tempo.

06/08/2025: I tried the pasta with sausage and tomato, which was truly excellent, as was the rest. The bill was negligible for the quality of the dishes, at least in my single, but satisfying, experience.

05/08/2025: A simple trattoria/bar with classic decor, impeccable service, and good food. Classic cuisine with a limited but quality selection. Excellent prices considering the quality of the ingredients. We ordered a practically complete menu (appetizer, first course, and second course), staying within €20-25 per person. But we were rolling 😅 The appetizers are definitely not to be missed, as you'll see from the photos. If you want a simple dinner with good ingredients at truly fair prices, this is definitely a good trattoria. The entrance through the bar isn't particularly elegant, but you can't expect too much. Kudos to the efficient and helpful service.

06/06/2025: Small but well-kept place and friendly staff, despite the name they don't have a very well-stocked tap list of beer, the 4 or 5 they have I think are all from the same brewery, good but nothing memorable.... On the other hand they have a notable variety of gin... If I had seen it before I would have taken a gin and tonic instead of beer.... Convenient parking in front of the place, ideal for aperitifs or evenings with friends. There is a small stage with a screen I imagine for matches and in theory also live music. I will definitely go back, they also do sandwiches and appetizers

24/06/2025: For our family, this restaurant is much more than a place where you eat well: it is home. For countless years we have shared moments of celebration with them, important memories and dinners where we have always found quality, hospitality and authentic flavours. We have celebrated all the most significant events in our lives there, and for our wedding we could only rely on them for the catering. They were able to tell our story also through flavours, making our moment even more special. It is not just cooking, it is emotion. The dishes enchanted us and all the guests, who still compliment us today. It is rare to find so much care and passion in everything. But the wonderful thing is that it is not just about events: every evening, thanks to their gastronomy service, we can take home a little piece of their cuisine. Delicious, genuine ready-made dishes that smell of home and make you feel pampered even on a simple weekday evening. Those who are lucky enough to discover them once, never leave them again. Because here we eat with our hearts, and we always come back for love.

31/08/2025: The place is nice, great view and atmosphere. The staff is a bit clumsy, not particularly friendly but not rude either. The pizza is okay, the dough is good and tasty, but the toppings are really sparse. I think it definitely needs more ingredients on top.

31/08/2025: The pizza dough was great, so I really enjoyed the pizza. There were a few too few ingredients on it, so the food was a bit too bread-heavy and not quite filling. The location by the lake is very nice. The service was nonexistent. Since we were primarily looking for a crispy pizza and wanted to leave quickly, this didn't bother us too much, so despite its obvious weaknesses, it was a good experience.

26/06/2025: La locanda dei paoli is truly a wonderful place. We ate very well and to our heart's content! Typically Piedmontese with lots of variety and excellent quality. The place is beautiful with a fantastic view from the terrace. Mrs. Giovanna who served us was kind, friendly and super helpful. As was the chef Paolo. We really enjoyed ourselves, we felt at home! Thanks for everything, we will be back soon!

05/09/2025: I often eat here during my work break. The food is excellent, especially the pizza, and the dishes are always changing. The staff is very friendly. Highly recommended.

29/08/2025: The pizza was decent, but when we asked for a little more basil on one pizza, we found ourselves with an extra €3 added to our bill, considering the request had been made by one person, not three. I strongly advise against it.

30/08/2025: We had lunch on Saturday, having booked 15 minutes in advance while we were wandering downtown. The place is cute, with a renovated porch, friendly and welcoming staff, excellent and generous portions, and tables for two are a bit cramped. Recommended.

The Al Castello restaurant in Moncalieri is a true gem: a historic venue, expertly renovated, combining the charm of the past with a modern and welcoming atmosphere. The highlight is undoubtedly the new terrace, with an unparalleled view of the magnificent castle: the perfect spot for a charming dinner, especially on summer evenings. The menu is varied and well-curated, with carefully prepared meat and fish dishes, and a light, thin-crust pizza topped with quality ingredients—both local and international. The wine list is extensive and select, perfect to accompany every course. Special mention goes to the desserts, all homemade and truly unmissable! Another plus: the restaurant is open every evening, which is by no means a given. I highly recommend it for those seeking good food, a welcoming atmosphere, and an unforgettable view.

14/08/2025: I went to dinner at this restaurant for the first time to check out the great reviews I'd read. I admit I was surprised: the staff was polite and courteous, the menu was niche, with a wide selection and, above all, ingenuity in the preparation of the dishes. There was a vast and excellent selection of wines. The atmosphere was clean and well-kept, with a beautiful view of the city of Turin and the Moncalieri castle. I'll definitely be back. 👍

21/04/2025: Uno splendido pranzo di Pasquetta. Menù degustazione vegetariano, ben pensato ed eseguito. Bellissima location sulle colline del monferrato. Sicuramente consigliato e da ritornarci!

20/08/2025: We ordered meatballs with mashed potatoes and cheek with mashed potatoes. The meatballs were very tasty, and the cheek melted in our mouths, very delicate. The staff was young and very friendly. Highly recommended!
