19/05/2025: I have been to this restaurant and I really enjoyed it. The quality of the food is excellent, each dish is well-prepared and tasty. The staff is kind, helpful and always attentive to the needs of the customers. A pleasant experience that I highly recommend!

08/06/2025: During my visit to BALABIÒTT Gastropub I had the opportunity to taste some of the menu's options that impressed me positively. I started with the "Il Salumiere" platter, designed for two people, a selection of excellent quality cured meats. Very abundant even for two people, I appreciated every single taste, truly excellent products. As a main course I chose the "Octopus Special", a truly surprising burger. The octopus tentacles were cooked to perfection, tender and tasty. The ingredients of the sandwich were well-balanced, balanced and carefully combined to enhance each flavor. Accompanied by crispy and tasty dipper potatoes, the dish was very very satisfying; a true gourmet burger. The place is well-kept and welcoming, even if the background music was a little too loud for my taste. The bill was more than fair, especially considering the quality and quantity of the dishes. In particular, the platter has a very competitive price. Bottom line: an excellent experience in every way. Quality, taste and abundance at a fair price. Highly recommended!

15/06/2025: I've had some very nice meals here in the past, but today's experience was rather disappointing. We seem to have made the mistake of choosing the menu. Each of the 3 courses was very small, about half the size of the same dishes when ordered a la carte. Also, the quality of some of the ingredients used left something to be desired. The cut of meat used for the tartar wasn't great, and the panna cotta was seemingly made with vanilla paste with vanillin flavouring instead of real vanilla. I think for the quite high prices one can expect better quality. The service, sadly, wasn't up to scratch either. We had one set of cutlery for the 3 courses. After the starter my knife was covered in egg yolk from the tartar, so I left it on the plate, expecting it to be replaced. The waiter took it off the plate and placed it back on the table. It remains to be said that the setting of the Grotto Sant'Anna is very nice indeed.

27/06/2025: Excellent pizzas and fish dishes. Relaxed atmosphere. The only problem is that you have to book in advance because it's often full, but the very friendly staff will do everything they can to find you a seat. Excellent value for money.

29/06/2025: It was recommended to us by the owner of the property where we were staying and we were very satisfied. Good value for money, varied menu, characteristic location, very beautiful in the center of Stresa in a beautiful little square.

16/06/2025: Great food and very friendly and attentive service. Every dish is visually and tastefully exquisite, and the portions are generous. All allergens are clearly indicated, and there are numerous gluten-free dishes. Highly recommended.

14/06/2025: We visited this lovely restaurant as a group of 7, from the UK in June 2025 and The garden setting with the vine covered pergola was really well crafted. Everyone from our group thoroughly enjoyed their main courses and deserts. The lovely attentive lady at the front of house was faultless , no request was ever a problem. I don’t write many reviews but after the quality of the food, compliments to the kitchen staff and of the service we received I felt this independent restaurant truly deserved my time and my review. You will not be disappointed.

12/06/2025: Passi il fatto che è in mezzo alla frazione, quindi non c’è né vista né manco la sensazione di essere in un rifugio. Siamo stati lì dopo aver prenotato, ma quando siamo arrivati ci hanno detto che c’era posto solo fuori sotto una piccola pioggerella. Nonostante questo, abbiamo voluto ordinare, ma ci hanno portato l’acqua dopo 40 minuti, e metà dei piatti in menù non erano disponibili. Volevamo la polenta col cervo, ma ci hanno detto che era finita. Abbiamo pensato che poteva capitare, salvo che un quarto d’ora dopo ce l’hanno portata, però portandoci lo via dopo 30 secondi perché si sono accorti che non era per noi. Abbiamo ordinato quello che c’era e ce ne siamo andati. L’ultima sorpresa al momento del conto, dove ci hanno fatto pagare, ed è l’unico locale nel territorio, l’acqua naturale che prendono dalla fontana. Non torneremo mai più, sconsigliatissimo.

27/05/2025: Sono stato per pranzo, posto bello, tavoli esterni coperti con gazebo ed ombrelloni. Cibo e Servizio così così.......i gestori NON sono italiani ma probabilmente svizzeri o altro e la cucina ne risente. Abbiamo preso 4 antipasti a piccoli taglieri dove c'era: - ottimo assaggio di 3 tipi di formaggi locali diversi - 6/7 fette di salame crudo abbastanza interessante (andrebbe spellato prima) - 2 fette di un impensabile salame cotto tipo wurstel - della pancetta buona, ma tagliata a pezzettini stile "carbonara"....ma anche no - 2 contenitori tipo pannino da caffè con hummus )comprato) e marmellata di mele (buona) - 1 ciotolina tipo caffè con della giardiniera buona Dicoiamo che l' antipasto era ok tranne che per il "simil-wurstel" Poi abbiamo preso: - 2 polenta pasticciata e funghi...la polenta era ok, il formaggio insapore ed i funghi veramente scarsi (champignon) ....la polenta pasticciata è un' altra cosa - 1 polenta con formaggio fuso che era identica a quanto sopra senza funghi - 1 brasato con polenta....il brasato era più simile a un bollito...insapore e duro. Acqua, bibita, vino e caffè abbiamo speso circa 25 euro a testa: non è molto ma non è nemmeno poco visto la qualità di quanto servito. Insomma c'è ancora MOLTO da imparare se si vuole proporre cibo che non sia troppo saporoso di nord-europa.

11/06/2025: The food isn't à la carte, but rather a set menu (3 dishes to choose from). Very friendly service, reasonable prices, large portions, and typical Italian cuisine.

12/05/2025: Updated the information, we arrived on foot from the center of Omegna because it is indicated that the restaurant is open and closes at 2.30pm, but instead it is closed. Zero professionalism. I would like to point out that we first made three phone calls to the number indicated and left messages on the answering machine, no one ever called back, nor was there a message from the answering machine informing of any extraordinary closure.

29/06/2025: Nice view of the lake, but food and service disappointing. I’ve ordered the piatto del giorno, since it was the local fish the I wanted. Though, the fillet had many spines and the baked potatoes tasted deep fried. Staff behaved like doing a favor. There was gluten-free beer in the menu, but not in reality.

25/06/2025: Great fish 🐟 nice view, super wide menu with a range of foods from pizzas to salads and more. I recommend having fish, they do it very well, it's fresh, simple and flavourful...the way it should be👌🏻 The staff are super fun and helpful, trust their recommendations, they are not there to rip you off 😉 Very good price, considering the location and view 🏝️ it really surprised me !! No downs to highlight in here, just the white wine could be cooler 😜

22/06/2025: We were there for dinner. We didn't have a reservation, but we got a table anyway. The owner speaks excellent German (her native language) and explained the menu to us verbally. It was small, but there was something for everyone. The portions weren't that big, but we were full. And the prices for a three-course meal were definitely excellent. And it tasted very good, too. We'd be happy to come back.

30/05/2025: Excellent cuisine, charming setting inside a semi-covered courtyard. Monica a truly unique and professional host. She personally made herself available to best organize a large dinner with attention to the little birthday girl. Congratulations because finding hospitality like this is not for everyone.
