01/09/2025: Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed with this restaurant. I wasn't sold on the lunch menu, and I would have liked to try the evening dishes. The service was quite slow. That said, having a vegan restaurant in Monopoli is still a nice touch.

31/08/2025: The food is good... could it be improved? Yes, I'd say so... some dishes are excellent, others less so... I recommend the crema catalana... magnificent, the chickpea hummus, and the fava beans and chicory... the parmigiana, a bit less so. (I'll never understand anyone who would pretend to cook it without batter-dredging and frying the eggplant... in any case, the negative review is due to the slightly acidic sauce!) Otherwise, a very nice and welcoming place with interesting combinations and experiments.

19/10/2025: We are staying not far from Donna Maria and were looking for something nice for dinner. We found just what we were looking for. The bread seems to be a house made loaf which is a pleasant change from some who just drop some rando bread in a basket on the table. This bread is good quality. We began with beef carppacio which was delicious, especially the olive paste which provided a natural salty component. My wife had gnocchi with lamb ragu and I enjoyed the mezzi ziti with a rich beef sauce. Both just wonderful dishes. Especially with Negroamaro to pair with. We finished with a Crema di ricotta pugliese dessert that's a regional favorite. It was a wonderful meal and the staff were professional and friendly.

14/10/2025: TOURISTS, MIND THE BILL We began our lunch around 1:00 PM by ordering two appetizers from "Hostaria La Serra" for three to share, as recommended by the host, before ordering the rest. The host was very friendly from the start... perhaps a little too friendly, in hindsight. Around 1:50 PM, with a flight to catch, we realized we had to interrupt the delivery of the remaining appetizer (still in progress) and couldn't order anything else. In addition to the two appetizers (from the menu, €16 each, €32 total, which we intended to pay in full despite not being able to finish them), we ordered a bottle of still water (€3), a small bottled beer (€3), and a coffee (€1), in addition to a €2.50 cover charge per person (€7.50). At the checkout, satisfied with the quality of the food and confused by the host's friendly chatter, we paid €55 in cash without thinking twice. Once in the car, we realized the bill didn't add up and that we didn't even have a proof of purchase to check the bill. Unable to go back, we decided to call politely and ask for an explanation. The call seemed garbled and confusing, and we were told we'd receive a photo on WhatsApp with the billing details. Two days later, we still haven't received anything. In conclusion: the food was good, but we were very disappointed by the lack of clarity on the bill. Therefore, don't be as naive as we were and check before paying and leaving, especially if you've made the mistake of telling the host you're not a local.

13/10/2025: We had a very nice dinner at Hostaria La Serrra. Very nice fresh seasonal products and very good service. Certainly a place to go back to.

17/09/2025: A welcoming atmosphere with meticulous attention to detail. Spacious tables and comfortable chairs. The host, Simone, is kind and knowledgeable. He continually trains to stay up-to-date and bring delicious, refined food to the table. There's always something new on the menu at this Ovineria. The waiters are knowledgeable and courteous.

24/10/2025: A very lovely restaurant run proudly by a family. Their food was advertised as being from their own land. EDIT: while the menu itself didn’t show many vegetarian options the restaurant have said they are happy to cater if asked directly. We were just too British and polite to ask for the menu to be changed for us! But the meat and fish dishes looked lavishly delicious. I think their menu changes depending on what they are producing.

14/10/2025: Very nice and welcoming place. Excellent quality meat, cooked to perfection. The owners and the lady serving are friendly and welcoming. We'll definitely return with the whole family. I highly recommend it for a lovely evening in a great place.

18/06/2025: Business trip, we looked online and chose this place for the very positive reviews. It was a weekday lunch, the place was empty. In addition to us, 2 other tables. Food that combines refined flavors with tradition. Attention to detail, both in the dish and in the dishes. Very quiet place, soft atmosphere in the center of Massafra. Kind and professional waiters. We were in a bit of a hurry so we couldn't enjoy our lunch break for long. Fewer dishes to choose from, better.

13/05/2025: Ero stato con mia moglie 2 anni fa con una piacevole esperienza, come da mia recensione. Siamo tornati con 2 amici ed in verità siamo rimasti delusi. Abbiamo ordinato 2 antipasti (per 4 persone), veramente misero con pochissime cose e porzioni ridotte. (Premetto che non abbiamo ordinato il crudo di mare come l'altra volta). Come primo abbiamo ordinato tutti i paccheri ai frutti di mare che erano la fotocopia in bianconero di quelli di 2 anni prima (sembravano riscaldati e con pochissimi frutti di mare e con le bucce delle vongole sotto i denti). Per secondo abbiamo preso una sperlunga centrale di frittura di pesce misto (buona), una bottiglia di vino fichimori, 4 dolcetti e 4 caffè. Preciso che il locale è accogliente ed i bagni puliti. Chiedo il conto e mi trovo una cifra spropositata, 240 euro, per quello che abbiamo mangiato, pago e zitto. Sarà capitato una giornata storta, forse la festa Patronale, ma sono rimasto molto deluso, al massimo mi aspettavo 180. Oltretutto i tavoli non hanno neanche il tovagliato e questo è antipatico e poco igienico perché il tovagliolo e le posate inevitabilmente poggiano sul tavolo. Insomma non penso di ritornare visto che la qualità è scesa ed il prezzo, in rapporto a 2 anni prima è raddoppiato quasi.

14/10/2025: The perfect place for breakfast! All the pastries were super fresh and delicious. The coffee was also good. And the prices are incredibly low. We paid 12 euros for all of this. The staff was also very nice, we'll definitely be back tomorrow, I highly recommend it.

10/11/2025: Nothing wrong with the atmosphere or the service, but the price/quantity/quality ratio is very high. The portions are very small and limited, which is acceptable, but the prices are too high. Spending more than €35 per person for a few appetizers and a modest portion of meat, with nothing special in terms of quality, leaves a bitter taste in your mouth and a sense of being cheated. A real shame, given that Ceglie offers many excellent options for dining.

08/10/2025: A wonderful place with fantastic dishes – cooked with love and originality. The wine, the ambiance, and the friendly service rounded off our evening there. An absolute recommendation, where every penny is worth it for a truly enjoyable time!
