I discovered this restaurant during the pilgrimage for the exposition of the Sacred Mortal Remains of Saint Francis, and I was able to experience the kindness of the staff and, above all, the culinary excellence of the restaurant, which offers authentic, home-cooked food. I'll be back, but in the meantime, go there yourself, it's worth it!

Friendly and courteous staff. Simple cuisine, but delicious dishes featuring local ingredients (e.g., snails, cured meats, and cheeses). Excellent wine selection. A good restaurant just a few kilometers from the hustle and bustle of Assisi. The restaurant has recently been renovated (I specify this because previous reviews describe it as "old/in need of renovation").

Excellent food, clean place, polite staff. I ordered gnocchi with ragù (I don't like wild boar) and it was one of the best I've ever had. Good wine: everything was perfect.

I went to Il Girasole for dinner.
We ordered several items, but they were all unsalted...
The gnocchi with wild boar ragù (PHOTO) were very good, even though the ragù didn't blend very well with the gnocchi.
The traditional spaghetti with truffles was a flop...
I don't understand how it's possible that in the same restaurant they serve glass and plastic bottles depending on whether you're ordering pizza or pasta.
The same goes for Coke, for example; we asked for a large Coke, but the waitress told us that the large Coke in a plastic bottle was only for those eating pizza...
The arrosticini were very good.
The atmosphere wasn't bad, very homey, and the view from the bar was beautiful.

We had lunch with the whole family and had a great time. The food was excellent, including the snails. The manager and staff were very kind and welcoming.

Family-run restaurant with an excellent lunch menu and a wide variety for dinner. The Nizza was very good, as was the platter, but a special mention goes to the tagliatelle with snail ragù! Excellent value and a very friendly staff.

Very nice, I sat across the way by the wall for dinner, enjoying the beautiful weather and stunning views.
Regional products were excellent.
