It's a shame we can't give it a few more stars. It's a tourist spot, but the food is top-notch. Prices are normal. Highly recommended.

Ortigia has so many wonderful things. This is one of the best. Fast, welcoming, no-frills service. The raw fish? Incredible—as fresh as if they'd pulled it from the sea ten minutes earlier. And all this while sitting in the historic Ortigia market, with an authentic atmosphere that few places can still offer. Would I go back? Yes. In fact, I'd return to Ortigia just to come here for lunch.

A truly excellent experience! The dishes are rich in flavor and carefully prepared, everything very authentic and satisfying. The atmosphere is welcoming and informal, perfect for a quiet evening in Ortigia. The staff was extremely kind and attentive, making the dinner even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

04/05/2026: The best Arancini Ragu I've ever had! Generously filled with sauce and oozing with cheese... a real treat! Truly! The others were a little less impressive but still very good (caccio e pepe and prosciutto). Counter service was fine, and there are a few tables outside for dining in.
21/04/2026: Midollo, in the heart of Corso Umberto I, as a Sicilian, I've never had such good arancini; for me, they're the best. The rest of the deli and pastry shop is also excellent. Breakfast is also excellent, with a variety of croissants filled with chocolate, pistachio, jam, and more. There's a wide selection of cakes and pastries. In addition to offering stools at the counter, the Midolo bar also offers the option of dining or having breakfast outside on the sidewalk. The tables are covered with umbrellas that provide plenty of shade from the hot sun. Besides the classic arancini with ragù (I want to emphasize once again that it's DELICIOUS), there are also butter, ham, spinach, and cacio e pepe. The bar is well stocked, and the coffee is truly excellent. Last but not least, the staff is very friendly, courteous, and professional. Prices are reasonable. I highly recommend the Midolo bar and restaurant.

09/05/2026: The food is excellent and served with great kindness. I tried the delicious lupini tempeh with seasonal vegetables and kimchi, and for dessert I had a chocolate mousse with dates. They also brought me whole-wheat bread and organic olive oil. Highly recommended!
08/05/2026: A vibrant place. They are food artists if you ask me. The vegan carbonara was so creamy and tasteful. Friendly and knowledgable staff with a real passion for good vegan food and wine.
