15/06/2026: We had lunch outside. The dishes were well-cooked. Excellent service, and the entire staff was very kind and helpful. The risotto with prune and local herbs was recommended. 🔝 The main courses were also delicious. Excellent value for money.

14/06/2026: Beautiful place, we usually get there by bike but we have never managed to sit down, even today at 12.05 everything was booked up with no possibility of sitting outside

30/05/2026: We had a wonderful evening here. The folks that run this restaurant really know how to make even a tourist welcome. The food was first class and the service better than any other experience we had on our trip. We mention we hoped they had mussels or clams as they weren’t on the menu. “No problem I just got some this morning at the market. It’s not on the menu but I will make some.” So he made them especially for us. We will be back!

12/01/2026: While searching for a restaurant in Domodossola, I came across this lovely restaurant-pizzeria. It was a lovely evening, with good food, good wine, and good service. Prices were fair for the quality, and it was free of all the gourmet frills and Michelin-starred-style frills. Don't be put off by the unusual name (it was the name of the previous brewery the owners ran), the location (it's in a sort of alley), and even if the waiters ignored you when you entered (the room was full, but we were ignored for five minutes). My beef cheek was cooked perfectly, the mashed potatoes and tapas nabour were balanced and flavorful, my wife's vitello tonnato was very well cooked (pink in the center) with the sauce served on the side, and the bread and milk tart was very simple but delicious. The waitress was friendly but not intrusive and always gave us excellent advice, and the owner was kind and smiling. A distinctive touch: two MV Augustas are on display in the restaurant. I haven't tried the pizzas, which seem very thin and crispy. Well done! I'll definitely be back when I pass through Domodossola again.

09/07/2026: Extremely positive experience Let's start with the ambiance. The place is beautiful, quaint, and modern in structure, but not overly modern inside. We were warmly welcomed by prompt and friendly waiters who accompanied us throughout our meal. There's also outdoor seating on the veranda, but we preferred to sit inside, cosseted by the air conditioning given the scorching heat these days. The entire building is completely glassed in, so you can appreciate everything around you. Excellent food. A selection of cheeses and cured meats from Ossola, with the foresight to serve the more mature ones last and not with the main platter. A trio of well-made first courses with vegetables from their garden. Excellent desserts, although my bunet was perhaps a little overcooked. The wine selection was excellent. An experience worth repeating as soon as possible. However, I'm extremely angry that they wouldn't reveal the name of their cheese supplier. Nasty!!!

09/08/2026: We dined at this restaurant a few nights ago and it was a very pleasant surprise. We appreciated the high-quality ingredients used in the meticulously prepared and interesting dishes. The ravioli del plin filled with faroana and hazelnuts were exceptional. We were greeted with great kindness and guided through the various courses. Highly recommended!

09/08/2026: The Flizzi restaurant in Macugnaga is the kind of place that makes you wonder why you hadn't discovered it before. A traditional but not folksy location, the welcome is warm and friendly, yet not intrusive or overdone like a "holiday village." The owners share the responsibilities; the lady is more focused on the menu presentation, while he is clearly a passionate and expert sommelier. The menu isn't overwhelming, which is a great thing because it guarantees attention to detail and precision in preparation—plus, there's something for every taste and appetite. The service is prompt without being overwhelming or pushy, leaving plenty of time to chat and discuss the food. The portions are just right, no pretentious nouveau riche crumbs, and no heaps of fast-food-style "gastric fuel." Each dish is explained with affection and pride, which raises expectations—which are consistently exceeded by the food. A special mention goes to the surprising and delicious "Alpine Ramen," an "experience," as they say, that alone justifies the trip. Reservations are recommended, especially in the evening, because word of mouth spreads, and you won't be the only ones feeling hungry in the Anzasca Valley and surrounding areas. The price is very fair—I'd even say "a bit shy" considering the service and quality. Highly recommended, and we'll definitely return.

02/05/2026: I honestly think the restaurant has all the makings of one of the most charming and professional establishments on Isola Superiore, as well as in the entire Borromean Islands area. However, while the staff is prompt, extremely professional, and quick in serving guests, I believe that when the place is crowded, it feels the inevitable emotional pressure caused by the accumulation of requests for food and drink. Unfortunately, during my stay with my partner on May 2, 2026, I didn't have the opportunity to dine at "La Rondine" due to a misunderstanding that could easily be resolved. Nevertheless, I can say that, as a former professional (with many years of experience) in the restaurant service industry, I really empathized with the waiters, especially the affable and lively young man with sunglasses and a long beard. Although I offered to come back in about 40 minutes to try and find a table, he abruptly interrupted our conversation and (rightly) went back to serving customers. Although I intended to return, as I promised, I faced my partner's disapproval over the incident and immediately agreed to return to Stresa. That said, I hope this review can be a positive starting point for improving an already excellent table service. I recommend investing in mindfulness and emotional intelligence courses for staff, so they can experience customer service in a pleasant and rewarding way.

23/04/2026: Spectacular restaurant location overlooking the water on the beautiful island of Pescatori / Stresa and the food quality and variety excellent! Enjoyed the veal and grilled vegetables with vino blanca, iced in a pasta can! Check out their store that has family-owned FABULOUS olive oils, balsamic, spices and more. Sarah speaks awesome English and her knowledge and attitude matches. I actually made a video as I was so impressed ❤️🇮🇹

The first thing I'd like to highlight is Davide's kindness, friendliness, and presence behind the bar. With his unique manner, he welcomes you into his home. Entering, and especially returning, is a small homecoming every time.
