11/03/2025: good spot during a quick layover / evening in Domodossala. not much happening or options around anyway.

15/01/2025: Very nice place, excellent food and the waitress who served us was very kind and professional. I put one star, reluctantly, for what I imagine is the owner. When it came time to pay, the kind gentleman asked us if we wanted a single receipt and in "our" house the single receipt means a single bill, after a couple of seconds of back and forth he told us "I don't care, as long as you pay" all pissed off We were very sorry because the lunch had passed in a super pleasant way but he could have saved himself this farewell. In the hope that he learns manners and the value of hospitality. Greetings from Turin, where hospitality is a must.

03/05/2025: Not only great food, but staff attentive to customer needs! They satisfied us twice on the choice of table, avoiding the stairs for an elderly person and an "uncomfortable" table due to the presence of our little dog! Highly recommended!

19/07/2025: Four of us ate there the other day. We really enjoyed it. The food was perfect, and the staff was very friendly and attentive. High praise! We'd love to come back.

14/07/2025: We arrived at 8:15 pm, and that was the beginning of the end. The service was appalling, taking over 20 minutes for a server to come to our table to take our order. Once we placed our order, the food arrived quickly, thankfully because the restaurant wasn't full. However, it should be noted that the waitress grimaced as she served one of our dishes (lasagna Bolognese). Once we were finished, our dishes were decent but very simple: lasagna Bolognese and escalope Milanese. Being bon vivants, we wanted dessert. As a result, we left without it. Indeed, we had to wait to be relieved, and most importantly, no one paid any attention to us afterward. It was impossible to catch a server's eye for dessert or coffee since some were busy eating at the front of the restaurant with customers, others were deliberately ignoring us, and still others had disappeared. At the front of the restaurant, there's a bistro where people are standing, not very warm and welcoming, but with a sure-fire elbow bump. We got up and went to pay at the counter, since it was ultimately the only solution for the evening: to leave. We would have preferred never to set foot in there, and we certainly won't be back.

21/07/2025: The staff was really friendly! Despite being located in a parking lot, it was a great place. The food arrived within minutes, was super delicious, and the prices were really reasonable. I highly recommend it 😊 Definitely worth a lunch stop 👍🏻

20/07/2025: We stumbled upon it by chance during a trip to the lake. Even though I hadn't booked and the restaurant was full, they quickly created a spot for us on the veranda at the restaurant entrance. The staff was extremely kind, friendly, and fast. The food was excellent, made with the freshest ingredients. Highly recommended!

19/07/2025: I highly recommend this place. There were 9 of us. The staff were welcoming with a smile and the authenticity of the food was admirable. They recommended many courses to us with professionalism, and we all had different dishes, each one better than the last. The quality and price were excellent. Thank you for everything. Good selection of dishes, I can only recommend eating here, the service and ambiance are of a high standard. Thanks and keep it up........

01/07/2025: Make sure you book! Especially during the weekend, booking is very useful! To get to the restaurant, just take the ferry from Stresa or Baveno and in 10 minutes you are on the upper island of the fishermen. The restaurant is very nice with a terrace on the lake. The food is good (we had both the grill and the fried lake fish) and the prices are normal (starter, 2 main courses, 1 dessert and 1/2 liter of house wine and 2 coffees are €30 per person). Don't expect the "wow" effect on the dishes though! The waiter and staff in general are very nice.

28/07/2025: Unfortunately, the restaurant wasn't what it looked like. It looked beautiful on the outside, but the food didn't impress us at all. The tortellini was cold, and the other pasta dishes weren't seasoned. The fish was also bland in flavor. The pasta is described as homemade, but I honestly don't believe that. The service was good and the ambiance was very nice. However, our main concern is the quality of the food.

12/07/2025: The place is simple; the outdoor tables are interesting, but the interior is less appealing. Overall, it may have been a coincidence, but the staff's lack of warmth and friendliness makes it difficult to enjoy a breakfast together. The croissants were already sold out, even though it was early, so it's hard to judge the coffees. We'll be back for a more thorough review.

02/07/2025: We love "our" Alimentari! The cold cuts, cheese, vegetables, and fruit are always of the highest quality. We've been shopping there regularly for several years and have never been disappointed. Sometimes we enjoy a delicious Ichnusa on the sunny terrace and enjoy the mix of locals and German tourists. Chiara and Walter are very friendly hosts—we simply love Café Duse.

16/07/2025: A sophisticated cuisine, don't hesitate to mix and match your dish; the condiments and sauces are refined. The staff is very attentive and quick to resolve any minor incident. Piedmontese dishes and refined cuisine.

It begins when you choose the ingredients as if you were choosing the right words to say "I love you" without speaking. Every gesture has a meaning: the hands that wash, cut, knead, do not just put order among the aromas, but tell a story. A story that smells of home, of memories, of people who perhaps are no longer here, but who return, even if only for a moment, in the scent of the sauce that simmers slowly. There is attention to every detail. In the salt that must not cover, but enhance. In the waiting time, which is never wasted time. In the dish there is the care we have for those who will eat it. It is a form of love that asks for nothing in return. And when you finally serve it, that dish speaks. It says "I'm here", "I thought of you", "I care". Even if no one says it out loud. Cooking like this, with the heart, is a sacred act. It is laying bare a piece of your soul on a white plate. It is giving emotion. And those who taste it, even without knowing it, notice it. Well done!

12/06/2025: it was a strange experience. we came and there was a free table in the sun. we decided to move it 20 cm in the shade. but the employee came out and started to actively shout at us. so we left. It was super unfriendly and unexpected in Italy.

22/07/2025: Excellent restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff. The venison carpaccio was very good. The vegetable side dish with the main course was equally good. Excellent value. The prosciutto and melon were excellent, and the roasted melon with hazelnut cream was excellent, melting in the mouth.

10/06/2025: The staff was very nice. Perfect location, great view from the room… Room was clean and comfortable. I went to their restaurant for dinner and it was a good experience. Breakfast was even better, they have a big variety of food which they serve directly to your table (no buffet) - which was a new and nice experience to me! Unfortunately I only stayed one night and solo, but would love to go back for a longer period with someone else.
