05/08/2025: We caught the ferry over and walked here, it's up a lot of steps but through the beautiful old part of town with all the picturesque laneways. Clean comfortable good breakfast. Great restaurant recommendation.

12/07/2025: We stayed with Anna (the owner), who was courteous and efficient. The rooms are beautiful, bright, and clean. The location is excellent, quiet, and just steps from the center of the nightlife.

13/08/2025: The pizzas are excellent, generous, and very affordable! The service is efficient, fast, and friendly. We had a great time. The place is a little noisy, but that's a sign of its popularity because all the tables were occupied.

09/08/2025: The staff was very friendly and patient, as we didn't quite understand the Italian menu. The waitress was very attentive to our needs. The pizzas were delicious and very fresh. The white wine was also delicious and inexpensive. I would recommend the tiramisu to everyone!

19/08/2025: Ouch!... A good friend, who had stayed there the year before, had warned me: "It's old and the service is terrible." Attracted by the splendid photos and the perfect location, we ignored this experience. It was a shame we did... Magnificent entrance, magnificent building. Things get complicated upon arrival: no porter, no one to greet us for several long minutes. The way the doorman greets you suggests the worst. Unfortunately, it will be much worse than the worst you expect at that moment. At reception, it's a shambles: two people serving while a dozen customers wait in line. Welcome to Ibis Budget. The way they address you and the way they yell at you to get your credit card immediately makes you understand what will ruin your stay: the service and the lack of staff training. Meanwhile, management seems absorbed in their screens while guests wait, and the overwhelmed receptionists do what they can to cope with the overcrowding. Arrival at the room: balcony dirty and full of bird droppings, blinds stuck, double bed for the children even though we had made sure to call the week before and this had been confirmed to us in writing. At Ibis Budget, they are professionals; you don't have these kinds of problems. I call the head receptionist, who finally deigns to leave his screen to answer me: he explains that: "The bed is normal, it's 2:55 p.m. Check-in is at 3:00 p.m., that's why"!!! - The blinds are like that, they can't adjust them, it's normal, - The droppings, they can't do anything about it, every time they clean it comes back." I ask if my children can change rooms, to get double beds. He tells me it's not possible because the hotel is full. I point out that half the keys are at reception, suggesting that the majority of the guests haven't arrived yet and that a change is therefore not a problem. His response will long remain in my memory as the worst response I've ever received in a 5-star hotel: "It's because you're an inferior customer." Inferior in what way, I asked him? (We were staying two nights and had two deluxe lake-view rooms, paid at full price directly on the hotel's website). "It's because you're an inferior customer. I've worked here for 40 years, that's just how it is. If you're not happy, too bad." Armed with these explanations, I asked for the manager. A very stylish, elderly gentleman came to speak to me. I quickly understood that he was covering up for the shortcomings and mistakes of his longtime managers no matter what. He clearly no longer has the energy or the desire to maintain the standing of his establishment and is desperately clinging to his longtime employees to live in the illusion of the splendor of yesteryear. I contacted maintenance directly: miraculously, the blinds were repaired in 5 minutes. I spoke with the particularly kind and helpful chambermaid: the beds were separated in an instant. I even received an apology from her (she was the only one who didn't have to apologize since the instructions hadn't been given to her). In short, a disastrous arrival, staff whose attitude and training are as outdated as some of the hotel's amenities. Outdated management, trampled luxury standards. Finally, note that the pool and spa are open to outsiders, which gives you that delightful feeling of being at an aquapark rather than in a hotel exuding calm, luxury, and serenity. In conclusion: either you're invited for a sales seminar, or you find a 70% discount, or I recommend you run away and choose one of the lovely establishments in Stresa and on Lake Maggiore.

19/08/2025: We really don't know how to describe how wonderful our experience was. This hotel is a splendid pearl nestled on the shores of Lake Maggiore, where you're immediately transported to a bygone era. The service is impeccable, and the incredible kindness shared by everyone who works here makes you feel like the most important person in the world. An honorable mention goes to the spa, truly the hotel's crown jewel. If you want to live a dream, we absolutely recommend staying here; you won't regret it. Thank you, truly.

11/08/2025: "Il Tempo Ritrovato" in Turin was an exceptional culinary experience. I enjoyed a delicious dinner, prepared with high-quality ingredients that shine through in every dish. The selection of local wines is excellent and pairs perfectly with the menu, while the intimate and welcoming atmosphere makes the evening even more enjoyable. Special thanks to Fabio, the owner, whose kindness and professionalism made our visit unforgettable. Highly recommended!

24/06/2025: We celebrated our wedding in this wonderful place on Lake Orta, and we can only say beautiful words about that perfect day. Enchanting and suggestive place, impeccable service, superlative food. There was not a detail that was not taken care of to perfection. We thank Il Giardinetto infinitely for making our wedding unique, and we recommend it wholeheartedly. I would add that we have attended it on other occasions, both for our son's baptism, and for dinner and aperitif and we can only confirm the same satisfaction every time. 06/09/2025: A plate of fregola with a truly ridiculous amount of food for 22 euros... A few years ago the quantities were decent, but now they're scandalously insufficient even for an appetizer, let alone a first course! A real scam!!!

01/09/2025: Very good, high-quality food, great atmosphere. Helpful and friendly staff. Areas for improvement: Ambience: even better with candles on the table. Service: It's best to avoid sharing unhappy experiences with customers; it's not a sign of good manners. When bringing a plate to the table, you should note if the glasses are empty and promptly ask for a refill. If you use the provided napkins, it would be great if the waiter took them away once used (they took the bread basket but left the used napkins on the table). If a customer stains the leather placemat with sauce, the waiter should wipe it clean for the next course. When asking for the bill, if you need to go to the cashier yourself to pay, the waiter should let you know right away. The cashier could ask the waiter for the table number instead of the customer. Let's be clear: these are all subtleties that don't matter at all for a "true" place, but for a place with a rich history that wants to improve, they could be a great idea.

10/09/2025: We had dinner there twice. Went the first time and got seated imideately. The outdoor seating is basically on the square and the live music made for a romantic setting. The staff spoke great english and was super friendly. The second time we went we had to wait for about 25 mins but compared to other places, it was a short wait time. Honestly, the setting is great, the food is delicious, the staff is friendly and the prices are great all things considered.

08/09/2025: Best pizza in Italy absolutely beautiful food not to be missed !!! Staff are exceptionally friendly and the view from your table over the Piazza is lovely.
