I expected better overall, because some dishes weren't good (the risottos in particular). The service was adequate, and the atmosphere was welcoming and quiet.

Excellent food. I gave the food four stars because the ravioli were too salty, which masked the full flavor of the filling. As for the ambiance: the terrace was beautiful, but with a bit of a breeze, it wasn't the best for lunch. Recommended

We had lunch at La Polena based on a recommendation we received upon arrival, and it turned out to be a perfect choice. From the moment you arrive, you sense the attention and care they give, with small, much-appreciated gifts that kick off the experience in the best possible way. Fresh seafood dishes, beautifully balanced and cooked with authentic, well-presented flavors. Impeccable, courteous service, always available to explain every offering. Stunning views of the Aci Trezza sea, a relaxing atmosphere, and excellent value. A place definitely worth a visit!

Excellent restaurant experience. The fish appetizers were excellent and beautifully presented. Special praise goes to the staff, especially Mr. Sebastiano, who stood out for his absolute professionalism, courtesy, and customer service, making the evening truly memorable and flawless. Highly recommended!

27/07/2026: Well, what can I say? It's a Catania institution where most dishes are ordered by the course. However, it's not even worth going without booking two weeks in advance. Or, you can do the true Sicilian thing and just go without a reservation and easily wait an hour while enjoying an aperitif on a stool 😉
27/07/2026: Informal atmosphere, great prices. Excellent food. Don't miss the sea-green spaghetti, which made me dream. A medium appetizer cost €5, which we shared, two oysters, and two generously portioned first courses. Two large bottles of water, a Coke, and two coffees for a total of €43. I recommend going early to avoid the line. We wanted to return in the evening, but had to give it a miss. I left my heart there.

08/07/2026: Great place! I really liked it. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was amazing. We highly recommend it!
19/06/2026: We came here specifically to try horse meat, and overall it was a great experience. The service was friendly, the staff welcoming, and the portions were very generous. The meat was tasty and of good quality. One thing to keep in mind though: if you order your steak medium rare, it will likely come out closer to rare — so it’s worth asking for one level more done if that matters to you. Another thing that stood out was how many locals were dining here, which usually says a lot about the quality and authenticity of a place. Definitely worth a visit.
