23/05/2025: Friendly and welcoming pizza restaurant in Valderice! We had dinner here on a weekday evening and really enjoyed the food. The pizzas are freshly made and with quality ingredients. The menu includes quite a few local and unusual toppings, many with fish or seafood. I went for the salmon and breadcrumbs pizza and didn’t regret my choice. It was nicely balanced, maybe a tiny bit too heavy and light on the tomatoes; but still very good and memorable. The service is fast and professional. The atmosphere for dining in is down-to-earth and unassuming but the pictures on the wall about Valderice in the past add a nice touch. The prices are very fair.

22/06/2025: We went to this place to try the famous xxl croissant. Everything was beyond expectations. Baked piping hot, minimum waiting time. Very good and with many creams for all tastes. Cost €12 but you can eat very well even in 4 or more.

26/05/2025: A restaurant that combines panini and burger Unexpected delicious food Burger 1 and Burger 2 are both very filling. Panini unexpectedly neutralizes the greasiness of hamburger meat The salad dressing is also a good match The downside is that the tomato and lettuce don’t have a strong flavor, unlike American burgers. But the price of a single product is only 7 euros, it's worth a try For an extra 3 euros, you can get extra fries and drinks. The fries are surprisingly crispy.

15/06/2025: We discovered the Ristorante Due Palme in Santa Ninfa thanks to the advice of a friend, and we were really enthusiastic! Coming from Palermo, the recommended exit is Salemi; if you are coming from Mazara del Vallo, the one for Santa Ninfa is more convenient. We arrived around 1pm on a Sunday in the middle of summer: the welcome was immediate, the kind staff sat us at a table perfect for two. We started with a delicious and abundant mixed appetizer: breaded courgettes and aubergines, an aubergine roll, croquette, panella, pork arrosticini and a chicken leg. All well cooked and very tasty! For the first course we shared a portion of busiate with tomato meat stew, a typical and really tasty dish. The grand finale was the crema catalana: a marvel! The caramel crust, crunchy to perfection, broke under the spoon, leaving room for a velvety and fragrant cream. Sincere compliments to the chef, the owners and all the staff for their passion and kindness. We arrived here from Palermo almost by chance, but it was a great choice. I also recommend the restaurant for a summer trip or a weekend in the area. The restaurant is closed only on Wednesdays. We will definitely be back!

02/07/2025: Le Naumachie is one of the best places to eat in Taormina. Situated next to the remains of one of the most historic corners of Taormina (the Naumachia building), it is atmospheric and majestic. The restaurant’s chef offers his guests tasteful and stunning dishes, beautifully presented, equivalent to those of a Michelin * restaurant. In between each course, you are offered a (complimentary) amuse bouche, each one of them being a true state of the art! They have an excellent wine list, for every purse, starting from a fairly low price/bottle and raising up to thousands of euros/bottle, should you feel spendy 😊 (this is not to be considered as a drawback, though, since one can pick one of the value-for-money wines they offer at lower prices)! The restaurant has surely invested well and wise on their service, which was excellent -relaxed and friendly, as another client suggested- and always ready to discuss their menu options and offer analytical details about everything (including the site’s history 😊). The signora at the entrance (I believe the owner’s mother) invites you at the restaurant as if you were back home! We will surely enjoy another dinner at this fantastic restaurant, when we return to Taormina, and enjoy an even better bottle of wine (or even two), something that we weren’t able to do this time, since we had an almost 2-hour drive back to Siracusa and drinking and driving is not advisable! The price range below included a value-for-money bottle of wine, two starters and two main courses.

27/05/2025: We have eaten at I Sapori delle nonna more than once. What we love about it is the friendly atmosphere, the authenticity of the great local food, cooked like real Sicilian grandmothers do and finally the affordability of the bill. I strongly recommend it if you want to try the “real thing” Grazie nonna!

18/05/2025: I accidentally ordered a different pasta than what I wanted. When it arrived, I told them it was not what I wanted, and they made a new one for me. I told them I would pay for it because it was my mistake, but they didn't take it. I was surprised by their reaction, but above all, the food was delicious. Please come and try this restaurant.
