26/04/2026: We chose to dine here during an overnight stay in the area, and it couldn't have been a better choice. It's a small, very well-kept restaurant, with extremely helpful staff, including the waitress who was very friendly and engaging. The selection of local wines is truly interesting, with the owner guiding you through the selection based on your dishes. We tried the appetizers, first courses, and second courses, all truly excellent, made with local ingredients. Fair prices.

29/05/2026: Visited for an aperitif and to buy pastries to take home. The staff was friendly and helpful. Everything was good. Honorable mention for the almond pastries: enormous, not sugary, with well-blended flavors; there's a lot of experience behind them. The only downside was the
cars and motorcycles whizzing by at incredible speeds, making a deafening noise.

14/05/2026: During our holiday in Sicily we stayed in both Palermo and Catania and had restaurant dinners every evening. We had wonderful food everywhere, but this restaurant was different in originality, quality and above all taste. Giardino di Bacco served us outstanding food [we had fish and vegetarian] and we enjoyed every single dish. It was definitely the best experience in Sicily! 11/05/2026: Excellent! I was won over by this seafood restaurant: the quality of the ingredients is excellent, each course is balanced in flavor and carefully presented. The staff is professional and helpful, always ready to offer advice without being intrusive. The location is welcoming and meticulously maintained, perfect for both a romantic dinner and a lunch with friends. Compliments to the chef and the entire staff—I will definitely be back.

17/05/2026: I want to enjoy my food 100% – unfortunately, that wasn't the case there.
My appetizer – raw shrimp – tasted of nothing but smelled rather strange.
The pasta was supposed to be with garlic and chili, but it had hardly any flavor and no spice at all; the sauce was watery. I haven't eaten this badly in two months in Sicily.
And the cover charge was a joke – just dry bread, no oil or butter, no seasoning whatsoever: €5 per person!!
17/05/2026: After my first not so good meal in Italy in 3 weeks last night, I spotted Trattoria da Nuccio on a small side street off the busy area in Catania historic centre.
So glad I did.
It was perfect, exactly what I wanted, a simple delicious lunch at reasonable cost, with great service.
I had the Cotto a Sote de Pesce (cooked fish stew) with a side of grilled red peppers, and bread for dipping.
Fantastic.

24/05/2026: Yesterday we decided to try this takeout and delivery pizzeria located on Via Dottor Consoli in Catania. We wanted to try it primarily for the variety of doughs they offer, such as multigrain and pinsa (presumably a pinsa dough at least similar to Roman-style). We ordered 1 pizzolo, 1 pizza, and 1 "pinsa." The pizzolo wasn't bad, decent, a little bland, but overall okay. The pizza was the same, but the pinsa was completely wrong (I've attached a photo). It was literally a pizza rolled out like a pinsa; the dough was identical to pizza dough, only the shape was different. We were disappointed because we paid a €2 surcharge for a different dough.

03/06/2026: We had a delicious meal here yesterday. We were looking for pasta alla Norma, as is our custom, and stumbled upon this place. Pippo gave us a very warm welcome. We enjoyed our food and drinks, and the pasta was absolutely incredible. The eggplant on top was soooooo tasty, and everything else was just as good. The atmosphere was lovely and so typically Italian. Pippo was also very friendly and gave us a warm send-off. Thank you for the wonderful experience! 🌞
