We had lunch here during the week of Calendimaggio and I had the special meal that came on and with the commemorative plate. The plate is beautiful! I was prepared to have a mediocre meal, because of the plate, but instead had an awesome and very special meal. I did share with my husband (some) because there was so much, but his meal was very satisfying too.

Near the Cathedral of San Ruffino is the Hostaria terra chiama… Welcoming, well-maintained, pleasant atmosphere… intimate, romantic… The menu offers traditional Umbrian dishes, beautifully presented, prepared with skill and love, using high-quality ingredients… Everything was delicious, authentic food… The staff was kind, friendly, and very professional… We ate very well, thank you…

The setting is small, intimate, and very quiet, perfect for those who want to enjoy a dinner away from the hustle and bustle of the more crowded tourist routes. We started with the "Aestivum" Scrambled Egg with Norcia Black Truffle. An extremely delicate dish, where the aroma of black summer truffle is enhanced by the creaminess of the egg. Simplicity and pure elegance. The Gnocchi with Sagrantino were a real surprise. The texture of the gnocchi was perfect, and the Sagrantino reduction gave the dish incredible depth and character. The highlight was undoubtedly the Pigeon "alla Ghiotta." Perfectly cooked, juicy, and true to the most authentic Umbrian tradition. One of the best I've ever tasted. A restaurant that honors its name, masterfully celebrating the land. Attentive service and a relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Simple home cooking, but cooked to perfection. In a touristy place like Assisi, finding a place like this is a real treat. The two ladies are excellent.
