La Locanda del Cardinale In Assisi

Wow! This was a highlight of our trip to Assisi. One of the most memorable dinners I've ever had. From start to finish was an incredible 3 hour experience. We had the Mosaic tasting menu which was incredible. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Assisi.

Enchanting place Like the excellent cuisine An experience you absolutely must have!

A very elegant and refined 19th-century-style restaurant Excellent cuisine and extremely kind, friendly, professional, and helpful staff Located in the historic center of Assisi, accessible both by car (via the restricted traffic zone) and on foot (uphill streets). We were there for a floral arrangement for a wedding, on business, and I must say it's a beautiful location that lends itself well to any type of event. It was also named the best restaurant in Umbria; their in-house cuisine is nothing short of exceptional.

That was an excellent experience. Ambiance, food , wines' selection.. It was a fine dining , but not <tiring> .Fresh ingredients, surprise tastes ( like the "welcome" olive of the chef.. and main courses excellent, too.. The ruins underneath and the selection of wines and champagnes were ..incredible touch of this experience !

A very beautiful restaurant architecturally, with a glass floor that reveals the remains of an ancient Roman villa from 70 AD. A very refined establishment with a good wine selection and a menu featuring a few gourmet courses. The reasons for the lack of a fifth star are as follows. I sat down at 8:25 PM and left at 10:21 PM. Sitting at a table for almost two hours for just one course is excessive, I find. Despite the skill and professionalism of the staff, the service was extremely slow. The wine list markups are worthy of a two-Michelin-star rating, as are the prices of the courses. Let's just say that you're paying for the sophisticated atmosphere with the ruins of the Roman villa with what you eat and drink. In any case, 4 out of 5 stars is a very positive rating, but to achieve excellence, you need to work on a few things.

Exceptional location, courteous and attentive staff. Service and food were in keeping with the setting. Overall, an absolutely pleasant experience. The tour of the cellar and excavations completed the experience. I'll be back soon.
