07/09/2025: We booked last-minute for lunch on Saturday, September 6th.
They were very kind, even holding a table for us after 1:30 PM.
We had lunch outdoors (very nice).
The owner was very kind, welcoming us and explaining the dishes (prepared by her husband, a chef with a degree in biotech).
The dishes were already inviting just hearing them described, but they were truly delightful when they arrived at the table.
The ideas and combinations were also excellent.
Each course was better than the next, right up until dessert.
Truly everything was excellent!
Kindness and goodness go hand in hand.
The interior of the restaurant is also very charming.
Excellent location.
Prices more than in line with the order.
We will return as soon as possible.
01/09/2025: Excellent experience... at least once a year we dine with these fantastic guys. He cooks divinely, and she knows how to make you feel at ease, explaining the dishes very well. The hospitality is top-notch. If I had to give a rating, it would be an A+. We'll always be back. I recommend it.

06/11/2025: We had lunch at La Gruba restaurant, in La Gruba a Gaby, and the experience was truly unforgettable. We had booked a few days in advance, and upon our arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the owner Alberto, who passionately explained the entire menu to us, explaining that everything is homemade, from the bread to the sauces.
We ate on the wonderful panoramic veranda, warmed by a wood-burning stove that created an intimate and welcoming atmosphere, while outside we admired the autumn foliage of the Aosta Valley: a feast for the eyes and the soul. The menu was a constant discovery:
An exceptional tartare accompanied by a parmesan wafer and homemade mustard, intense and perfectly balanced.
Handmade spaghetti with chicken ragù, simply fantastic, flavorful, and authentic.
A "sconcia" polenta with onion and gorgonzola, creamy and piping hot, true mountain comfort food.
To conclude, two unforgettable desserts: meringues with cream and berries and a fragrant raspberry jam tart.
We washed it all down with an excellent glass of wine and enjoyed two hours of pure relaxation, immersed in the beauty of the place and the kindness of the service.
The bill? €65 for two, more than fair for the quality, care, and experience offered.
A lunch that left us with wonderful memories—so much so that we can't wait to return with our family.
An authentic place, managed with love and passion, where everything smells of home and the mountains.
Highly recommended!

05/11/2025: An unforgettable experience! The modern, cutting-edge structure gives you a sense of safety and durability. Once you reach the top, you'll be enchanted by the beauty of the landscape and the purity of the air you breathe.
One note: if you're not used to rapid ascents and descents, you may experience some pressure issues (my ears got blocked during the descent and stayed that way for a whole day 🤣). The fact remains that it's an experience worth trying at least once. :)
18/10/2025: 07/10/2025. An incredible experience. A cutting-edge, technologically advanced system that takes you to the highest peaks in a circular cabin that rotates 360°, allowing all passengers to admire the panorama during the ascent and descent, with some seats also available.
When you reach the Pavillon, you can enjoy a variety of activities: visit the botanical garden, the Cave Mont Blanc sparkling wine production laboratory, and the hangar on the history of the cable car's construction, or relax on the lounge chairs and have lunch at the restaurant. When you arrive at Punta Helbronner, enchantment is guaranteed: the view is incredible, the air fresh and rarefied, the panorama breathtaking. You can also reserve and dine at the restaurant with an incredible view.

We tried the truly outstanding vitello tonnato, pumpkin risotto, guanciale, and tiramisu, all excellent, accompanied by a delicious local Enfer. My colleague's quail was also particularly appreciated.
Excellent and up-to-date service, a small, intimate but comfortable setting.
Prices are quite high, but they reflect the quality, presentation, and attention to detail.
If you're on a budget, look elsewhere, but if you want a special lunch or dinner with carefully crafted and refined dishes, rather than the usual regional dishes (without sacrificing their deliciousness), then this could be a good option.

17/10/2025: I feel compelled to give one star for an absurd reason: we're going to dinner in August, 15 of us, a large bill, and 15 divided by 49 and something... what do they do? Rounding up to 50. This is already incredible, but it doesn't end there: those who want to pay in cash pay 47 euros, those who want to pay by card 52. These things really leave a mark; a place that should be absolutely top-notch has fallen dramatically in style. Sorry, but it's unacceptable to still see these things in a place where main courses start at 25-27 euros and up...

09/10/2025: A beautiful restaurant with an ancient Aosta Valley theme.
Impeccable service, and a lovely idea to offer their own spiced wine (killer) with a welcome plate.
The menu is very extensive, especially the wine selection.
I wanted to try the Favô, a very good and unique dish, while my companion had the Agnolotti, also very good.
To round things off, we had a tasting of 18 cheeses accompanied by three sauces, plus polenta, salad, and potatoes.
The potatoes were a bit of a letdown because they were just whole boiled potatoes.
But what can I say? An experience worth having.
To finish, a panna cotta with raspberries and chocolate, very good but overpriced.
I'm giving it 4 stars only because the wine and desserts are a bit overpriced.
If you're passing through Cogne, I recommend stopping by.
P.S. It offers a great view.

We had dinner this evening, starting with caponata and carpaccio. Followed by a hearty raclette. We finished with gelato and a delicious zabaglione, freshly whipped in a copper pot. An experience that left us happy and truly full! Highly recommended for anyone looking to sample delicious dishes in a mountainous yet elegant setting.

Not all of the food was entirely up my alley but that is one of the perks of a tasting menu where the chef selects what you get! I think it was a good value for what you get as well.

30/10/2025: 24/10/25 Highly recommended! This is the fifth time in two years we've been here. We've never had the pizza, but it looks delicious. The food is very good. The Supa à la Vapelentese is exceptional!
The desserts... delicious! Good value. The owner is friendly and courteous. Our dog, Luna, was also very welcome.
The tavernetta, which was criticized in one review, is our favorite (it's quieter, so it's better for Luna).

The staff are friendly and helpful, and the service is fast.
I have to say that my boyfriend and I never miss a beat, because we had divine food, excellent quality, and generous portions.
We started with an appetizer of platters and cheeses, the quality of the cured meats was exquisite, accompanied by an excellent Aosta Valley wine. I highly recommend the wild boar gnocchi and pappardelle, and to finish, a delicious Sacher torte.
It will definitely be a regular stop every time we return to the Aosta Valley.

19/09/2025: Sought out this restaurant specifically for their lunch menu, featured on their website and in restaurant window. Once we were seated I asked for the lunch menu and was told there’s no lunch menu anymore. I’m disappointed we were not told this before we sat down, as we would have chosen to eat elsewhere. Ended up spending 2x what we would have for their lunch and ultimately didn’t even get the dishes we went for (Tubetti “Benedetto Cavalieri”, salsa di pomodoro fresco).
03/09/2025: Dinner at Pierre Alexis's was a true celebration of taste, orchestrated by a passionate family whose mastery and rigor are evident in the kitchen as well as in the dining room. The cozy atmosphere, precise gestures, and attentive service make every moment a living testament to their history and expertise passed down from generation to generation.
The unexpected marriage of rabbit and eel, bold and luminous, transcends the boundaries of traditional cuisine: the finesse of the rabbit meets the salty depth of the eel, and each texture is a surprise, enhanced by a subtle dash of herb sauce that makes the flavors burst forth in the mouth. Then comes the pigeon prepared three ways, including the tender sous-vide breast, the roasted supreme, and the confit leg, offering a palette of refined and precise flavors; the perfect pairing with the fermented pear is simply remarkable.
The venison, placed on Jerusalem artichokes, truly stands out as the centerpiece: an explosion of colors and aromas thanks to the beetroot, celery, and Jerusalem artichoke powders add complexity and elegance to the dish. The meat, seared to perfection, is enhanced by a black elderberry reduction and a powerful jus, offering an experience where earth and undergrowth intertwine with intensity.
