29/05/2026: Since we were staying at the hotel next door for two nights, we booked a table for the first evening. We enjoyed it so much that we went back the next day. The food is excellent, the wine too, the view is lovely, the prices are reasonable, and the waitress Amalia is delightful. Definitely worth trying if you're in the area.

12/06/2026: My hubby and I had a great meal at this lively and fun filled pizzeria. We went on a Friday night and the place was packed with families and couples. The owner/host made us feel welcome and we ordered the fried stuffed olives and mozzarella to start. Delicious.!! Then came 2 faboulous pizzas and wine. The pizzas were great!!! Sadly, we had no room for dessert. The staff worked well together, creating a warm and welcoming experience.

11/06/2026: The waitress who served us was rather unfriendly; she seemed unwilling to serve us because she couldn't understand us in our broken Italian, English, or Spanish. We asked for fries with side dishes, and she didn't even notice. The pizzas are very good, typical Italian thin-crust pizzas baked in a wood-fired oven, like the ones you can get at any Tagliatella restaurant, which really bring back the authentic taste of Italy. The place is nice, with parking nearby. I can't comment on the hotel because I didn't stay there; this review is for the restaurant. It's inexpensive, but the food is quite good.

The atmosphere is meticulously maintained, with subtle background music and excellent food... the 5 stars are well-deserved and partly a sign of encouragement for those who, at their age, have put their all into the game!

18/05/2026: I'd like to start my review by saying BRAVA to the owner... She makes you feel at home, she's very kind and always smiling, and the waitress is always attentive and very nice... It's located in the center of Chiusi... a typical Tuscan restaurant with tables on the main pedestrian street... For our first course, we had Pici all'aglione, and I was disappointed because they were undercooked and lacking in seasoning. For our second course, we had Tagliata, which was nothing to complain about, very good, and then the tiramisu, which was also good... A glass of Tuscan red... About 40 euros per person. Happy?... Even though the pici weren't great, yes, I'm happy.

11/06/2026: Google Maps once convinced me to drive a rental car through Piazza del Campo (where loads of people were dining alfresco and looking at us with bemusement) en route to dinner at La Taverna di San Giuseppe. After arriving, we had a fantastic meal and evening. Great service and top-notch classic Tuscan dishes in a beautiful setting. We highly recommend this restaurant—and taking an alternative route or mode of transportation to avoid a hefty fine. Was it worth it despite the self/Google-inflicted inflated price tag? 100%

18/07/2026: The food looked good and was well-presented, but both dishes we ordered lacked flavor. One was duck and the other veal. At the end, we ordered dessert, the Nocciola, which, despite its good presentation, had a tasteless hazelnut cream, dry chocolate cake pieces, and overall the dessert was bland. We paid €102.50 for two people, without wine. The quality/price ratio is unsatisfactory. It's a shame, but I won't be back.

03/07/2026: Made a reservation on the same day. Chose an inside table as the rustic decor and wine selection was very aesthetic. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Both service, food and wine were worth every euro. The whole meal was very balanced and the dessert was extremely light and well paired. Would highly recommend. Thank you to everyone involved and great recommendations. Would definitely come again.

20/03/2026: Recommended to us by staff at a local winery, we first appreciated the approach, which is summed up in the menu's introduction (see photo). Everything was good, with the artichoke steamed in apple cider vinegar being exceptional (according to those who ate it). We appreciated the value for money. Recommended.

11/06/2026: This very special place hosted our 50th wedding anniversary in May. Our guests stayed in their comfortable authentic rooms and the Locanda provided both wonderful tuscan food and drink multiple times over a 4 day celebratory period. Nothing was too much trouble The Maccari's are a wonderful welcoming family skilled in both culinary and customer service The locanda is spotlessly clean, provides exemplary service and welcomes guests from all over the world alongside locals. Their traditional tuscan fare is cooked to the highest standard. The stand out dishes for us are the burrato with anchovie topping, pici al ragu and the sliced beef with various accompaniments. The wines are wonderful You need not go further than the house red which is an excellent rosso di montalcino. We have just read negative reviews with incredulity. Nothing could be further from the truth as far as our experience from multiple visits to the Locanda in Castelmuzio.
