15/01/2026: We stayed for 2 nights; the place is gorgeous with a breathtaking view. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, at night, the guests in the neighboring rooms were incredibly noisy. We only ate one evening at the restaurant; the menu has limited choices... The dishes, however, were delicious. The price certainly wasn't the cheapest... For breakfast, however, the waiter was really kind and patient.

04/05/2026: If you're in Catania, you absolutely must go. The seafood is fantastic and absolutely delicious. The portions are generous, and although we ordered a set course, the portions were so large that we canceled the pasta. The staff service is also excellent.

08/11/2025: I am super dissatisfied. They have a menu on the internet, we choose our food and make a reservation. After which we go to the place and find out that the menu is completely different dishes from one plate. Pretty poor. I do not recommend. We paid for our water and went to another restaurant. This is the first time something like this has happened to me in Sicily.

17/04/2026: A place from another era. It's quite far from the center of Catania, but it's worth a visit for two reasons: you can experience the flavors of Sicilian cuisine and savor the authentic local atmosphere of a place where a family-run business feeds its regulars. Wine is served in carafes, drunk from plastic cups, but everything tastes delicious, and the staff will smile at you sincerely, happy you've come to eat at their place. Be warned, there's often a wait to be seated, and it's only open for lunch. I highly recommend it, too, for its very reasonable prices.

16/04/2026: This restaurant is mostly frequented by locals. The service is incredibly warm and welcoming, the food is delicious and the portions are generous, yet they don't charge a table fee or service charge. The other diners are also very kind; while we were waiting in line outside, someone told us it was a very special restaurant, and we were very lucky to have found it. Inside, you'll also feel a particularly friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Dreamy first courses (caserecce with pistachio and guanciale, out of this world for the texture of the pasta and the quality of the pistachios, etc.), incredibly fair prices, professional and friendly service, top-notch Fragrantia amaro, and other exceptional dishes. 19/04/2026: Absolutely amazing food and cozy atmosphere. We had spaghetti vongole, grilled swordfish and strawberries with whipped cream, everything was delicious. A hidden gem!

19/04/2026: Disappointed....We were waiting impatiently for this last dinner in Catania.We went there full of joy.The service and the food was good but we felt so bad when we told the waiter that they forgot to put ricotta cheese in a dish we ordered and they just said sorry, but did nothing to compensate! We saw the cheese in everybody else s dish while we didn t have the chance to try it, although we paid the same money as everybody else!.What is more,although there was a waiter who offered the clients who had finished their food, a small dessert,we were not offered one....It isn't about the money.It is because we felt they didn t care about us.This ruined our last dinner. We spent 50 euros, 25 each and we felt as if we were not as welcome as the other clients.....

01/01/2026: We came for New Year's Eve lunch. Everything was excellent, and the staff were very kind. There were changing tables and high chairs for children. We just didn't appreciate the small portions. At least for the first course (which was two entrees), we would have appreciated a slightly larger portion. We also ordered a cutlet for the kids... and we weren't expecting it to be the modest sum of €15 (since we weren't given a menu to choose from). Only the cutlet. Aside from those two things, everything was perfect, and we'll be back to try the pizza.

19/12/2025: We went with friends for pizza, which was delicious. The only flaw is the acoustics: we went early, and we were able to converse until the place filled up, but then we had to shout because of the unbearable noise.

18/04/2026: Location that does not correspond to the cost of the menu ... very dated furniture, food I must say good, friendly staff but for what I ate the prices were sky high

31/03/2026: A historic Catania restaurant. We were guests of local friends, and they took us to this historic and characteristic restaurant. We were served by Mr. Mario, an extremely knowledgeable person who made us feel at ease and recommended typical dishes. We were truly pampered and felt at home. The dishes were excellent, everything freshly cooked and the fish was extremely fresh. Compliments to the management, professionalism, and courtesy of all the staff.

08/01/2026: Dear restaurant manager, I sincerely congratulate you! I'll briefly explain the situation. Reservations were made by phone before Christmas around December 20, 2025, for a reservation for January 6, 2026, at 1:00 PM. There were 8 people, two 2-year-old children, and a newborn. We called back on January 5, 2026, to reconfirm everything. Today, January 6, 2026, we entered the restaurant, providing the surname. They told me that there was no reservation for that surname. Your dear employees, in particular, one who was quite elderly, even allowed himself to speak in a low voice to another colleague, using some rather harsh words. This is a situation that deserves great professionalism. We were left outside in the rain, which was quite heavy, with a newborn...! I wanted to remind you, dear sir or madam, that even if the food in your restaurant is good, first and foremost, it requires professionalism, which you don't have!

15/03/2026: I went to lunch at La Polena restaurant with high expectations, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The food wasn't particularly well-crafted, and the menu selection was rather limited. Considering the price, I definitely expected better quality and attention to detail in the dishes. It's a real shame, because the staff was very kind and helpful throughout the service, which was certainly the highlight of the experience. I hope the restaurant can improve its offerings and the attention to detail in its dishes, because so far, the value for money hasn't lived up to expectations.

24/02/2026: We had lunch at La Polena based on a recommendation we received upon arrival, and it turned out to be a perfect choice. From the moment you arrive, you sense the attention and care they give, with small, much-appreciated gifts that kick off the experience in the best possible way. Fresh seafood dishes, beautifully balanced and cooked with authentic, well-presented flavors. Impeccable, courteous service, always available to explain every offering. Stunning views of the Aci Trezza sea, a relaxing atmosphere, and excellent value. A place definitely worth a visit!
