21/09/2025: Coming back to Mamma Ester is always a pleasure. Today I was particularly impressed, both by the quality and quantity of the food and by the attentive and impeccable service, which is truly rare these days. The octopus and porcini salad is top notch. I absolutely recommend it 👌

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism. The staff was attentive, helpful, and genuinely welcoming — you can tell they care about every customer who walks through the door. The coffee here is excellent — rich, smooth, and full of flavor. Whether you’re having a classic espresso or a creamy cappuccino, you won’t be disappointed. I also tried a freshly baked pastry, and it was simply delicious — light, flaky, and made with care. They offer a nice selection of sweet and savory snacks that are ideal for a quick break or a light lunch. The interior is stylish yet relaxed, making it a great place to sit down with friends or even work on your laptop for a while. It has that special atmosphere that makes you feel at home, while still being vibrant and alive. The outdoor seating is also a bonus, especially if you want to enjoy a sunny day and take in a bit of the local life in Verbania. Overall, Café San Fabiano is one of those places that you’re happy to discover and even happier to return to. Highly recommended whether you’re a local or just passing through!

12/08/2025: Closed for holidays August 10-17, 2025 There are various menus, starting at €12 with various all-inclusive options. Combo 1 includes a first course, second course, side dish, dessert, microfiltered water, a glass of wine, and coffee. This little place is under the porticoes of Piazza Alfieri. I've had lunch there many times, and it's been a pleasure. The sheltered porticoes allow you to eat outside in any weather. The house wine deserves a special mention (the sparkling white is special, but the Barbera is also pleasant). Very clean and tidy, including the bathroom. Among the desserts, I have a weakness for the crème brûlée. The lasagna, made in many ways, is delicious. The plin with Barbera sauce is very light and flavorful. The Bra sausage is a real discovery. The variety of dishes is varied, all expertly prepared by the young chef. __________________ Among the first courses, I'd mention the excellent tajarin with a delicious sauce (e.g., anchovies the first time, or olives and sun-dried tomatoes) and perfectly cooked. For the second course, for example, I had an unusual (for me) smoked swordfish with arugula, fennel, and mushrooms. The dessert was a coffee + chocolate cake + ice cream. For dessert, we had a wide range of bunet (a type of pastry), sorbet, panna cotta, melon, etc. (every time a surprise). Excellent value for money.

09/08/2025: We stopped to eat at this place. We sat down at a table. After 30 minutes, a girl came to take our order. Meanwhile, two tourists arrived next to us. I immediately saw them take their order, all smiling, as expected. Their dishes arrived before us even though they arrived 30 minutes after us. Meanwhile, the desserts and coffee also arrived, and we were still waiting! Never again!

14/09/2025: Bar Liberty offered us a quick and simple meal. Despite its name, it’s a small hybrid restaurant. The menu includes pizzas, risottos, noodles, and even Cantonese rice. The place is modest, with two televisions on and a calm, no-frills atmosphere. Service is efficient and courteous. Prices are average. It’s not a gourmet restaurant, but for a fast and honest meal, it’s a solid choice.

03/08/2025: It's a really nice place, excellent grilled meat and fish. They use cumin (which is delicious!) in some cuts of meat. The place is new, modern, welcoming, and clean. The service is good. The prices are GREAT. I'll be back! 👍🏻

21/08/2025: I read on the door that they make gluten-free pizza, so I book a table and go. When I order, I'm informed that the pizza is still cooked in a regular oven along with the other pizzas, therefore contaminated. We decide to leave. Advertising a gluten-free pizza and not worrying about the risk of contamination seems rather ridiculous to me.

06/08/2025: Pleasant atmosphere and service. It's a shame the pizzas were a bit too burnt. Being right in the city center, the prices aren't exactly cheap.
