03/07/2025: I categorically do not recommend this place, we wanted to try the mushrooms that were on display, they were not on the menu, they said it was a seasonal dish, they prepared 1 boletus mushroom, deep-fried. As a result, they brought the bill for this specific 1 mushroom, they ripped off 30 euros. When we started to complain, the waiter said that we should have asked the price in advance. We paid 30 euros for the breading. Horrible in general. I do not recommend this restaurant.

03/07/2025: I will never come to this place again. They had complete dish with fungi for 18 euro including fish, but when I ordered just fungi without fish they charge me 30 euro. Scammers. The dish was not good. The mushrooms were overcooked with mostly no mushrooms inside, just a break. Other places have bigger portions for half price. When we expressed our concern they refused to listen. Do not recommend.

07/07/2025: We were looking for a nice restaurant in Anacapri and found it here, right next to the Church of Santa Sophia. Fast and particularly friendly service, excellent food – we had lasagna and a mixed salad – and a very nice atmosphere! The quiet afternoon here was especially enjoyable compared to the hustle and bustle of the rest of the island! Highly recommended!

The beautiful, clear sea is perfect for swimming among the fish and a thousand colors. Added to this is the typical Calabrian hospitality that surrounds you throughout your vacation. The people who regularly frequent Gelsomino are very kind and friendly. It's where special friendships are made. A place you'll never want to leave :) A family runs this wonderful place, and you can't wait to see it again next year. Hospitality, location, food, and relaxation are guaranteed. 25/06/2025: We are customers who come once a year for 5 years. Tonight we were insulted by the owner, by how she behaved, saying that my son broke a jar last year so to keep the child at the table! Apart from the fact that it is not true at all, but then you do not behave like that, you do not go to the table among other people with those snarky ways and especially after a year that with all the people they will see how they will have recognized us. I am sorry that we will not go anymore because the place deserves it.

20/07/2025: We dined outside in the evening. Let's just say the food wasn't bad; everything we ate was good and well-balanced. However, the service, the presentation, and the lack of communication between the chef and waiters detracted from the quality of the dishes, thus lowering the tavern's rating. We should try returning on a less crowded day, not on a Saturday... in our opinion, the restaurant lacks a female presence, which would perhaps create more order. Prices are high for the overall setting. P.S.: There's no way the menu is just written on a blackboard...

El personal fue increíblemente grosero, e incluso nos sentimos humillados cuando se rompió un vidrio en mis manos. La respuesta arrogante y defensiva del camarero, diciéndonos que no era su problema, era inaceptable. Aconsejo encarecidamente a otros que eviten este restaurante a menos que disfrute de reglas de menú extrañas y un servicio deficiente. La comida tampoco era tan especial como se anunciaba y sobreprecio.

01/06/2025: Location perfetto per una serata di puro relax. Ambiente semplice ma curato nei particolari. Le luci soffuse regalano un'atmosfera magica e suggestiva. La conduzione familiare dell'attività di ristorazione costituisce il suo punto di forza. Ad accogliervi la padrona di casa, Chiara, la quale con la sua competenza, gentilezza e discrezione vi coccolerà per tutta la serata. La cucina semplice ma ricercata è valorizzata da una particolare cura nella scelta delle materie prime, operata dall'Oste Giuseppe con grande attenzione. Una carrellata di portate che vi riporteranno indietro nel tempo, facendovi ritrovare odori, colori e sapori quasi dimenticati. La presentazione dei piatti è anch'essa frutto della meticolosità dell'Oste, che ne mette in risalto le caratteristiche più peculiari. Tra gli antipasti si può degustare un superbo cappuccino di ragù, servito in tazza che risveglierà le vostre papille gustative. Questa pietanza viene accompagnata da una polpetta di melanzana che è un trionfo di sapori mediterranei. Sublime il polpo arrostito in padella su di un letto di vellutata di verdure.Tra i vari primi potrete assaggiare degli agnolotti al doppio ripieno, la cui corposità della sfoglia vi farà gustare appieno la ricotta e la crema di parmigiano , i cui sapori non si sovrappongono. Tra le portate di carne si può gustare un manzo cotto per ore nel vino insieme a verdure ed aromi che al termine della cottura si trasformeranno in una deliziosa salsina con al quale verrà accompagnata la carne, tenera come il burro. Il fiore all'occhiello è rappresentato da un manzo tagliato sottile , e servito con una salsa di pomodoro aromatizzata e cotta lentamente a bassa temperature, che si fonde con la carne diventando un tutt'uno. Non a caso l'Oste l'ha denominata " Pizza di carne". Il tutto accompagnato da vini pregiatissimi , nella cui scelta vi farà da guida Chiara. Un'esperienza sublime per una serata indimenticabile!

The service was warm with very friendly waitresses. The price was right for food of this quality and the setting was magnificent (seaside). I recommend it 100%.
