25/05/2026: A beautiful refuge with a wonderful atmosphere, young and friendly management, full of advice for hikers. And, at least for me (and I've visited several), it has the almost unique "sea view," which is certainly not a given from a mountain refuge.

27/04/2026: Gentlemen, never again, but then, I've been frequenting this refuge for years, I was reluctant to find out about this change in management. We ordered a platter of cured meats, platter!? A plate with 4 cured meats and olives, €14... lasagna, non-existent béchamel, non-existent ragù... €14 but can the food go through, or rather let's let it go through... but what about the behavior? At the next table who had booked at 1pm like us, at 1:40pm nothing had arrived. When the waitress, a lady with short hair who was trying to be nice, complained, she said these exact words: "Do you want to come to the kitchen? We're short of staff." If you take reservations and you know how many people you have, and there were really few!!! And despite this, you're not prepared, change jobs!!! OLD MANAGERS, where are you?????????

06/04/2026: I never leave negative reviews, but unfortunately, this place gave me one. Easter Monday, lots of tables, and an emergency power outage along the entire promenade. So far, bad luck, but not the restaurant's fault. The problem arises when the entire dining room, manned by just two waitresses, was abandoned for the entire meal, with no apologies or updates. We had ordered a mixed four-course appetizer, and three arrived after an hour and a half (since the food was cold and ready, it didn't require electricity). An hour later, they came asking for second courses. I asked for the quickest option available, and after five minutes, a plate of paccheri arrived for two. Dissatisfied with the emergency management, we went to pay full price for everything, even the appetizer, for which we only received three of the four courses. I'm sorry, but I've never left a place feeling so disappointed and angry. It's not the emergency, but the lack of attention shown by those who pay full price for no attention.

06/04/2026: I usually avoid leaving negative reviews, but this time I couldn't help it. It was Easter Monday, the restaurant was packed, and there was a power outage along the entire waterfront: an unfortunate situation, certainly, and not attributable to the restaurant. The problem, however, was how it was handled. The entire outdoor dining area was manned by just two waitresses, and we were, in fact, completely neglected throughout the entire lunch, without any explanation or update. We had ordered a mixed appetizer consisting of four courses: after an hour and a half, only three of them arrived, all cold dishes that didn't even require electricity. After about an hour, we were asked for second courses; I asked for something quick, and after a few minutes, a single plate of paccheri arrived for two to share. The most disappointing thing was the bill: we paid full price for everything, including the incomplete appetizer. It's not so much the emergency itself, which can happen, but the complete lack of attention and care towards customers who, despite everything, pay in full. I left feeling truly disappointed and bitter.

01/05/2026: The best restaurant to never go to again. The pizzas we had were really not good. The first pizza we had was somewhat okay, but it was very hard and dry and didn't have much flavor. The knife could barely cut through it. The second pizza was a kind of grilled cheese sandwich that was also very dry. With the third pizza, the ingredients were not distributed, there were pieces of luncheon meat on it, large chunks of onion, and the taste wasn't good either. We also had a calzone where 5 cm of the edge had nothing on it, just dry dough, and the rest was crammed into 10 cm in the middle. With this, I ate 80% ham and the rest a bit of dough and cheese, but that was it. The pizzas were also burnt around the edges. At the end, extra money was charged for something we don't even know what it was. A plus point is that the person who served us was nice and polite. I have never looked forward so much to the moment the food was finished and we could leave.

28/03/2026: I'm still at the table. Unfortunately, people these days take everything for granted. I ate with a colleague; we're coach drivers. The spaghetti or garlic and oil was good, the Milanese and fries were classic, but what really took me back was the lemon veal cutlet. Simply perfect, just like my grandmother and mother used to make. With a side of a masterpiece of mixed salad, a carefully balanced mix of vegetables, peppers, celery, and fennel... In short, everything was perfect. And then there was him. Odilio. Simple and friendly, just like a host should be. If you're in the area, come visit him. Thanks. Marco

08/02/2026: Traditional pizzeria, where pizza is a cult. Original flavors that endure over time. For me, it's like being a kid again! A pizza that's instantly digestible. The quality of the ingredients makes all the difference. What can I say about the Cecina? Fantastic! I recommend stopping by and trying a slice to take away!

12/01/2026: A quaint, family-friendly place right in the heart of Lucca. The staff is attentive, polite, and above all friendly and kind. The owner is a delightful and very pleasant person. We came in with a stroller and they gave us a little room all to ourselves. We ordered a Capricciosa for two (we were initially hesitant whether it would be enough for two, especially since I eat a lot). It was a feast of visuals and authenticity. In short, if you want to feel at home, eat well, and spend little, go to this pizzeria.

10/12/2025: I've been there a few times because it's close to the university. The food isn't bad, but the staff isn't the best. One waiter in particular is very apathetic; it seems like he's doing the customers a favor. Plus, I once found a pebble in an artichoke risotto.

30/10/2025: Truly a unique first course 🤞🏼👏🏻 I had fritto misto for dinner and it was excellent, I highly recommend you try it. The waiter, Ale, was very kind and very fast. The waiter was really kind and friendly, thank you for making the evening wonderful.

We were won over by both the pastries and the saleswoman (or owner) who took the time to explain the ingredients of each product and offer advice while letting us taste them!! Everything we tried was delicious and of high quality. The sweet chard tart (a local specialty) is worth the trip, even if, like me, the idea of ​​eating chard for dessert might initially put you off. However, you'll see that once you try it, you'll be hooked!!

05/05/2026: They were very kind; we called an hour before lunch and asked for a table for 11 people. They seated us outside, sheltered from the wind and sun (it was a hot day). The food was good, and the prices were average considering the beach area. The staff was friendly and helpful. We just had a hard time finding the table because there's no sign at the entrance with the restaurant's name, but rather a sign for Lido Flora. There's plenty of parking nearby.

08/03/2026: Our experience was unfortunately disappointing, not so much for what we ate, but for the attitude shown toward the guests. We ordered two main courses, two side dishes, and a half bottle of wine (0.375 l), and when we asked for the bill, we clearly heard the owner comment: *"They've already asked for the bill, they haven't eaten a thing... here's €60."* Beyond the amount, which certainly isn't an issue, we believe that respect for guests is the minimum foundation of hospitality. A comment like that, especially one audible to the guests themselves, is simply unacceptable and shows a lack of professionalism. We also speak as hospitality professionals: we run a company that specializes in luxury short-term rentals, and we know full well how attention, respect, and style in treating guests are fundamental elements of the experience. Precisely for this reason, hearing a comment like that is truly perplexing.
