First night in Lucca and didn’t have a reservation anywhere. Tried to get into a highly recommended restaurant but it was full. Found Piccolo Mondo and they could take us (only 2 people). Food was excellent - soup, shrimp risotto, broccoli flan and spaghetti bolognese. All great! But service was horrible - the staff made us feel like they were doing us a favour by even recognizing us. But there are SO many great restaurants to enjoy that one doesn’t have to put up with such poor service.

17/03/2026: Excellent service, super stocked for aperitif, food along with the normal drink
29/01/2026: Welcoming bar with a lovely atmosphere. It has plenty of tables, including outside, where there's a small heated area protected from the wind for the winter. The staff is helpful, efficient, and very quick with their service. The prices are fair and average.
