26/11/2025: Perfect for a game of tennis with friends, easy to find with plenty of free parking.

15/10/2025: New facilities, welcoming staff... all it takes is an expansion of the parking lot or a parking training course for our customers and we're all set!

17/08/2025: In a summer where everyone complains about beach prices, I found excellent service here at a more than fair price. Well-spaced umbrellas (there were days when we had four lounge chairs under our umbrella and didn't bother our neighbors at all) and free parking for guests, at an unexpected price and with a proper receipt. The managers are kind and honest. Congratulations! We'll be back!

12/08/2025: Excellent beach resort, quiet and without any noise. The restaurant is excellent, with reasonable prices considering you're enjoying a fish dish practically on the beach.

12/10/2025: No more aperitifs like a few years ago...neither good nor bad, as they say...obviously, the prices aren't the same as they were pre-Covid, either...but I think it's more or less like this everywhere now...rating 6.5/7. Let's see what the new management does to possibly raise the rating...edit: May 2025, rating could be improved...good aperitif! Good price. Rating 8...further edit...although the food is good, the new serving style is still a bit limited in quantity and also higher in price...in short, it was better before...rating 7

05/09/2025: This beachfront spot is great for an aperitif or pre-dinner drink. €12 includes a generous platter and drink. Very friendly and helpful staff. We'll be back soon!

The star of the show is the *buccellato*, fragrant, well-leavened, and with an intense aniseed aroma, a must-try for anyone who wants to savor a piece of true Lucca tradition. The dessert counter is full of artisanal delicacies, all beautifully presented. The selection of liqueurs and local products is also excellent. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, ready to share the history and ingredients of their specialties. Perfect for a special breakfast or an authentic gourmet gift. A must-try in Lucca!

18/09/2025: How lovely! A 10 for the exquisite hospitality and the ancient flavor that permeates this gem nestled in the heart of Lucca. Excellent coffee and expertly crafted desserts that hold a story far beyond the mere recipe. Tradition, friendliness, professionalism: Taddeucci has all the best cards in the deck (to put it in Games' terms). It really makes you want to take home a "souvenir," a taste to share with loved ones. Well done!

10/11/2025: On the Lido di Camaiore seafront, with a glass veranda overlooking the promenade. A small but welcoming restaurant, ideal for couples. Every Friday and Saturday, it offers a seafood menu from appetizer to dessert, including a bottle of wine for every two people. Choose from two or three options for €40. Two or three appetizers, two first courses, one second course, dessert, and a bottle of wine for every two people. Excellent.

09/11/2025: An evening with two couples of friends. We took advantage of the fixed-price menu. We ate really well, the service was fast, the waitress was discreet and kind, and the owner was empathetic and helpful. We will definitely be back, highly recommended!

30/09/2025: Let's start with the positives. 1. The atmosphere is nice only because of the giant statues of anime characters. 2. The waitress was good. 3. The sashimi was excellent. Then let's start with the negatives. 1. The paper menu is different from the one on the QR code, and I can't explain why the next table had wavy fries that weren't on the paper menu. 2. Some dishes were cold or lukewarm, compared to other restaurants they're usually hot. 3. Most of the dishes weren't that great, again compared to other restaurants. 4. The bathroom is neglected, doors don't close, and faucets with sensors are half broken.

03/12/2025: Good food, wide selection. We had a great time, enjoying the penne with salmon followed by grilled squid with roasted vegetables. We didn't miss out on dessert either. Dogs are welcome.

24/11/2025: I'd stay home to eat frozen scampi in pasta, grilled prawns, and shrimp in mixed fried fish, not to mention the appetizers. Leave them alone, it's better. Terrible!!!!!

01/12/2025: We had dinner here on 1 DEC 2025. The food was atrocious, it had ZERO FLAVOR! The spaghetti tasted like lukewarm wet flour with cold crushed tomatoes. The gnocchi wasn’t any better. The food was so bad (how bad was it!) I could take a food tasting tour of every hospital throughout the Scandinavian countries and find more flavorful meals than La Cicciascheria. Usually, you can’t go wrong in Italy (except Rome or Naples on occasion); however, this place fleeced me outta 67 Euros, because I could only take two bites outta of every dish. The first to taste and the second to make sure the first was that bad! Honestly, I should’ve had a Kebab or McDonald’s. I really don’t like to throw a restaurant under the bus; but this place deserves the 1 Star across the board review (which is still generous). To make matters worse, I told the waiter 4 times “I don’t eat pork!” so what does he do…..he served me a pork dish. It didn’t help there were flies inside the restaurant (in December no less) at night! While the staff seemed nice, it is better to stay away. There are plenty of other decent options in Lucca.

22/11/2025: We had the set menu. Very reasonably priced. For starters, a hearty soup that was quite good. The mushroom lasagna was decent. A glass of wine and coffee came to €15. You can't ask for more. They also have a wide variety of cakes, and you can enjoy a hot chocolate with a view of Lucca's beautiful piazza.

08/06/2025: Really great restaurant. Spaghetti with clams and very good fried food. Really friendly staff.

08/09/2025: Dear Hotel Playa Team, We would like to thank you very much for the wonderful stay at your hotel. We particularly enjoyed the location directly by the sea and in the shopping area, which made for a relaxing holiday. The room was always clean, and the food in the hotel restaurant was very delicious. We would especially like to praise the excellent service, from the manager himself to the entire team. We always felt well looked after and were provided with many useful tips for excursions in the surrounding area. The parking in front of the door at a fair price of €8 per day was also very convenient. Overall, we were completely satisfied and are already looking forward to our next visit to the Hotel Playa.
