09/09/2025: Excellent cuisine and very friendly service. Absolutely excellent value for money. Absolutely dog-friendly. Our two dogs were immediately provided with water bowls without asking. We would 100% recommend it.

30/07/2025: That evening, the restaurant was very crowded, and the staff seemed overwhelmed: all the waiters were rushing around without even greeting customers. Even though we had a reservation for 8:30 PM, our table wasn't ready when we arrived. We sat on the terrace. We had to wait on the terrace for about 40 minutes before someone came to take our order, and another 40 minutes for our pizzas. Coffee was offered as a courtesy, but honestly, the overall experience was disappointing. That's not how it should be.

27/08/2025: We stopped for a coffee and a crostata as a stopover. Initially, we were treated kindly. I went to the bathroom with my children, and as we were leaving, the oldest one leaned out the balcony to look out. The youngest followed him and tripped, so unlucky that he removed the mosquito net. I went to tell the staff what had happened. While we were drinking our coffee and eating the Costa, which was tasteless, the owner (I imagine) appeared and went straight to my 4-year-old son, rudely telling him that he had broken it and that it couldn't be fixed. When we paid, they made us pay €50 for the mosquito net, telling us it cost €200 without showing any proof, when I had seen prices much lower than that online. For me, the problem wasn't the money, but the way they treated a 4-year-old who had had an accident. I wouldn't go back because they don't know how to treat people, and the dessert wasn't that great either.

02/09/2025: I stop with customers every time I go on a mountain bike tour. Availability, friendliness, and quality are some of the strengths of this welcoming restaurant. Furthermore, last time, we needed to charge the batteries of a couple of e-bikes, and the kind staff member immediately found us a plug to plug in. Thank you :-)

08/10/2025: Great restaurant on the lake with a beautiful view one level on the terrace and one by the lake. Great Italian dishes and wine from local producers. The food was amazing.

07/10/2025: A typical tourist pizza restaurant, with a very low quality-price ratio. For example, a Capricciosa pizza costs 15 euros, and the prices for the others are similar. One might expect a quality pizza. Instead, they serve one cooked in an electric oven, very mediocre, both in terms of dough and toppings. We're just a few kilometers from the Swiss border, and the prices for pizzas and all the other dishes are "Swiss." But in Italy, there are thousands of pizzeria restaurants where you can enjoy quality food for much lower prices.

04/10/2025: Great view, but overpriced and unfriendly service The restaurant's location is truly stunning – the view over Lake Maggiore is impressive and makes the visit special. The food was good, but the prices are significantly too high for what's on offer. The coperto and desserts, in particular, are exorbitantly expensive. Unfortunately, the service wasn't up to the standard you'd expect at these prices: One server became very unfriendly when we simply asked for the restroom. Overall, a nice place for the view, but not an overall pleasant experience.

13/06/2025: Difficile arrivarci per caso e, segnalatoci da conoscenti, ci siamo andati. GRAN BELLA SCOPERTA - nelle viuzze del paese, il locale si presenta molto accogliente e ben arredato. Dispone di una terrazza esterna in tutta tranquillità. Attenzione e gentilezza al cliente 🔝. Nei piatti, influenze locali e azzeccate. Menù variegato e ottima scelta; stesso discorso coi 🍷. Il rapporto prezzo/qualita’ è assolutamente 👍. Che dire se non che.. SENZA DUBBIO CI RITORNEREMO.

06/08/2025: The hotel is right in the main square of Macugnaga. Alessandra, at the reception, was very friendly and, with a map in hand, informed us of all the possible excursions. Breakfast was excellent, everyone was kind and helpful, and the place was spotlessly clean! What can I say...we'll be back.

09/09/2025: The food (as well as the drinks) arrived relatively quickly, and it was also very tasty! (The lasagna had ham in it, which we found a bit difficult to get used to.) The service: Everyone was very friendly, and it wasn't a problem at all that we didn't speak Italian and only had elementary English. 😉 The four of us got a seat on the terrace. It was nice, but with a little more creativity and different tables, they could achieve much more, and it would attract more guests. Likewise, the restroom upstairs is in dire need of renovation.
