La Gruba In Gaby

We spent a few days vacationing in this surreal place. It feels like a fairytale home. Beautiful. Meticulously maintained and very quiet. Our room was entirely made of wood, even the bathroom. The bathroom was tiny, but it was fully equipped. The restaurant offers a beautiful view and the food is simply delicious. The spa is superb. The location is isolated and the road leading there is very winding.

SIMPLY UNIQUE! Everything was perfect! The welcome... Giulia was attentive, empathetic, and professional. The owner was attentive and friendly. Enchanting location! Intriguing menu. : RECOMMENDED!

We stopped by for lunch during a hike. Even though the kitchen was closing, they welcomed us warmly. The menu was excellent and plentiful. They also provided very clear and knowledgeable advice on all the local trails.

We didn't stay, but we just had lunch at the restaurant. What can I say? The location is fantastic, accessible either after a long trek (as in our case) or by car. It's a place that feels like it's stood still a little in time. We ate very well, ordering two courses each (the Nepalese soup option was particularly special, and it was delicious). The service was impeccable; the girls were very helpful and kind.

What can I say about Gruba? Except that it's a magical corner in this beautiful valley. And that you can feel so good at breakfast, in your room, lounging in the garden, or at dinner with the right, perfect ingredients. And noteworthy wines. ❤️

La Gruba, a true gem, is located near Niel, a small valley hamlet climbing up from Gaby in the Gressoney Valley. We stopped for lunch with friends (four adults, a three-year-old girl, and a small dog). The menu is well-crafted, not too long (which is often a flaw), and features several traditional dishes. We tried the mocetta, potato rosti, venison osso buco (exquisite), polenta concia, and a few desserts. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented, with generous portions. The wine list is equally impressive, with several quality labels. The service was absolutely top-notch, punctual, and friendly. The price was fair. Recommended, even for the little ones. The highlight is the enclosed "veranda" with panoramic windows on all sides and the ceiling, which made a small rainstorm pleasant and evocative. We will definitely be back, and congratulations to Alberto, the owner.

We were there today... despite the heat, I asked if it was possible to use the sauna. And I was granted my request. I relaxed in an environment with attention to detail. The room was cute and spotlessly clean, typical of the mountains. We had dinner, and the food was superb. A delicate and excellent carrot flan, zucchini and cheese crepes, even better, and a potato tart with goat's nuts and local honey. The latter was delicious. What more can I say??? This place is beautiful. Plus, you can dine on a glass-enclosed veranda, so you can admire the natural surroundings. Would I recommend it??? Absolutely. Without a second thought.
