✨ A truly enjoyable dinner at Giacomo's in Pietrasanta. The atmosphere is magical 🌿, with a meticulously maintained garden that makes the setting charming and very relaxing ✨. The quality of the food is excellent 🍽️, as is the presentation, refined and well-thought out. I started with a delicious shrimp tartare 🦐 and continued with excellent cacio e pepe tortelli 🧀, both prepared with quality ingredients and great attention to detail. The service was also good 😊, friendly and professional. A restaurant I recommend for a special dinner ❤️ in a truly enchanting location 🌙

My first time at Giacomo Pietrasanta, it was a truly impeccable experience in every way. The location has a unique charm: elegant, well-maintained, and with a chic atmosphere that makes everything even more enjoyable. The food exceeded expectations: dishes prepared with great care and quality ingredients. The wine list was also excellent, perfectly in line with the level of cuisine. Special attention was paid to the service: we were looked after by friendly, competent, and helpful staff. The staff in the dining room made the difference. Friendliness and good food truly go hand in hand. A place I would return to without hesitation.

15/06/2026: We stayed in Lucca for 3 weeks and made this our regular morning coffee and people watching place. It was always open - lots of other cafes close on Sunday or Monday, and the staff were always warm and welcoming to us. Good coffee and focaccias. Maybe a bit more expensive than some other cafes, but right on one of the bigger piazzas- so always something to see.
26/05/2026: I travel miles to enjoy a marocchino at Bar Turandot in Lucca: for me, it's the best ever! The chocolate is generously spread inside the characteristic transparent cup, and the coffee is topped with frothed milk and a dusting of cocoa. A true delight! The outdoor tables overlooking Piazza San Michele also make the experience even more enjoyable. The staff is always welcoming, kind, and professional. If you're passing through Lucca, stop by: you won't be disappointed!

Rifugio Forte dei Marmi

25/05/2026: A beautiful refuge with a wonderful atmosphere, young and friendly management, full of advice for hikers. And, at least for me (and I've visited several), it has the almost unique "sea view," which is certainly not a given from a mountain refuge.
26/04/2026: I've known this refuge for a while and have always eaten very well there, so yesterday's lunch left me a bit perplexed. The menu was rather limited: the lasagna was lukewarm and a bit dry, the pork loin was unremarkable, and the side dishes were decent but not particularly noteworthy. The dessert and coffee, however, were good. The price, having increased by a few euros, seemed a bit high for what was offered. I'm writing this as a constructive recommendation because the place is truly beautiful and has great potential: with a few more options on the menu (such as a simple pasta with meat sauce), the experience could be significantly improved. I'll gladly return for another opportunity.
