05/06/2026: Since I had the chance to discover this magical place, I've returned regularly. Each time, it's a true escape from time: a total immersion in an ocean of unspoiled nature. Whether I go to relax, go on magnificent hikes, simply savor the peace and beauty of Monte Subasio, or even for a digital detox, a profound meditation retreat, or to participate in Self-Awareness Yoga classes, the experience is always exceptional. Between the delicious cuisine prepared with local products, the warm welcome from the entire team, and the comfortable rooms, everything is in place for a stay that leaves you feeling refreshed, inspired, and grateful. In short: I highly recommend it! :)

10/07/2026: Yesterday I had dinner at Il Menestrello in Assisi. I had an appetizer of cold cuts and cheeses, followed by gnocchi stuffed with Taleggio cheese and truffles. During the night, a few hours later, I had a very intense episode of vomiting for several hours, followed by a fever (38.6°C). I am reporting this incident to urge the restaurant to carefully monitor the quality and storage of its food, especially the more delicate items.

09/07/2026: Very good pizza. Super Italian. It's strange that it's not pre-cut. I like to use my hands; after all, it's not a refined meal that requires a knife and fork. A place worth recommending.

11/07/2026: Exceptional Roman pizza! Crispy to perfection, thin crust, and rich, flavorful toppings. The ingredients are incredibly fresh, and the service is quick and friendly. If you're looking for authentic Roman pizza, this is the perfect place. Highly recommended!

24/05/2026: Traveling from Abruzzo to Tuscany (Volterra) on two motorcycles... after dinner time, very hungry... no sign of a service station on the highway... stop... search... the pizzeria was nearby, so we stopped... a small place, very unique and worth seeing, but you have to stop for the food... polite and top-notch staff... the pizza chef is very unique, as is the place (in a positive sense, of course!!!) The pizzas and calzones are TOP!!! Fast service (even though there were a lot of people), unfortunately I was so hungry I forgot to take photos... just the placemat while waiting... trust me, stop and eat...

12/04/2026: They welcomed us even though it was Saturday night. We expected a little more warmth, we Sardinians are like that. We ate well.

11/03/2026: We stopped for a pizza while passing through. Excellent and plentiful. The space is very large, but well-maintained and well-organized. The staff is very friendly, and the price is reasonable. The next evening we returned for a Sardinian menu. Excellent and plentiful. Congratulations. Recommended!!! Definitely worth it!!!

19/08/2026: The place is nice, but a 120-minute wait for food that's then cold and left on your plate is unacceptable. I've been here several times over the years. When it was a restaurant, everything was perfect, then the quality started to decline... Now it's a self-service restaurant that's nothing short of scandalous.

18/08/2026: As a couple, we chose to have lunch here by chance, and I'd say it was a decent experience. The flavors of the dishes were good, especially the house appetizers, like the grilled meat. It was just a long wait to collect all the dishes and sit down, since it was self-service. Perhaps the staff needs to be reconsidered.

12/08/2026: The restaurant itself is beautiful. Walls which reflect Assisi’s medieval history, and a very unique flooring which also allows patrons to see through the floor. However, the food was below standard to say the least. Each dish seemed randomly served with no particular attention paid to sequencing of the pallet. I recall all savoury dishes, with a random ‘fermented apple’ dish, which was followed by Beef ribs, then dessert with pastry, ice cream and strange addition of lentils. Service was appalling - slow, and no particular enthusiasm, which adds to the overall (lack) of experience at a high end, high cost restaurant. A bottle of Coke Zero was dropped and they simply put it back onto my table for me to drink, without replacing it. When questioned, they mentioned that they were out of Coke Zero - had I not have mentioned this, they would have kept quiet and charged us for the coke. The menu was provided to us by the staff, then when we went to choose our food, they removed the menus from us, stating that the chef would be overwhelmed by different choices. Therefore, we could only eat the same dishes, all for the convenience of the chef and them not being ‘overwhelmed’. Shocking for a restaurant that gets paid more than €100 per person. Atmosphere was also dampened by the heat. Waiters were all sweating, literally, through their shirt. Other consumers were fanning themselves, yet none of the staff members had the initiative to open the doors to allow fresh air in. The atmosphere turned from refreshing, unique and beautiful, into a claustrophobic cave circulating human heat. EDIT** Based on the owner's response... Clearly a lack of accountability and considering ways to improve. Very reflective of the management style, considering that they had to go through my past reviews to conveniently say that Italian food is not my preferred cuisine (which is not true.)... Poor form.**
