09/01/2026: Some meals stay with you, and this was one of them. From the moment we arrived we felt warmly welcomed, and that feeling stayed with us throughout the whole evening. We began with the arancini, which were simply exceptional — crisp on the outside and full of flavour inside. The pasta with cavolo nero was deeply comforting and beautifully balanced. For mains, the veal cheek was outstanding: meltingly tender, rich and soulful, while the mixed grill was perfectly cooked, full of flavour and seasoned with real care and respect for the ingredients. Dessert was just as special. The orange parfait was fresh and elegant, and the homemade dessert of the day was a true little surprise — simple, honest and delicious, just like the food you hope to find in a place like this. What really makes this restaurant shine is the people. The staff were genuinely kind, attentive and proud of what they serve. Combined with a lovely selection of local wines and a warm, relaxed atmosphere, it felt like discovering a little hidden gem in Assisi. This is the kind of place you remember long after the meal is finished. Highly, highly recommended ❤️

30/12/2025: We were there on Christmas Day with four of us. The food was decent, but the place was very expensive in my opinion. The single paper placemat wasn't worth 2 euros. Half a house red wine was 10 euros. Water was 2.50 euros in a plastic bottle. Cappelletti in broth was 12 euros, a paltry dish: 2 pieces of capocollo, 18 lamb pieces, 18 side dishes, 5 euros, but everything was small. Panne cotte was 5 euros, and one arrived with a sour topping. They said it was a recently opened tube. It was later replaced. Caffè macchiato was 2 euros, a full 50 cents to stain it. Finally, instead of apologizing and perhaps offering a coffee, they added an extra first course to the bill. Luckily, I checked the receipt. A mistake? That's what the owner said, but it happened to another customer shortly before. I have serious doubts about the mistake. Anyway, it's a place to forget. In response to the restaurant owner: he's right about the delay, but we still arrived, and there was another empty table in the restaurant. We certainly left the plates empty because, in my opinion, the portions were meager; I didn't say bad. As for the cover charge for the wine and the bottle of water (which they don't use in plastic in restaurants), I know what I'm talking about, having worked in the restaurant business for over 30 years. Mistakes can happen, but offering coffees (worth just a few cents) would have been enough to make up for it. Instead, 2 euros per coffee is a rip-off, I'd say.

18/12/2025: A restaurant practically in the center that pays homage to the embers. Deliciously cooked meat, a true delight. The ember-grilled potatoes are excellent, and a joy to eat. The summer salad is also very good, according to my wife: the best in Assisi. This restaurant isn't for tourists, it's a joy. €71 for two, including two soft drinks, one water, and two coffees. Highly recommended!

18/12/2025: For Koreans who haven't visited Italy before, this is a restaurant catering to locals, not tourists. It's located up the stairs in an alley near a square with a fountain. The only downside is that the stairs might be a bit difficult for those with mobility issues. I'm not sure if my husband is Italian, so I'm used to salty food, but I've seen some reviews complaining about the saltiness, but for me, it wasn't salty at all and was delicious. This was the best salad I've had throughout my travels in Italy, and the meats were, without a doubt, delicious. The price is incredibly reasonable for the quality of the food, the space is spacious and clean, and the service is excellent. This is a must-visit restaurant when you're in Assisi. Be sure to try the salad. It's fresh, and you can mix it up with a little salt, pepper, olive oil, and Venegal sauce. If you're not sure what I'm talking about, I've attached a photo so you can see what I mean. I had the mixed pork steak, and my husband had the beef steak, and both were excellent. The quality is top-notch. In Italy, they usually offer coffee after you're finished eating at a restaurant. Restaurant coffees tend to be lackluster, but this one was truly delicious. Adding the sugar that comes with your espresso makes it a perfect after-dinner treat. You can pay for your meal by standing up and approaching the waiter. The total bill came to around 71 euros, which is a good value for the quality.

02/02/2026: I recommend this restaurant which is located on a beautiful hilltop. Both the first and second courses are delicious and the only negative aspect is that if you dine on the veranda in winter it is a little chilly.

12/01/2026: A tavern from a bygone era, a rustic place in its simplicity, with 1930s music in the background that completed the image of the entire tavern. Another positive note was the quality food with the right portions and a reasonable price. A particular appreciation for the Bolognese cutlet with the right balance of flavors and proportions.

01/11/2025: We simply left because they told us there were no free seats. The lady at the front desk was very rude. She was insolent and annoyed by customers who actually wanted to spend money. There were free seats on the terrace and inside. They just didn't want to! So much for friendly catering.

27/11/2025: We had dinner last night to celebrate my birthday, and the experience was simply unforgettable. Chef Enea demonstrated extraordinary kindness, professionalism, and helpfulness, opening the restaurant especially for us on a closed day and taking care of every detail. Impeccable, creative, and exquisite dishes made the dinner unforgettable. A special thanks also to Nicoletta, who created the perfect atmosphere with a stunning and elegant setting. Her kindness also accompanied us throughout the evening, making everything even more perfect. We will definitely be back!!! Highly recommended.

14/11/2025: Where to start? The cheese and meat board was out of this world good! Andre was our waiter every time and was simply amazing. Always super friendly. We met the chef each evening when we went and sad to go but he was sooooo accommodating and kind and really a genius in the kitchen. It was a smaller venue perfect for.dat night. HUGE selection of wines ranging from 30 euros a bottle up to finer French wines for 900 euros so your experience is only dictated by your budget. We felt like we were treated like family. I cant say enough great things about the ambience and food and drink here.

The lady who welcomed us was incredibly kind and gracious: she let us taste everything with great enthusiasm, without ever making us feel in the way. The products, especially the wild boar ones, are exceptional! Congratulations for the quality and the welcome. Furthermore, with great courtesy, all the products we purchased were vacuum-packed for our return trip to Padua. Impeccable service, attentive to every detail. We will definitely be back! 04/01/2026: This is a small, limited-seat restaurant in the center of Assisi. It's a great place for a quick stop to try the torta al testo, a traditional local dish, and enjoy a glass of wine. The torta bocciata is also excellent.

19/01/2026: Rooms so filthy they'd disgust even mice: you take a shower and the hot water disappears after a few minutes, probably a courtesy from the "North African management" obsessed with extreme savings (they probably calibrated the water heater so as not to waste even a cent of decency). I refused to use the bedspread, a masterpiece of "creative" stains that seemed purposefully integrated into the pattern, like modern art of dirt. The bathroom vanity, camouflaged under a white towel like a crime under the carpet: lift it and boom, blackish-brown stains, a triumph of neglect that would make you sick. Booked for two nights, one in the freezing cold, amid asthmatic dust, time-honored filth, and arctic showers, was enough to make me run away. The North African owner, a concentration of rudeness, idiocy, and repressed rage: once I announced my change of plans, the owner took off in a fury. He demanded "proof" of the filth, so I challenged him to crawl a My finger on the wood behind the bed. Result: a completely dusty finger. And it's here that our Tony Binarelli from Casablanca shows off his master move, hiding it and waving his other "clean" fingers at me—a cheap magician's trick, just like his rooms. Having established that he was just trying to cover up the mess, I decided not to waste any more time. I can say I've traveled four continents, slept in makeshift places, but never had such a general discomfort: zero stars, and if I could, I'd give it negative ones. Avoid it or regret it. You have my word.
