08/04/2025: Truly spectacular refuge, very high quality food and genuine family atmosphere. All homemade, really compliments. Thanks again for the great hospitality on Saturday!

30/03/2025: This morning, taking advantage of the good weather, we decided to try this refuge. We therefore called to book, postponing lunch by half an hour to ensure we had a place outdoors. Once we arrived, we were shown what, once re-set, would be our table. It's a shame that after 10 minutes of waiting (pleasantly spent admiring the view), a couple who knew the management showed up, without having booked, and took our table because they didn't want to sit near the entrance. Management should ensure that reservations are respected, or, if a change is necessary, politely ask if there is the possibility of giving up the table. Instead, without warning, we were given the other seat, near the entrance, taking it for granted that we would accept it. When I asked to reinstate our reservation, the response was "if you want it that way, otherwise you can leave". What a pity. We stopped at the place a little further down the valley and had a great time.

13/02/2025: I am reviewing the restaurant only. We came on a week night in February and got a table right away with no reservation. The service was terrific. I had the mussels and they were very good and plentiful. My husband had the carbonara, which was very good. We then shared plate of shrimp, swordfis and branzino which was excellent.

15/02/2025: In una limpida ma fredda sera, abbiamo voluto riprovare le pizze gourmet del Mati'sse. Il locale si distingue dagli altri, anche all' interno, per il suo caratteristico essere. Senza dubbio ,anche se manca il tramonto sul lago, le pizze hanno confermato la loro fama. Anche in Inverno, promosso a pieni voti. Dunque, arrivederci in Estate!

08/02/2025: A place with particular furnishings, not very large but well organised. Excellent pizzas, fast service and very kind and professional staff. A special mention for one of the staff, called Feng, who was particularly helpful and affable. His smile, the way he speaks and the care with which he dedicates himself to customers is commendable, it brings so much joy and adds flavor to every dish. Excellent!

24/12/2024: Ottima pizza, con un impasto morbido che mantiene una piacevole croccantezza. Da eliminare il tavolo 1BAR troppo vicino alla porta di ingresso e quindi disturbato da frequenti aperture, passaggi e 'botte' d'aria!

15/12/2024: Brillante noche pasó con nuestra familia italiana. Grandes pizzas y entrantes encantadores. Pizza bien cargada y tenía la masa tenía burbujas quemadas que son tan sabrosas.

24/03/2025: We took it to have a dinner at high altitude on Saturday evening.... despite the rain at the start, and the snow at high altitude it was a beautiful and fun experience, the cable car guys are good, friendly and professional even in giving all the details.

20/03/2025: I skied today, March 20. Excellent cost (15€). Personal rating: slopes for expert/very expert/competitive skiers 8-9/10, for medium/expert skiers 6-7/10, for medium/poor skiers 3-4/10, for beginners 1/10. Signage: absent. Variety of slopes: poor. Slope maintenance (considering the season and the poor ground snow): fair (not taking into account, negatively, the grooves and blocks of snow left by the snow groomer, the connections and intersections between the slopes as well as the return to the cable car from the Cima Trubbio side which are ugly and dangerous). Splendid panorama and environment. So overall, a rather negative judgment, hoping that the project I saw on paper DOES NOT come to light because it is absurd, inappropriate, useless given the lack of snowfall that is expected and the environmental situation of the place that absolutely does not allow any expansion of the ski area, nor improvement (at most a few conveyor belts to facilitate access where you have to climb steps...)

05/04/2025: The best and only wood-fired pizza in Cannobio. Super delicious! The owner soon wants to make the outdoor area more comfortable. 😉

09/03/2025: Arrivati per caso durante una passeggiata a Riale, da cui si arriva a piedi, siamo stati piacevolmente colpiti dalla bontà dei vari piatti: salumi tipici, tortelli con polenta e bettelmatt, gnocchi all'ossolana, tagliolini fatti in casa al pomodoro e al ragù di cervo. Personale cortese, prezzi contenuti. Il giorno dopo siamo tornati è l'impressione si è confermata ottima. Ci siamo anche portati a casa un vasetto della loro composta di cipolle buonissima! Consigliato!

26/02/2025: Siamo stati tra amici un weekend con pernottamento. Uno spettacolo la sera fuori immersi dalla neve e dalla diga illuminata. Il rifugio è caldo accogliente ,piccolo ma non manca nulla. Ci si sente come a casa. Buona cena e ricca colazione. Stra consiglio!!

04/01/2025: Ate today, delicious polenta, wild boar ragout and braised beef that melted in your mouth. The pandoro tiramisu is also worth tasting. Price absolutely adequate for the quality. Thanks for your hospitality. And a hug to Mia, Betti and Andrea.

28/12/2024: Excellent welcome. The very kind owner. From the car park to the refuge it takes about 10 minutes. The route is simple and well shaded. We had lunch at the refuge. The quality of the products is excellent! Good prices! The comfortable and shaded outdoor seats. There is a play area for children. The refuge is an excellent starting point for various excursions. Highly recommended

02/01/2025: Wonderful restaurant with excellent food (including vegan and vegetarian options) and a sweet team :) We would come back every week if we could.

10/02/2025: Good value for money, with a commendation for the grilled specialities. Sweet on the other hand... disappointing. Very kind and attentive waiters and staff in a simple but fairly well-kept location. The temperature in the room was really negative: unacceptable cold!

28/01/2025: Pleasant business lunch in a familiar and welcoming environment. The location is a typical tavern of the area, with a beautiful fireplace, there are 2 not very large rooms. The service is fast, the dishes offered are very good, well prepared and plentiful. The staff is very friendly, helpful and professional. The menu of the day is varied with different proposals. The price is normal, I will definitely return.
