18/06/2025: Business trip, we looked online and chose this place for the very positive reviews. It was a weekday lunch, the place was empty. In addition to us, 2 other tables. Food that combines refined flavors with tradition. Attention to detail, both in the dish and in the dishes. Very quiet place, soft atmosphere in the center of Massafra. Kind and professional waiters. We were in a bit of a hurry so we couldn't enjoy our lunch break for long. Fewer dishes to choose from, better.

13/05/2025: Ero stato con mia moglie 2 anni fa con una piacevole esperienza, come da mia recensione. Siamo tornati con 2 amici ed in verità siamo rimasti delusi. Abbiamo ordinato 2 antipasti (per 4 persone), veramente misero con pochissime cose e porzioni ridotte. (Premetto che non abbiamo ordinato il crudo di mare come l'altra volta). Come primo abbiamo ordinato tutti i paccheri ai frutti di mare che erano la fotocopia in bianconero di quelli di 2 anni prima (sembravano riscaldati e con pochissimi frutti di mare e con le bucce delle vongole sotto i denti). Per secondo abbiamo preso una sperlunga centrale di frittura di pesce misto (buona), una bottiglia di vino fichimori, 4 dolcetti e 4 caffè. Preciso che il locale è accogliente ed i bagni puliti. Chiedo il conto e mi trovo una cifra spropositata, 240 euro, per quello che abbiamo mangiato, pago e zitto. Sarà capitato una giornata storta, forse la festa Patronale, ma sono rimasto molto deluso, al massimo mi aspettavo 180. Oltretutto i tavoli non hanno neanche il tovagliato e questo è antipatico e poco igienico perché il tovagliolo e le posate inevitabilmente poggiano sul tavolo. Insomma non penso di ritornare visto che la qualità è scesa ed il prezzo, in rapporto a 2 anni prima è raddoppiato quasi.

11/08/2025: A relaxed atmosphere and very friendly staff. The food is divine and the price is right. Typical Salento dishes are served. I recommend it to anyone who wants traditional cuisine, just like grandma's.

09/08/2025: Very polite and personal attention serving. The good is a must to taste in Puglia: the bombetas. Some not for the faint of heart. Definetly recomended.

20/08/2025: I had never tried bombetas before, but I went to this restaurant and loved them. I wish I could be in Lecce more often so I could go there more often!

14/08/2025: Excellent meat, generous portions, moderately priced. Special mention for the bombette and beef strips. Superlative! ...we've tried several grill restaurants, and this is one of the best. Unfortunately, I don't live in Puglia, otherwise I'd come back every week.

06/08/2025: When you’re really craving pizza, and you visit Ai Portici, you will have a 5/5 meal. The menu is extensive with so many options and types of pizzas so you cannot go wrong. Both pizza and wine is very affordable and the staff is nice and attentive. A true Italian experience (with fluorescent lightning and everything)!

02/08/2025: We went to this restaurant very close to the city center and had a wonderful time. The meat was truly excellent, tender and flavorful; you could taste the quality. The service was also impeccable: the staff were kind, professional, and attentive. The waiter who served us was truly courteous and made us feel at ease throughout the evening. The atmosphere was pleasant and welcoming. We'll definitely be back!

16/06/2025: If you want to feel like a wealthy aristocrat — and spend only €80 to do it — this is your place. I had the Pescatrice lardellata (monkfish wrapped in citrus lardo from Gargano, with Jerusalem artichoke and honeyed figs). Rich, sweet, citrusy — absolutely refined. Elegant atmosphere, top-notch service, everything serious and upscale. Highly recommended!

05/06/2025: A beautiful terrace. We were greeted by an unusual server who took the time to explain everything with great humor, which was very pleasant. The dishes are very good, especially the whole sea bass prepared in front of you. It deserves its 5 stars!

The chef-owner, a true fish craftsman, a visionary who has found a way to preserve, distill, ferment, and always maintain the purity of flavor. A force of nature! If you're in Puglia, head to Matino and I'm sure you'll leave wanting to return soon because this delightful restaurant makes you feel welcome and leaves you in a good mood.
