21/05/2025: Very Turin-like, this place flows between an exterior in perpetual low maintenance and an interior from a world of wonders with palm trees, lush greenery and well-kept furnishings, just a little aseptic like a hotel. I went to a refreshment: savory single portions, vegetable fritters, semolina, mozzarella. Pizzas made on the spot, savory tirte, bunet with coffee cream. Attentive and empathetic staff, very well done setup. Yesterday aperitif with dinner: superlative with Ribolla, Arneis and virgin Spritz. Crispy corn very fresh like bagiggi, chips and focaccia with swordfish. Then a cutting board with a very rich menu including 3 salamis, bresaola, raw ham, lard and cheese. Definitely worth returning, without rushing

15/06/2025: A wonderful experience; we were very well received. A charming young waitress, smiling, helpful, and with a great sense of humor. The owners were also very friendly. Good value for money. The pizzas are huge. And the menu is very extensive.

27/07/2025: We sat inside the restaurant, where the decor was traditional and very cozy. We ordered pizza. It's a traditional Neapolitan pizza with a thick crust, which can be made in many different variations upon request. We really enjoyed the pizza! We would recommend the restaurant to anyone who enjoys stone-baked pizza.

26/07/2025: We had a really good meal at Lo Scalo! Everything was consistently delicious. The Pasta Frutti di Mare is especially recommended – perfectly balanced, with plenty of seafood, and simply amazing flavor. You can easily enjoy three courses here because the quality is consistently impressive, from appetizer to dessert. One of the better restaurants on the promenade – a little more expensive, but absolutely worth the price. Great food, friendly service, and a lovely atmosphere – we'll definitely be back!

06/08/2025: I went for lunch and an aperitivo with friends: highly recommended! Everything was delicious, the staff was friendly, and the outdoor seating area was very well-kept and pleasant.

What I can say is that the Italian waitress is kind and finding smiles and education in the restaurant business is now a utopia. I'm sorry if the management is very mediocre, as written in some reviews, but the work done with love also deserves praise.

26/07/2025: In cerca di un posto per fare colazione ilsabato mattina, entrata per caso con la mia amica, siamo rimaste piu' che soddisfatte. Posto delizioso in stile shabby, personale gradevole, caffè e dolci molto buoni. Straconsigliato.

04/06/2025: The drinks may be fine but after waiting an eternity for the chips that were requested twice and never arrived I would say that I have nothing else to add, especially for the indifference we suffered towards us.

22/08/2025: I had lasagna, and let's say it was okay. There was too much béchamel sauce for my taste. I don't think it was homemade. The risotto was very runny and poorly prepared... but it tasted okay.

19/08/2025: The restaurant is right on the water in the pedestrian zone. There are a few tables across the street. This way, you sit right by the water and have a great view of Lake Maggiore. It would only be more perfect if people didn't just walk past you at a distance of what felt like 2.5 cm, staring at you. Of course, I can't blame the restaurant for that, but only the individual people. The service is geared towards speed and efficiency. Aside from a hello, goodbye, and a "Grazie," you don't interact with the waiter (which isn't a bad thing, either). Regarding the food, I can only review the pizza with arugula and ham. It was large but also very thin. However, it was crispy throughout. The pizza lacked some sauce and toppings. For an extra €3 on the Margherita, you get three slices of ham and a handful of arugula. I find that a bit lacking. The pizza was still delicious, but you just had to drink a lot in between. The cover charge is €2 per person. We paid €32 for everything. (2 pizzas & 2 drinks)

21/08/2025: We've been here several times in the past, but yesterday, I'm sorry to say, we had a terrible experience. More than the food, it was 15 degrees Celsius or below in the dining room with the air conditioning on! Honestly, this should be looked into more closely, especially since we weren't the only ones who left immediately and complained about the cold. I understand that the staff moves around and doesn't notice it, but the manager in the dining room should hear it. Honestly, you can't eat so much that you feel sick. I'm sorry, especially because the place was really nice.

23/08/2025: For lunch, four of us had two first courses (pasta with wild boar sauce) and two second courses (polenta with donkey stew ragu), half a bottle of wine, water, and one dessert. Total cost: €77.00.

20/08/2025: Very slow and indifferent service, four forgettable pizzas, and, listen to this, not only are they a pizzeria, but they don't even have any kind of bottled beer. The location is decent, but it's infested with mosquitoes. To forget.

17/08/2025: At first glance, it might be a bit confusing/disappointing, but it turns out to be very good. The dishes are very good, and the pizzas are too. The only flaw is the limited selection in some areas, drinks, and spirits. Anyway, it's a place to return to.
